We wrote to Candi Colored Poms in hopes of establishing contact and preventing other pets and pet owners from experiencing a preventable nightmare.
Hello and good morning. We hope that this finds you both well. We are writing you this text message to give you an update on both Milos and Doolin .
As you know, on Friday, they both tested positive for Parvo , which resulted in them being isolated in an urgent care veterinarian facility. They both received aggressive treatment protocols, including IVs , multiple medication's via injections, dextrose , nebulizers and nose drops. Multiple x-rays, multiple blood work- ups and around the clock, medical care and attention. Fortunately, Doolin responded better to the aggressive treatment protocols and he was only there for a day and a half, unfortunately Milos did not do as well and he was there for 3 1/2 days. This has caused us over $10,000 in medical fees and medications.
They are now both being isolated at home and we are giving them the in-home care treatment protocols and medications recommended by the vet. Hopefully they will both make a full recovery and have no long-term health consequences.
This is not just about money for us. No puppy should have to undergo this horrible, horrible disease and no new pet owner should have to go through the emotional and financial turmoil that we have unnecessarily been put through. I have had dogs my entire life and I have never had a dog diagnosed with Parvo .
Candi , as a breeder, you should have way more transparency and business practices.
1. You should clearly state that you do not have a licensed veterinarian administer the vaccines to your puppies rather, you do it yourself.
2. You should also state that you do not do individual wellness checkups on your puppies , rather you do litter checkups with your vet. There are huge and important differences between the two.
3. You should also state that you do not give health certificates for your puppies, which would be filled out by a license veterinarian and meets all the criteria. Healthcare certificates are actually required to fly a puppy into the state of Florida. We do not know how you were able to bypass that requirement .
Also, the box with the antibiotic that was sent for Milos was actually written out for a different dog -look at the box and look at the date. It says July 30, 2024, and the Pomeranian dog was vixen.
Milos was seen by the vet on July 31, 2024. Per the handwritten letter that we received.
Candi, you might seriously want to consider cleaning up your act as a breeder. You cut corners, you misrepresented yourself and your breeding practices and your healthcare practices pertaining to your puppies. You and your travel nanny have serious miscommunications, and unrealistic expectations. Like we said before, no puppy should have to suffer what our puppies suffered and no new puppy owner should have to go through this ordeal.
Candi, it's difficult to believe that you have been in business as long as you reportedly have. Most business owners realize that business comes first and emotions should stay out of the picture. Problems and discrepancies can be discussed and solutions can be implemented. Tantrums are communication blockers and lead nowhere. We have attempted to contact you via text messages, your web site, telephone, instant messaging and Facebook. But you remain unresponsive. Do you really think that is going to help your situation?
Kindly, enjoy the rest of your day,
