You won't wander more than 2 minutes until someone realizes you need help. However the store is pretty small and you should be able to find what you're looking for in 2 minutes. It has all the basics of a drug store and a pharmacy in back. It's a throw back to friendly community stores from your child hood.

Although it is set a short distance away from the edge of the falls, it is close enough to the falls to occasionally enjoy a refreshing spray. From here, you can get a clear view of all three falls, including American Falls, as well as the mesmerizing rapids. The boarding area for the Maid of the Mist tours is located at the base of the tower, accessed by a high-speed elevator from the observation deck. The base of the tower also provides access to the Crow's Nest, a smaller observation area located much closer to the falls. You do not need to go on a Maid of the Mist tour to go to the lower level, but there is a small fee for the deck and elevator.

Maybe it's because I'm used to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. Canadians will say that it's the nicer Falls, with the floral clock, Skylon Tower, Hershey's, Fallsview Casino and Hotel, and more. The Falls on this side of the border are equally as stunning. What is cool about the Rainbow Bridge that connects Canada and the United States, you can cross in a vehicle or on foot, as long as you have proper documentation. It's cool. If I did the latter at Emerson-Pembina (Manitoba-North Dakota) border, I'd probably get a bunch of nasty stares! I recently stayed in Niagara Falls, NY. It was mainly because hotel prices were cheaper than in Buffalo. I'm glad that I did. The Courtyard hotel that I stayed at used to be a chocolate factory. One of the reasons why I loved staying there was because it had reminders of its past in the form of a mini museum. It was a gem of a find. This tourist enjoyed learning about the area quietly. Nearby was Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino. I used to work in the gaming industry and only heard about casino locations. It was cool driving back to the hotel at night and passing by this casino that had coloured lights illuminating the place. The Courtyard hotel where I was staying at seemed to be having an exterior lights dual with this casino. If you're a Canadian yearning for your favourite American items, you don't need to hit Buffalo. Niagara Falls is where you want to be. Trader Joe's. Ollie's. Wegmans. Tops. Duff's. Dunkin'. Olive Garden. It's a shorter distance to get your shopping and food fixes. I was only in the area for just under two days. Locals were so nice and friendly. They made my short stay enjoyable and memorable. I particularly liked dropping by Crush It Nutrition to get shakes and teas with no to low sugar. I thought that I either wouldn't be able to find such a place or would need to venture into Buffalo. I was grateful to have found this studio within a ten-minute drive from my hotel. It also helped that the owner was nice and chatty. I like when I make travel plans, and end up making a lot of fond memories and gaining an appreciation for a city that I took for granted. It was cool figuring Niagara Falls out for a brief time. It has left me wanting to go back to discover it some more. (157)

Shopping, eating, more shopping, sightseeing, historic sites, museums and casino gambling. There are a number of hotels that overlook Niagara Falls and of course, it's better from the Canadian side. Keep in mind that the legal drinking age in Canada is 19 so you're going to encounter a number of under 21 Americans who are interested in getting their drink on. So watch yourself and look out for drunk drivers! There are a few options for crossing the border - the Rainbow Bridge is the most popular and will have the longest queue. https://www.ezbordercrossing.com/list-of-border-crossings/new-york/ and consider the Peace Bridge or the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge. I had a very frustrating and unprofessional experience at this branch while trying to apply for a…read morehealth card. I presented valid documentation showing my legal status in Canada (a PGWP application that allows me to work and remain in Canada while waiting for the actual permit), which is accepted by IRCC, my employer, and other ServiceOntario locations (as I later confirmed). But it was not good enough for the staff here. The employee "assisting" me insisted that I had to go to a different "headquarters" location in order for my documents to be valid for this application. Their manner was unnecessarily aggressive and dismissive, especially considering I was simply trying to access a health card. I went to a different ServiceOntario location the same day (not the 'headquarters' one). Staff reviewed the exact same documents and processed my OHIP application without any issues or questioning. After reading other reviews (on Google, not here), it appears that misinformation is REPEATEDLY being given at this location. This causes people to lose time, money, and access to essential services due to staff not being properly trained about their services and basic human decency. I would strongly suggest avoiding this branch and going to another ServiceOntario location where staff are knowledgeable and actually willing to help.

Another National Historic Site checked off! Fort Mississauga is worth a visit if you are at…read moreNiagara-on-the-Lake, as it is not too far from the Historic Old Town. This building is full of history and you will definitely enjoy knowing its story and the strategic value it held. I especially enjoyed the views with the fort and the lake side-by-side. The building has recently gone through a renovation in 2020 - 2021, and a walking trail was constructed leading to the shoreline. This is why the building is now in much better shape with the walls intact. A new roof has also been installed on top. I hope one day we could see what is inside or have tours at certain times in the week. Winter is a bit harder to come by as the trails are not maintained.

Just walk along the Front street into golf course and you would see it. I highly recommend it during the visit of this small town. This site is small, but it is still well maintained and you could learn a lot about history. The view from here is awesome.
