Baby mama drama, legal trouble, help winning the lottery, etc. Some of them are printed on the jar but other signs are taped onto the jar (a little low-rent for my tastes). Room for improvement includes pricing all the candles. I picked one up without a price tag and it was $8 when I got to the register, when I saw many others priced around $6 or $7. It was a gift for a friend so not a big deal. Discount Candles is a really fun shop whether you believe the hullabaloo or not. They offer a wide variety of candles, incense and oils to choose from, and they've got a large (free!) parking lot to the right of the store for your convenience. We didn't have to look far, as Rozwell was lying on a display table right near the entrance! He is so cute and sniffed our hands and got a few pets. I didn't bug him too much as he seemed content to just nap. We learned that he is 20(!!!) years old and there is another shop cat that we didn't see. Moving on, this store is super cool. They have tons of interesting things including lots of crystals, clothing, accessories, gifts, jewelry, and more. The shop also has their production facility in the back. I wonder if they do tours! They are known for using actual manhole covers in Detroit to make prints on clothing, which I think is really cool and would make a great souvenir for any Detroit lover. I had a blast looking around at everything and loved some of the vintage prints on shirts, as well as what I assume are original designs. This is a great shop for finding a gift for the coolest person in your life, or for you, because you are cool. I believe I spent about 1-2 hrs in this store talking to the chandler about the candle making process and smelling the different scents. The staff is very knowledgeable. She let me experience a scent that she's currently making as well as a new release called Amalfi coast. The scents are available in candles, parfums, roll on scents, body wash and hand lotion. I did see some junk but I also saw that someone has taken the junk and madenit into art installations which I enjoyed looking at and trying to interpret. I would suggest getting out of the car and walking around. 2 odd things that occurred while visiting: 1. 3 cats circled the car in front of us and refused to move. The driver had to get out of the car and physically move them. They were not afraid of people. 2. A woman was walking around the project wearing a picture frame around her neck like it wasn't odd... It's something to experience.
