Mr. Phuong is a camera expert. I got some sand in my Ricoh GR II and brought it in once the lens cover stopped working. He was not excited about fixing it, saying that sand is the worst thing for cameras, and initially said it would take too long . But after some chatting over street photography, he offered to repair it for a reasonable price and would get it back to me in 3 weeks. Sure enough, 3 weeks later it was repaired, although it took some follow up on my part. It's been over a month since the repair and it works beautifully. I would first like to say that this was my first ever time coming here for anything. And please read the whole review. So there's a story about how I found out about Mr. Phong. At the bargain camera show I bought a Leica M2 for a good amount of money. Now while I was looking at the camera the seller at the show kept telling me it was CLA'd by someone local about 3 months ago.. so I end up buying it and take it home and put 2 rolls through it. Turns out the higher speeds weren't showing any exposure. So I message the seller and he told me that he never guaranteed the camera would work and all sales are final. Basically he lied and deceived me thinking it was working. So then the seller he will give the number for the person who CLA'd it and it was Mr. Phong. I call Mr. Phong and tell him the situation and he informs me that he hasn't worked on a M2 in a while and the seller lied to me and that I should ask him for a refund because if I bring the camera to him he will have to charge me and that's not fair because I thought it was working. Then Mr Phong told me if the guy doesn't give me a refund just bring the camera to him and he'll help me out because that guy is screwing me. I try to get a refund from the seller but if course he says no and all these other excuses and said he will txt me the receipt for the CLA. He never emailed me anything. So few days later I give up on the refund and take the camera to Mr Phong and I ask him if he remembers taking to me about my situation, he said yes. I hand him the camera and he immediately said yeah..I would never give a customer a camera like this if I CLA'd it. Then he tells me that the camera was likely never worked on. He then offers to help me out because of what was happening to me and offered me a "special price". He said it will take him 4ish days to complete the CLA for me and he would call me when it's ready. 2 days later he calls me and tells me that the camera is ready. So I go pick it up and it works so smoothly and all issues are resolved and I can't believe it! I get excited and start to leave without paying!! Ahhh but of course I pay and thank him for all he's done for me and that I would never forget such a kindness and if I ever need a camera fixed that he gonna be my first visit. I had brought my lens due to my auto focus not working the owner told me it was a 2 day turn around . After looking at my lens he said he needed another week , i told him no worries. He originally told me $200 to repair. After a week i had called to check on the status , he told me he needed more time . For the price he had given i was willing to wait. After another week he stopped taking my calls , i had called 15x before he had answered. when he did he explained he could not fix it but he had the same lens he could sale me for $1000 . The way he had explained it was the lens i had brought was not able to be fixed with out spending $2K . So i agreed to pay the $1000 for his lens . 3 months later the ring popped off while connected to my camera. When i brought it to my new repair shop in upland , he had shown me how the last shop used short thin screws and they had completely stripped the threads and thats why it had popped off so easily. Save your money and look else where for your camera or lens repair needs. Love supporting small businesses and i hate that i feel SCAMMED by this shop. read more

I've been to many camera shops before, and there was a local shop that I go to in Anahiem that does a pretty good job on repairing my cameras. However I have to say this spot does a great job as well. Owner is a friendly guy, and is very knowledgable on the equipment and has an idea of what is wrong with the camera you want to repair. He also has cameras to sell, and I've bought a few products from him. Pricing is very fair, and the amount of work he puts in is very much worth it! Personally I believe there is value in taking in equipment to have it fixed up as opposed to buying new equipment leaving the old in the dust bin. I've taken my equipment to him for servicing many times, and they're pretty much new at this point. If we're talking about logistics, since I work in and out of LA his shop is usually on the way to work and on the way home which is very convenient on my end. Highly recommend photographers to come out to him for repairs. read more
