This company treats employees like crap. My brother works at one of the stores in the GTA and hasn't had a raise in years.

Quite a selection of amazing computer accessories and parts. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable. I went down to pick up a new keyboard and ....WOW. A whole row of keyboards(30+) ranging from $28 to well over $100. I even saw a Corsair K90 mechanical keyboard I had never even heard about. I do like some of the smaller Mom and Pop stores but I hate to barter or keep asking for prices. Everything here is priced and reasonable. They have a decent website so I am able to look before heading down. I have been to some of the other locations but the College St location suits me best. Cons. Employees are on commission which can create its own set of problems. read more

Love this place. It's well stocked on computer parts and their prices are as good as or sometimes better than Newegg without having to wait. Their layout and practices fit my shopping style. I like to go in, grab what I want, and then head for the checkout. In and out in 10 minutes without being held up by "helpful" sales staff like at futureshop. On top of that, it's pretty easy to locate one of the sales staff when I actually need help. I just wish it was easier to order out of stock items. The store staff aren't usually inclined to do that. If it's out of stock, I'm out of luck. read more

I have spent a substantial amount of money in this store and definitely have a few horror stories but my opinion boils down to this: their customer service is completely dysfunctional. Whenever I have to interact with the staff, I either feel treated extremely poorly or I feel as though my time was utterly wasted. The experiences I've had with this company that weren't soul crushing involve me being in and out of there without requiring any interaction with the stuff and then, when I was lucky enough that my purchase didn't turn out to be defective, which happened roughly two thirds of the time. A few days ago I had to return a piece of faulty hardware and again, had to deal with the rudeness of their customer service. This time I really felt like chump. It was bad enough to have wasted hours of work because of the deficient component I had bought there, why put myself through that? I shopped at that store maybe four or five of times, because of their selection and the convenience of the location but no more! My two cents: there are so many other options to buy computer hardware, whether you need service or not, save yourself the trouble and stay away from Canada Computers. Purchased an Acer Laptop (refurbished) from them about 3 months ago and from the start it ran sluggish, hung while trying to startWord or Excel and boot up time took very long. It was advertised on a sticker on the laptop having an AMD 6 chipset with 6 GB of DDR3 RAM so couldn't understand why it ran so poorly. Shortly afterwards I checked out the RAM installed and these bastards only installed 2GB of RAM. Ran back to the store to complain and of course they could not do anything. Word t o any buyers, check out everything 100% even if it's boxed to get what you PAID for. I now can find better deals and better qualify computer stuff off Kijiji. ALERT never buy anything from .@CC_Deals Canada Computers & Electronics they are scammers. Their Toronto 284 store pulled the old bait and switch on me. On the Canada Computers & Electronics website they listed a LG Monitor (27UL850-W) as new. I ordered the monitor online. The store located on college street sent me an email stating that the item I ordered was a "Open Box" item. They did not offer any discount and asked me if I still wanted to purchase the item. I replied asking it there was a discount. The replied yes that there would be a 10% discount. I agreed and purchased the item on Dec 10th. On Dec 11th I went to pick up the monitor from the Toronto store on college. The box was resealed and I paid for it and took it home. After getting the item home and opening it a few hours later I discovered that the monitor inside the box was a different model from the one I purchased. The monitor inside the box is a LG Monitor (27UL550-W). It is a cheaper LG model with less feachers but looks almost identical to the other LG models. I sent emails to the Toronto store with no reply. I packed up the monitor and took it back to the toronto store on college to get a refund. There after the second person came to help me they when to talk to their manager (there was no manager in the store only a supervisor). They proceeded to tell me there is nothing they can do. They said they scan monitors as they are returned and not the box so there is no way that there is a different monitor in the box. They told me the original item was returned in October. So I can only assume someone defrauded them and they are trying to pass on the monitor to a customer or someone in the store purchased the cheaper model (it's about $250 cheaper) and swapped out the monitors. This is a pretty big location and is impressive at first glance, but has seemed understaffed the couple times I've gone in there as getting someones help is hard to come by until you're in line waiting to pay. They also had a ridiculously small selection of hdmi cables when I was there last, but the guy claimed someone came in earlier in the week and cleaned them out, so maybe I just timed my visit poorly. I did however get a good deal on a surge protector. Not sure what to say about this location yet. While the storefront seems nicer, I seemed to have better shopping experiences at the location they had on the corner of College & Augusta. read more

Do the world a favor and shut this company down! They take no ownership or responsibility for the products they sell to their customers. I bought a D-Link Wifi Extender from them and the download speeds on the device were unacceptable no matter where I had it in the house. When I took it back for a refund all they had to say was "Well, I have the same one at home and it works perfectly.". Also "Talk to D-Link.". All I heard was "It's not our problem if you don't like the product that you bought from us, we are keeping your money because you opened the product and there is technically nothing wrong with it." I Purchased a pair of shox 808 performer Bt headphones. They worked great for a short while. The Bluetooth won't charge. I returned them to Canada Computers on Kennedy Road. They said they needed the box and the receipt. I went back today with the box and the receipt which took me a while to find. Today they tell me it is now over the 3 months and they will not exchange it or return it to the supplier for repair. If this is the kind of after sales survice you offer, It will be the last time I ever buy from any of your stores. I find the after sales service disgusting. Once you have purchased something you are not interested. I will make sure all my friends know not to buy anything from your stores. Better shop at Walmart or Costco. I've been here on two separate occasions and I would never ever go back. This place has the absolute worst customer service I have ever seen. The first time I was there I was yelled at when I asked for help choosing parts and then recommended (and later realized) I was given the worst computer case which could not be returned. The second time I went, I was asked if I was buying parts for my boyfriend because apparently women don't know anything about computers. That might sound harsh but the man buying parts beside was just as offended as I was, so it wasn't just me. Overall I have never been so disgusted by a business and I am not searching for an alternative store to shop at. I ordered several monitors for our health centre and was told they were back ordered and may take up to 3 weeks. I was fine with that, but over a month later heard nothing. I had to email them for an update and was basically told I have to continue to wait. Again after a while I had to email them to ask again, same answer. After that they gave me an update saying back ordered still and eventually said they couldn't get them and refunded my money. Generic apology, no option for replacement, and no compensation for having our money for over 3 months. The worst part is I ended up ordering them directly from the manufacturer at the same price and got them within a week. How is that possible? Ignorant and Dismissive Management. I went into buy a mouse, I found a model that was on sale, and one of those had a big sticker on "OPEN BOX 10% Off". The cashier could not figure out to apply to discount and called the manager for assistance, he popped up for one second, said "already too low" then walked away. I asked the cashier to call him back so he could actually do his job and help her figure it out. He came back annoyed, told me the price was already too low because of the sale and he would not honour the 10% off for having an open box. He was incredibly rude and dismissive, claiming he didn't have to do anything and I was free to go shop elsewhere. I ordered something online only to find out that they didn't have the item I ordered in inventory, obviously I cancelled the order. After the order was cancelled I bought the same model at a different store. Fast forward to 4 weeks later they and still did NOT process the return. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! I bought a camera online on Thursday, picked it up Friday, tried it Saturday and it was defective. Called the London store (nice staff!) - they weren't sure when or even if they could get a replacement and said they couldn't bring one in from another store. I called their customer support line (again nice but not very helpful staff) - there was a camera in their Milton store but I'd have to drive there from London to pick it up (they wouldn't transfer it to London or ship it to me). Apparently this is a new 'policy' which basically means if you buy something and it's defective there's a good chance all you'll get is a refund because they would sooner lose a customer (which they now have) than have something sent from one store to another. This will be going to the Better Business Bureau! read more

I purchased the Asus Transformer book on March 25th from the Queensway location of Canada Computers. By Sunday I had a screen flicker. I contacted Asus and they recommended that I format and refresh my Windows 10, by that point I decided I needed to take it back and purchased a Microsoft Surface from Best Buy (Great by the way). I took the Asus back this morning and the Manager told me "we can take that back because it has been activated". He was speaking about the Office 365 subscription that is included with the Asus. I noted that I own a business subscription and told him that I did not need it. He told me that I could not get my money back for the whole computer because the Office subscription might have been activated. Finally he agreed to call Microsoft to confirm, but said to me "I will call if you want to wait." We are talking about $400 dollars here! Finally they scammed their way out of saying it was defective because the flicker wasn't there! I told them I had formatted it before bringing it back. They still charged me a 10% restocking Fee. Ordered a printer 11 days ago and I have heard zero since, no shipping number, no ETA. The transaction came off my credit card but I do not have a printer or any indication that i will be receiving one. I have Called the Customer service number several times only for it to automatically hang up on me. I waited on the online Chat feature for over an hour and a half. and i have send many emails only to receive no reply. I placed an order for about 15000$ on the online store. After 3 weeks, I receive an email saying they do not have the item in stock anymore but can offer me another one similar for 5000$ more. I decided to cancel the order, it's been 3 weeks and they never refunded my 15000$, they stopped responding to my emails and calling the online store is really hard. The only time I was able to reach an human, the person said she was transfering me but it simply returned to the main menu "Press 1 for... Press 2 for..." I bought a laptop from Canada Computer Ajax on August 2017. It was a brand new Lenevo. After just three months it's software crashes. Today, December 24 around 1.20 pm I took my laptop to Canada Computers to fix it because it is still under 1 year manufacturer warranty. But instead of sending it to manufacturers to fix it free of cost they charged me $80. They said software is not covered my manufacturer warranty. However, when I bought this in August 2017 nobody said about software cost. It is like cheating me. They gave me the wrong information re: the amount of ram my computer can use and then refused to refund the ram even though I was completely prepared to buy the right amount of ram from them. I don't think anybody should come here because they refused to take responsibility for making the mistake in the first place by giving me incorrect information. Instead they decided to charge me a restocking fee because I did not have the packaging even though I had the half of the plastic packaging. Ordered an item online on Black Friday, which was in stock according to their website at the time of my order. Aside from the initial email confirming that the order was submitted (didn't even state the credit card was verified), I heard no further communication from Canada Computers. I attempted multiple times to call into their online sales phone number throughout the week, and the line was never answered. This appears to be similar to what others have experienced. After a week, I decided to submit a ticket inquiring about the status of my order. I received a response stating that they are unable to honor the Black Friday price, the order has been cancelled and I would have to submit a new order if I still want the item. I have shopped at physical Canada Computers stores before and have never had any trouble. This is extremely unprofessional conduct by a big retailer in the field. After speaking to a store manager (the only folks actually picking up the phone), it seems that they have recently significantly reduced their online sales team, hence the extremely poor customer service. My issue goes beyond service, as my initial order was denied out right, more than a week after ordering, and only after I submitted a ticket to inquire about it. This is the last time I will ever attempt to order something through Canada Computers. Use their online ordering system at your own peril. Have a back-up plan and don't be surprised when your order is denied. read more

Do not bring your computer in for them to fix! Someone who works there will try to charge you more !!! I paid $50 upfront for diagnostic fee and will go towards to fixing if it is needed. Someone called me and said we did a basic cleaning so there's no extra charge. I clearly made sure twice that there wasn't any extra charge. When I went there to pick up my computer, the ginger hair gentlemen said there's going to be extra $29.99 because we did cleaning. I was really tired that day, so I was like okay, whatever not a big deal. I went home, and realized they didn't put my computer in properly as it was falling apart. It wasn't screw in or it wasn't place in properly I DO NOT KNOW. All I know is, the bottom is hanging loose and when I left my computer up it "TURNS OFF"! I decided to call in today regarding this matter. Whoever I was on the phone with was reading the notes off, "there was no cleaning or fixing done... no extra charge...!" It was something like that. Anyways, that ginger hair dude told me that "We did this and that we took it out apart blah blah blah...therefore charging you $29.99 ". I later found out they didn't even do the cleaning and "HE" charged me for it. He literally RIPPED me off!!!!!!! The only reason why I'm giving them 2 stars is because, another guy I spoke with today, is refunding me the money because that ginger hair dude was not suppose to charge me. Also, re-assemble my computer back together without charging. On, Wednesday, May 1st, I visited Canada Computers located in Oshawa to see if they would price match the AMD Threadripper 1950x CPU that Newegg had for $809. Clerk went to talk to his manager presumably believing I could not hear them. They weren't talking about 1950x, but the i9 9900 which had me scratching my head. But I would soon realize why. Clerk comes back with news they couldn't match Newegg, but offered to sell me a month old i9 9900 gaming rig he had in his basement. He added that it would blow away the 1950x system I planned to build. When I declined, that was the cue for the manager to intervene. He proceeds to claim that the AMD Threadripper series was horrible in all respects and didn't come close to match Intel's offerings. You'll need to be someone with Down's syndrome to believe that lie. I left the store with my intelligence profoundly insulted as I have built over 20 systems and the fact I'm an engineer, even more so. Fast forward to Friday, May 3rd. Needed to purchase a 2080 TI by Gigabyte. Online stock level said Oshawa had one but opened box. I returned to the store and 3 clerks I spoke to all insisted it was new and if it was an opened box, there would be a tag saying so. They charged me full price instead of the 10% off. When I get home, not only was the inner anti static bag not sealed with Gigabyte yellow tape they use to document the factory seal, but the bag itself was replaced with a smaller one. It was unsealed because the generic tape they used was no longer sticky. The bag was so small that the corner of the graphics card tore a hole. Furthermore, the display-port and one of the HDMI plugs to cover their respective holes were missing. Whoever purchased and returned this item had lost them. And how do I know all this about the inner package details, from the exact same GPU I purchased from the Whitby store a few months earlier. I gave the store ample opportunity to make this right and they elected not to. At this point, I don't even care that Canada Computers bilked me for $160 selling me a used GPU. My only desire now is to share this underhanded scheme with as many review sites and online forums I can find and let public opinion provide a verdict. I will tell the tale that this was a coordinated team effort of deception and misinformation starting from the manager down to the retail staff on 2 consecutive visits. How someone at the Oshawa store deliberately removed the bag with the broken factory seal and replaced it with a smaller with hopes the next buyer would be unaware it was used. If they used the original bag with the broken seal, they would immediately recognize it was a returned item entitling them to a 10% discount. A process whose only purpose is to disguise a used product to look new. They'll be also interested to know that I performed a covert audit on 5 open box items at the store from the online inventory of Oshawa. All five represented the last remaining inventory for each respectively. As for the results, only 3 had the open box tag entitling the buyer to the 10%. Other 2 were altered to hide the fact they were open box items. Both had slight discoloration where isopropyl alcohol was used to remove the sticker used to seal box and it was used to remove the adhesive residue to ensure the item looked new. I imagine that the question that will be asked the most is if this is a chain wide practice was mandated by the head office to help bolster revenue. read more

Very helpful and knowledgeable, and was able to diagnose the problem in 2 hours. A tad pricey for the service and extra component, but acceptable. Sucks that the new part I bought from the store had a bent prong, but I had a replacement at home so no big deal. read more
