Let me start by saying I've never used a cleaning service before- I was always worried they would…read morescam me out of money, do a bad job and break my things. This was a Christmas treat from my boyfriend, and proved exactly every concern I had, right.
They arrived for the deep clean service that's required your first time, and, after about 2 hours, notified me that I would be charged an additional $100 worth of fees for excessive dust and dog hair. I have a lab mix that has free roam of the house, so I authorized that and went back to work.
The cleaner had to rush out before we could do a walk through (I'm assuming that's standard, usually, but I'm not sure). I noticed some areas that were totally missed right away. It felt more like a standard clean to me. I got a text asking how the service went, and I shared the photos. They said they would investigate and send the cleaner back. After a few failed attempts at sending me a follow-up text, they said they would email me, but I still haven't received anything.
MORE troubling than the clean job, the upcharge and the bad service though was my realization that evening at bedtime that the TV screen in our bedroom was damaged! I sent off an email, pictures, and asked for a call the following day.
Today, I received a call from a man who identified himself as the manager. He said he got my email, and his cleaner didn't touch my TV. I explained that they must have, because the screen was damaged and had been cleaned. He said "Lindsay said she did not." I explained that I was charged an extra $100 for dust and dog hair, and nowhere on or around the TV had dust or dog hair. His response was "Lindsay noticed you purchased a new TV." I said "yes?" And he said "well all I'm saying is my cleaner never touched your TV..." (IMPORTANT NOTE: My boyfriend won that TV at his company Christmas party days ago, and can easily prove that. The assumption we were being fraudulent was beyond offensive!)
He accepted no responsibility, suggested that the TV was broken already, and suggested that we were using the cleaning service to...get a new one? I'm not exactly sure. If you use this company, PLEASE TAKE PHOTOS OF YOUR ITEMS WORKING prior to their arrival so you can prove they weren't damaged before the service. If you don't have proof, they will just deny it, and there won't be anything you can do about it.
TLDR; They came into my home, charged me $300 for an unimpressive clean job, an additional $100 for dust and dog hair, ghosted me, broke [my distinctly un-dusty and un-dog haired] TV, then denied responsibility and accused me of commiting fraud. I now have a broken TV, a house I still need to clean, and I'm $400 poorer. I feel totally bamboozled and scammed. Worst idea, ever.
Update in response: the manager suggested we brought the TV to their attention after requesting a full refund, and being denied (aka, in retaliation). To be very clear, at no point have we requested a full refund, and all calls to management happened after we noticed our television was damaged during the clean. I also did not take issue with the additional charge for dog hair. As I stated in my review, they notified me of the upcharge, I authorized, and went back to work. All communication with this company has been bizarre, and they continue to gaslight and redirect while not addressing any of the issues we actually have. If you decide to proceed with this company, PLEASE take photos of your home, and all electronics working properly prior to your service, because they will deny all liability and be generally shady, and you won't have any recourse.
Again, to be clear, we did not and have never requested a full refund. Due to the poor status of the clean, the damage of the tv, the unprofessionalism of the manager, the outrageous fraud accusation and continued accusations from this agency, we are apprehensive to have them in our home to try again. That being said, our service was for a deep clean prior to a Christmas party we hosted for our families. The manager, Obi, refused to correct the issues that even HE agreed were problems prior to the event that was the purpose of the service. A partial refund for all the work he agreed was missed seems like a literal professional bare minimum. Please take note that the manager did not address any of the big issues in my review besides to outright deny liability, and continue to suggest something fraudulent occured. This is the company you are sharing your credit card information with. Exercise the discretion we apparently did not.
