Provost is an unusual place, It has about 8 restaurants and 1297 hotels. A quiet town. Unfortunately, it wasn't like South Park so there were no hilarious shenanigans going on.
The hotel is situated right along the main highway, a short driving distance from many gas stations & restaurants. Since the town is fairly small, I suppose you could say that about anywhere in town.
I had never heard of Canalta before this. It looked, and was very well presented in the lobby. The front desk staff were terrific and we were off. I have a very bad track record with hotels, as once again, I was given a room on the third floor while both of the people I was with were placed on the first floor a short walk away. WHY DO HOTELS HATE ME!?
The room was awesome. Couch, desk, 2 TVs & a very comfortable bed. Here's the big problem I had : Both TVs were the same brand and model. Therefore, even when I was behind the wall seperating the main room from the bedroom, pushing a button on the remote would affect both TVs. For you non-nerds out there, this is because TVs use an infrared signal that bounces off of surfaces, and like a shotgun shell, spreads out. It gets weaker as it travels, but with a 10 foot bounce, I could still turn both TVs on with minimal effort. That wouldn't be a problem, but that there was no on or off button on either TV. Believe me, I looked everywhere for it.
Even the housekeeping staff were smiling and wishing me well each day. I don't think I could even fake that with what some of those perverts were likely doing on those sheets, desks, drapes etc the night before. I was asked throughout the week if I needed my sheets changed etc as I always had the do not disturb sign on my door. Nope. I travel how I live. Sheets and towels are cleaned each week. It's unfair to ask them to do them everyday, plus I hate when the sheets are tucked in haha.
I`m the type of redneck awesome that doesn`t require much from life beyond money, nerding out on a computer and playing Halo whilst riding a horse, shooting at watermelons on tree branches, and being fed popcorn out of a golden chalice. I`m pretty low maintenance.
Long review, but thank you for a great stay, Canalta. read more
