AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Awful. Zero stars if there was the option. Lazy workers that do a poor job if they even do the job at all.

I stopped going to Canadian tire years ago because of their terrible return policy compared to Home Depot.

I've been to this Winners located at Bathurst and Lawrence multiple times in the past but only…read morerecently had the opportunity to review it. I like that this Winners is located along my route home. The store is located on the second floor of the building. Elevator and escalator access are available. I came here looking for dresses and shoes for upcoming weddings that I would be attending last fall. In the past I have noticed that this location carries a good selection of high end shoe brands and clothing. I've had success finding comfortable, affordable but fashionable shoes here. On one of my last visits the checkout lines were long but there were a number of staff serving at the counters so the wait was not too bad. Parking lots tend to get fairly full in this plaza and a bit convoluted to navigate. There are arrows painted on the lane ways to assist with directionality. Some people just choose not to follow these.

Out of the 3 Winners that we went to today, this one was actually the best one. It had high…read moreceilings, and lots of selection - more than the others. Maybe less people come here. They have a large selection of kitchenware, and I scored a great metal fruit basket for $8 and a stove top espresso maker for $12. I also found the American Eagle thumb hole fingerless gloves (lots of choice too) that they did not have in the other locations. I have to say, it was kind of mess, however, but what Winners isn't. I think this one had the most inventory and we found the most different items here. Be careful in the parking lot. Another one of those plazas where no one respects the lines, pedestrians or other vechicles

When you come in, it does give a slight attic smell, which I don't mind. They told me they usually restock on Thursdays and the other location by Sterling Road usually carries even more inventory. I purchased a shiatsu massager and back up Aukey earphones that were new in package from the Ex. However, the earphones didn't work. The great thing is they are one of the few or probably only liquidators that I know that allows for a 7 day return if there's an issue. Normally most discount liquidators I've been to, it's pretty much the final sale. I wasn't able to visit within 7 days, but did send them an email with the issue with the earphones so they extended the warranty for me to come in within the end of the month to get store credit or exchange, which I'm so grateful for. Apparently they sold hundreds of those earphones and only a few came back with issues. I was able to drop by yesterday after work and decided to exchange for another shiatsu massager for my in-laws. What I appreciate about this spot is that it's relatively organized in shelves with multiple copies of an item. There are bargain bins too for $5 if you really want to search for any deals and treasures. I much prefer than other liquidators where usually things are thrown in bins and you don't know exactly what it is until you open it. The staff there was also super patient and friendly. Definitely if you're in the area peek in and see if you score any deals. They will be moving back inventory from the Ex today and the pricing seems to be the same. Though they might offer tax off discounts with cash at the Ex but not at the store.

Disclaimer: This review focuses on a visit centred on the MAC counter in their cosmetics…read moredepartment. My sister and I got together at Yorkdale Mall to have lunch and celebrate my birthday. We thought it would be fun to get a makeover. I like MAC in particular, but their independent store is usually busy, and they no longer list any sort of complimentary service on their website offerings. Turned out that we were having lunch right across The Bay in The Cheesecake Factory, so I thought we could see what their MAC had to offer. Turns out that they do some complimentary makeup services if you ask for a particular element, e.g., cat eye makeup for, foundation application, etc. The staff had to wait until her coworker was back from break so that other customers could be covered, so she took my number and my sister and I wandered off till she contacted me. We were away some time, but it turned out I simply didn't hear my phone ring the 2 times she tried to call as it's pretty noisy throughout the mall. I saw she had tried, and when we headed back, she was good to go. She asked what aspect I'd like to focus on, and I went with skin applications. She explained why she chose what products and colours she went with, but still asked about blush colour in particular. She asked what I normally do and use. She made sure to clean her tools and provide sanitary samples of everything I tried. She did not rush, and asked how satisfied I was periodically as she progressed. I was very happy with the results. I asked about the skin serum in particular. She advised that it was something around $80 a bottle, but that she had one or so last holiday packages for $73 that had it included with cleanser and moisturizer, so I opted to get that. She also added a free, small pot of the foundation she had used, with the name written on the bottom so I'd know what to select if I wanted to get more later. I usually would prefer to go to an actual MAC store, but this experience at The Bay was better than what MAC had to offer. Would definitely go back, especially if the same staff was there.

They have many of the major brand names in fashion. They have a huge selection with lots of inventory. And best of all, their prices are amazing. Did you know that the Hudson's Bay Company is a major part of Canadian history? The company started back in 1670 and was a major player in the fur industry. It became Canada's largest corporation. So I'm guessing the "line problem" happens during later hours. The place is not the most organized but it's decent, you just have to follow the signs. On Saturday, January 3rd, 2026, from 9:45PM to 10:45PM…read more Firstly, I was shopping at the store and got pretty much all my items, except for one, which was the (Purina ONE True Instinct Grain Free Chicken, Dry Cat Food, 1.45-6.53 kg*). I asked the Beauty Associate if they had it in stock. She didn't know, since she works in the Beauty department. I understand; she told me to go to customer service to ask, and they would check if they had it in stock. I went to Customer Service and asked the lady if they had the item I mentioned (*) in stock. She told me they didn't have it in stock and it showed (Free Pickup over $35). I mentioned that it said they had the item available at the store, so why would I pay $35 to pick up my items when I could come to the store myself and pick them up for less? Also, your store slogan is "Save Money, Live Better". I ended up buying my cat a different dry food that she loves and can't stop eating, which makes me happy. The dry food I originally wanted cost more, so I saved money, and it was a win-win situation. Secondly, I was interested in purchasing Apple Earphones (wired version) and asked the lady who looked like she was working in the electronics department if she could check. She told me they didn't have any. I completely understand, since it isn't something everyone would buy. I have the Apple AirPods that died on me and need to replace them, so I decided to go old school and purchase the wired earphones (lightning connector) version to connect with my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I got the impression that she was too busy to help me out, so I didn't bother to ask her about anything else, since she looked kind of miserable, which didn't leave a good impression on me, so I left and checked out what I thought were vinyls, but it was the 2026 Calendars, which I wasn't planning to buy, but I decided to come back next time to buy it. I later purchased something in the beauty department and rated her customer service skills 5 stars. The only problem I have is that if she is pricing, it should be aligned with the product on the shelves. I took pictures to show my mom, and my mom noticed a price discrepancy. So instead of piecing your area, you should double-check your pricing, since the Scanning Code of Practice would have been something I would have brought up with her and her manager, but I ignored it, since I wanted to get out of the store quickly. Lastly, I was browsing around the dairy aisles and overheard the associates, maybe it was a lead with a pump truck, talking on the phone, which I thought was unprofessional, since I didn't know if you allow that on the sales floor. What made me feel bothered by the whole situation is that he didn't look like he was talking to someone from home, but it sounded like he was talking to a manager, because he mentioned that he had so much work to do and was complaining about it. I was saying to myself, why didn't you have the support? It sounds like he wanted to work, but not work so much, "Welcome to Retail"! Conclusion: I got what I needed, but I didn't get what I wanted. I found a substitute, and everything worked out in the end. My experience at the store was okay. The beauty associate was nice. She was the only one I would give a good rating. The rest of the associates (customer service, electronics, sales floor, merchandisers, etc.) I would give a bad rating based on the lack of customer service and organization. The layout of the store was okay, but the products were not presentable. I also found out that an associate is not grateful for the job he has, which was disheartening, since others would kill to work at Walmart, but the managers decided to hire the weak and lazy. Update: On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 11:30AM to 12:10PM. They had the specific item I was looking for on the shelf, but I was only browsing for something else. They didn't have the sought-after 2026 calendar, and the associate appeared too lazy to assist me in locating it. I also observed the same associate negligently ignoring another customer's request for help.

While I regularly frequent my local Costco at home in the States, every few visits to Toronto, I…read morefind myself stopping by Costco for one reason or another. This particular Costco is nicer than others with off and on long lines depending on the day and time. I always enjoy walking around, thinking of what my family can use and what we can get as gifts for others, and trying the samples (well, that's more or less me). My wife has used almost all of the different services and departments before. It's clear that there's something for everyone in Costco. This Costco in North York is my family's regular Costco to shop at. On one side of my family, I have memories of my grandfather stopping by for a hot dog and a drink and using an electric wheelchair through the store (and avoiding running people over). On the other side of my family, they make regular outings to get produce, meat, and any treats for the next week. On my last visit to Costco, my sister and I ran in for a few minutes to pick up some Canadian essentials to bring back as gifts to friends back at home. Once you are a member of Costco, you can purchase gas at the Costco Gasoline locations. There are then plenty of items including groceries that you can purchase often in bulk. The website now also includes a "treasure hunt" which is simply a rotating selection of items marked down or priced at extra value for a limited time. There is also a food court with very reasonably priced items including the long-time favorite of a jumbo hot dog and drink for only $1.50, which my grandfather and I used to love to get together. There is also travel, photos, pharmacy, optical, and more. Plus, you can get some tasty samples and even buy discounted gift cards. So joining Costco is about a lot more than just the gas, though that's certainly an attractive and added bonus to being a member! You can see the Costco website for this location at https://www.costco.com/w/-/on/north-york/535. Services include the gas station, food court, pharmacy, tire service center, optical department, and hearing aids. Other departments in the store including the auto buying program, bakery, fresh deli, fresh meat, fresh produce, membership, and T-Mobile cellular kiosk. Their Gold Star hours are weekdays from 10 AM to 8:30 PM, Saturday from 9:30 AM to 7 PM, and Sunday from 10 AM to 7 PM. These are the same hours for Business Members, and Executive Members can show up for an hour earlier on weekdays and Sundays and 30 minutes early on Saturdays. While we stopped by briefly this time, we look forward to doing some more shopping there on a future visit.

Canadian Costco is just as chaotic as it is in the states. In the states, Costco is notorious for only accepting Visa. It was a little getting used to for Canadian Costco to be the same except instead of Visa, it's Mastercard. There were some pretty bad French red wine here. Timberlay Bordeaux is one of the worst things I've ever tried. It made me think of Oberyn Martell's quote about King's Landing's wine being the equivalent of swill. You could probably get a better wine just aging Welch's grape juice, honestly. It's bizarre to me still you can't buy alcohol freely in Ontario without having to defer to the LCBO. Feels too restrictive for no good reason.
