Just off of Alameda Central, Mexico City's oldest public park, is a little Italian spot. My five-year-old daughter was craving pizza and Yelp directed us to it. The service was kind. (They even brought out a bowl of water for our puppy.) However, the food was average as were the drinks. Here's our review: -Four cheese pizza- one of the cheese included is bleu cheese and it comes with sliced white grapes on top. I kind of enjoyed the combination of flavors, but my wife and five-year-old daughter weren't huge fans. The crust was one thing we could agree on- so good! -Burrata- it had all the elements, but didn't taste fresh or flavorful. -Sangria- it was way too sweet and watered down. I have a sweet tooth, but it was a little too much.

I'm very angry this isn't where I live. This is do damn good I'll be looking forward to my next Mexico City trip just to eat here. GREAT pizza! I had a Vino de Allá cocktail that was very good and refreshing. The pepperoni pizza is good and the Gorgonzola & Pear pizza blew my mind!

Great experience at Amaya last night! A couple of friends recommended we come here while in CDMX,…read moreso we went for my boo's birthday. We started with the soft shell crabs and ceviche. I loved the ceviche-the tortilla at the bottom gave it a nice crunch and the spice level added an unexpected kick, which we liked. We shared the pan-roasted sea bass and the steak. The steak was outstanding - the cut and the grilling. If you don't like it too rare though, you might want to specify that to the waiter. The side potatoes were delicious, too! We ended with the berliners which were okay.I really wanted to try their profiterol, but I think I missed it on the menu and we had the berliners instead. I am going back again for their cocktails. The mezcal drinks were on point! We tried two different cocktails, and both highlighted different aspects of the types of mezcal. The tequila cocktail was also divine. I was so into the cocktails that I forgot to taste their natural wines, which were highly recommended. We'll be back again to try them, for sure. Finally, our waiter was great! He was fun and informative, helping us with the cocktail selection and suggesting certain dishes off the menu. He even sang happy birthday with me to my fiancée :)

They warned me and they were right, it takes 40-45 minutes to get a rice plate out. It was delicious, and I can appreciate the freshness, but that's a terribly long time to wait. Minus the wait I was asked half a dozen times if I wanted a drink which was maybe too attentive of the waitstaff. So it's a great choice for food, just know you might be waiting a bit.

What a place. I…read morefound myself on a mini creative sabbatical in CDMX, staying on Chapultepec and Insurgentes, right on the Roma Nte / Juarez border. This meant that if I wanted late night vibes, I was going to walk into Juarez. And more often than not, I'd find myself at Cicatriz, chatting with Dan behind the bar. Dan is the man -- chill vibes, always down to chat, and you wouldn't know it, but he's also a very talented skate photographer. I'd usually start with a Yoko, which is their take on an Aperol Spritz -- with Mezcal. Amazing. They have a fantastic selection of artisanal mezcals as well--served with oranges and sal gusano--and there's always a can of beer on the cheap to go with it. A few times they had cute female vinyl DJs spinning Italo Disco. I went to Cicatriz more than any other place in the two weeks I spent in Mexico City. It became a comfortable desintation. The Avena is delicious in the morning and their coffee is bomb. The Sandwich de Pollo Frito will raise your spirits and lunch or dinner time and the Tostada de Ricotta was satisfying too. And being on Glorieta Plaza Washington, you can watch an abundance of humanity moving through the city as you chill and enjoy the scene. All in all, Cicatriz gets my highest recommendation. Thanks Dan and crew...you made my stay awesome.

We…read moreopted for an outdoor table and experienced the most prompt and attentive service of our entire visit to Mexico City. The offerings at Romelia are comprehensive to say the least. We started with some delicious croquettes, followed by jamon iberico on toast, spicy charred pulpo, and finally two orders of tacos -- prawn and ribeye. Each dish was superb. The pulpo was expertly charred, and the flesh as tender as a gentle summer kiss. The tacos, which are made completely from scratch in house, embodied many of the rich flavors that make Mexico City one of the world's greatest culinary destinations. Even the side dish of butter we requested was exceptional; it tasted as if an abuela in the countryside had awoken early that same morning to milk her lone grass-fed cow and gently churn it just for our visit. We opted for a bottle of Toro (~$960?) to accompany our feast, which we regarded as a sensational value. It accompanied the food perfectly. In addition to his outstanding service timings, our waiter was kind, conscientious, and particularly patient with our subpar Spanish skills. Sometimes in life, happy accidents happen. This was one such occasion. We were very pleased to discover Romelia, and hope that we can experience it many more times during future visits to this great city.

The grilled octopus was amazingly tender and fresh, one of the best in all of Mexico so far. The Patatas Bravas were too covered in paprika to taste much else, so for me they're a skip. The pan con tomato (tomato toast) was also not great as the bread got soggy quickly and there was some odd taste. Not bad by any means, just not the best I've had. All in all though, Id return in a heartbeat as the vibe is so chill and pleasant and given how amazing the octopus was, I'd like to try even more off their menu.

I was captivated by the warm, eclectic ambiance--shelves stacked with old books, cozy little crannies, and fascinating antique items tucked into every corner. It felt like stepping into a hidden gem where every detail added to the charm. I ordered the As de Corazones, a gin-based cocktail with raspberry, egg white foam, and a spritz finish. It was hands-down the best cocktail I had in CDMX--beautifully balanced, slightly tart, and perfectly smooth. I also tried the Josita, which was incredibly refreshing (and deceptively strong!), making it the perfect drink to sip on while soaking in the atmosphere. Service was friendly and attentive, with bartenders who clearly know their craft. Whether you're a cocktail lover or just looking for a great spot to unwind, Pata Negra is a must-visit. (I even went back as a goodbye to CDMX on my last night)

They had a few TVs with some sports on which is why we chose this place. Service was friendly, and quick to take your initial order but after that it was kinda hard to order a second or third drink you really had to flag them down. We came back on a second visit and they were out of some of the beers we ordered the previous visit. On the plus side the beers were ice cold. Much colder than out of the refrigerator which made it so easy to drink.
