We had a problem starting our vehicle on Feb 2nd. The Waterdown location service manager(Jonathan Ruta) was great. After getting a boost from CAA we made it to Canadian Tire but arrived after service dept close. He arranged to have the battery replaced which solved the problem.Jonathan has been excellent in the past. Canadian Tire is my go to service provider. Thanks again Jonathan! read more

The rating I would give is (-5 stars) Here is why. I took my car in this morning to have only my backwinter tires put on, because I was missing 2 studs. I also requested to have the alignment done and the back tail light replaced as it was out. Before my car keys were in the possession of a staff member it was mentioned that the Ball Bearing on the rear passenger side would probably need to be replaced, because one of the "stud" was stuck. I got a call shortly after that, it looked like the baring was going to be a problem and my bill went from $272 to $1,600. What an awful feeling, how is that even possible. They even sent me a few photos of the "bent" bearing,which happened to be my Dust shield..I had  heard enough, and requested my tires (All 4, not sure why they took off the front ones but they did.) be put on and I would pick up my car and pay  for the "work" done. At this point I had declined to have the alignment done; however, the bill was still at a ridiculous $1,000. I asked how that was possible, and they proceed to tell me that they replaced my Break-pads & Rotors. WHAT!!!! How did we go from a"bent" bearing to replacements already completed?? I had them remove everything and put back my originals. The bill was still $779. They charged me$120/hr for 4.5hrs of work completed on my car. 4.5hrs to ("Remove and replace 5 wheel stud's. Track Threads") $540 for just that! On top of all that BS the so called mechanic "Torched the passenger rear rim", which now I have to replace because it's damaged. And they billed me to replace my tail light ($6.49) that they"forgot" to change. My sister who was driving behind me noticed that it was still out, I had to turn around and go back. I had asked the automotive staff member how long it would take to change the tail light, she (I don't think I need to include her name.) went to speak with the mechanic in the shop and came back with an estimated time of 20min. Perfect... I then replied I wanted a refund on the bulb (which was a 2 pack) and 30 minutes of labour, as that service had not been completed. With that request she then went back to speak with the Mechanic who had "forgotten"about the tail light. She then came back and said they do not charge labour on something so minor when a vehicle is in for other services. "we like to take good care of our customers" is what I was told, and with that I was refunded the light (6.49 +tax) What an absolute Nightmare. For anyone looking to have a tail light changed go to Mr. Lube on Appleby line, it's $10 and done in 5 minutes. read more

I left my car at Canadian Tire, Waterdown at 7:30am since they did not accept reservations. I left my keys in the drop box with an explanation about what I wanted done. I called back at 9:30 to ensure they got the info and understood what needed to be done on the car-winters on, oil change, diagnostic why the engine light was on, and emissions test. I called back at 2:45pm to ask when the car would be finished and found out they had not started on the car. After a number of excuses about 'being in line' of cars that were dropped off in the morning, I just asked for my keys back. Poor customer service, and poor explanation of why they had not even started the car even though it had been left with them for over 6 and a half hours. read more

I purchased some battery operated Christmas lights on Dec 23 during the hydro outage in Cambridge and they didn't note on the package that they were net lights. I didn't have time to return before Christmas so returned them after. I was told at the Waterdown location when I went in to return them that the Christmas decorations are final sale if not returned before Dec 23. I explained that notification of this would have been advisable and that in future I would be purchasing decorations at a different store. She said they could only give me a store credit. I ended up receiving a full refund as there was no notification in the store but found that the customer service representatives rude behaviour-interrupted me while talking and continued to serve me with attitude along with their return policy has left me feeling that I would prefer to give my patronage to a different store....say Rona, Home Depot, Weeks etc instead of Canadian Tire. read more
