Tube Park Review This review is specific to the Tube Park. Highly recommend getting tickets ahead of time online. All sessions for the day were sold out when we visited. The lodge area for the tube park is very small, so don't expect to be able to change clothing quickly inside due to how busy it is. There's a fire place inside and a huge fire pit outside. Very small concession inside with about 8-10 small snack items to choose from. The staff here are top notch - very kind to each other and talkative to visitors. 10 minutes before the session starts, the group gets a safety briefing and reviews the rules. There's a nurse/medic on site. This is fun for the whole family. 1200 feet long and very fast. Be sure to read the requirements online for kids. Extra safety precautions are taken onsite for young kids. read more

Ate dinner here and had a great experience food wise, service wise and a beautiful view! Group of 5, and we all enjoyed our meals. The wings were cooed very well, and the pizza was nice and crispy. My friend had the steak and said it was cooked well, and really enjoyed the onion rings. Another dining companion enjoyed their burger. Service was on-point and you can't beat the view overlooking the resort valleys and the mountains in the distance! read more

The website pics do not do this place justice. It's much more beautiful when you're there than the pictures online make it out to be. They need to hire a better photographer for their site. The staff is what makes this place shine. Everyone I encountered was super friendly and helpful. From checking in, to getting packages that were shipped, to the staff at the restaurant and bars were super friendly. The food was all pretty good too. The chicken served in the conference area was some of the juiciest chicken I've had. Kudos! Oh, and the bacon at breakfast, thick and crispy! The room was spacious and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The views are awesome, especially in the morning. There are deer that roam the grounds and seem used to the people where they don't run away from you. I didn't try to hug one or anything. Never again. There are a few places around (breakfast, pizza, bars, etc.) to the north towards Davis, WV, but not much. The food options at the resort would probably get old after 2-3 days so if you're here longer, just try and diversify at the restaurants. If I was trying to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, this is a good spot for that. I will say there are probably better places to disconnect, but if you're in the area and like back roads to get to your destination, then this might be right up your alley. read more

Room and lodge seem nice but overall pretty run down and very expensive for what you get. Our hotel room had mold in the ac unit, no dnd signs up at front desk and the hot tub is completely broken and doesn't look like it will get repaired soon. The elevators are also out of service date and snow does not get shoveled very well from any of the doors, especially the side doors. read more

I showed up early to a conference hoping to check in. My room wasn't ready. "Please come back closer to 4 and we will see if your room is ready.". That's it..no offer of other items to do...no we have a lovely cafe you can wait in...or here's a map of the park with items that are open...nothing. So I come back at four after talking with park staff who don't work at the hotel and they help me figure out the place and find something to do. The park has great geocaches by the way. Check in is at 4...room still not ready. 4:15 and the room still wasn't ready.... Now you would think that they would have just put me in another room that was ready with the balcony that was requested. But no... I had to wait until 4:37 to check in. read more

This is a great place during anytime of the year. I really enjoy being here during the fall as the trees and leaves are beautiful and captivating. I've been coming here since I was a kid and things have changed a lot over the years. It's a very nice place to enjoy a wide variety of things including, hiking, biking, skiing, swimming, shooting, golfing, food, cocktails, etc. The rooms here could be better and tbh it always boggles my mind how WV State Parks do not offer discounted rates to WV residents. Also, charging hotel prices for state resorts isn't a good business practice especially for its residents. I know surrounding states offer discounts to its residents. Change that WV. I like all this place has to offer and the amenities are plentiful for all types of people and the surrounding areas of Thomas and Davis are filled with great shops and restaurants. They are two of my favorite small towns in the USA. Also, Dolly Sods, Seneca Rocks, and Spruce Knob are all a short drive away. Enjoy the area and all it has to offer :D read more

I was here rather recently after months of using my magnifying glass for finding hidden West Virginia resorts. Caught off guard, I stumbled across the majestic, characterful Canaan Valley Resort State Park near Davis. The price I didn't have to pay was worth the time I stayed. I was stunned by the raw picturesque features of the region -- with mountain after mountain fighting over who wanted to photobomb each of my epic photos. However, it took me four tries to get the keys to my room as the bigshot tourist who stayed before me seemed to get too comfy in his accommodation. No more time wasting for that guy. I will be back -- after I finally recover the patience I lost when waiting for the nearby clouds to stop crying. read more

I really enjoyed my stay here. This property is very clean and the staff was very helpful. The only offered buffet for breakfast which I am not a fan of, but I did eat a few meals at the cafe and I also drank several coffees in the cafe (Starbucks) as well. They serve ice cream as well so I made several affagatos as well, vanilla bean ice cream with a double espresso on top. Best part of my afternoon everyday I was here. I shopped in the store as well and bought some wine and a few other things. I was surprised when I went to town and found similar items and they were cheaper at the resort. That made me very happy. I would be happy to stay here again. read more

Dated but decent state park conference center with hotel. It's not really a resort; most average hotels have the same amenities. The rooms are very dated, and ours smelled like an old man. The bed was horrible though. I ended up having to take Tylenol the 2nd morning of our stay. Everything seemed pretty clean, but the smell was persistent. The staff were friendly and check in was easy. There are 2 "towers" and you have to access them either from outside the center main building or take an elevator downstairs and then walk down a hallway to another elevator to go back up into the tower your assigned to. The golf course was spectacular with great views, wild animals, and spongy fairways. Clean and well kept.

We've been going to the Canaan Valley resort for the last six years for ski trips. We enjoy staying at the resort. It has many amenities, an ice skating rink, indoor pool & hot tubs, gift shop, game room and two restaurants plus a bar/lounge. They have a bus that will take you to the mountain ski area & tubing hill. COVID has put a dent in the hours that the cafe & restaurant are open and when the shuttle runs during the winter season. This is mostly due to lack of staffing. This resort is very convenient to Davis, Thomas and Blackwater Falls. They do have a golf course, hiking trails and a park and pool for the warmer months. read more

We were informed that in order to bring our dog, we would have to stay in a cabin rather than the main lodge. This bumped the price to $220 per night. The cabin was a 2 bedroom unit and had no air conditioning!! Daily Temps were close to 90 degrees so it was warm in the cabin. The cabin itself was old and dated. The floors were filthy as were the window sills and the front of the fireplace was covered with soot. The kitchen was dated and cramped. The bathroom was ridiculously small and I had a difficult time bending over in the shower to pick up my razor when dropped. The rest of the bathroom was also terribly small. The living room couches had a ridiculous Slope to the back of the couch which made them very uncomfortable. Additionally, we killed at least 3 large jumping spiders per day, and one even was found in my granddaughters clothes. Ok, the cabin was in the woods, but the cabins could have been sprayed for bugs!!! All in all, it was a very disappointing place to stay and I would not recommend the cabins to anyone. My friends tell me the lodge was pretty nice, but if you have a dog or Kittie, your out of luck!!! read more

This is a basic ski resort. Nothing fancy. No night time skiing or nice food selection in the food court. Super basic. I only recommend if you want to get away from the Northern VA hustle. Slopes weren't too crowded, but it was rather icy. Please note if you buy tickets online you can't refund them for ANY reason. Also, the equipment has to be taken home if you rent for 2 days make sure the skis fit in the car. Overall, if you are a beginner they have several green slopes. Would I go again? Probably but I definitely will not buy online again. read more

4 day 3 night stay for a very large conference check in was decent, very slow but the ladies were nice, enter first room, very dirty. There were toenail clippings on the floor, on the bed, the bathroom had hair on the sink, in the bathtub, just over all dirty. I go back to the front desk and the lady "Dreama" said this has been a nightmare so many people have complained their room is dirty. Our room was upgraded due to being such a large conference they were almost fully booked. 2nd room was "checked" for "cleanliness" was told it was great. My husband went in to take a shower and was yelling oh my gosh that's disgusting. The shower curtain has mold on it! Back to the front desk I go. When we are brought a new shower curtain Dreama said they turned over 137 rooms the day before. Mold doesn't grow over night like that. We are in room 150 and I keep smelling dog urine. Had the housekeeping staff come in and they smell it as well. They coated the room in febreeze but that's not gonna help much. The set up of the hotel is awkward, it's like walking through a maze and you have to go down to be able to go up. The amenities the hottub has a brown foam on it, the pool area needs cleaned up. The restaurant food is pretty bland but the Cafe has Starbucks and the pizza is pretty good. I love the views and all the wildlife that browse the property. read more

12/31/24 - we visited the tube park from 1230-1430. We attempted to purchase tickets online and was told none were available. At 1000 we visited in person and were told that no tickets were available and then upon checking the computer, 5 were available. we purchased those and were told that there were no more available tickets. when we came back at 1230 there were roughly 30 people present out of the "75" they were allowed. Again, they said they had no available slots. approximately 15 minutes into the time frame, the state park rangers arrived and started talking with one of our party members. the indoor staff had called the police because they believed we were cheating them out of money and not complying with their rules. after a back and forth the ranger told us that they were having issues with the inside staff and that the problems would be addressed. In all the years that we have been coming to the valley, this was the worst interaction that we have had and what made it the worst was that it was not just one person, it was the entire inside staff. I will say that this was the most unpleasant interaction that my family has ever had at cannan and hope that they figure out a way to resolve the situation... if not I do not plan to return. For those looking to go there, just beware that the inside staff is rude and it does not lead to a family friendly interaction. I recommend finding plans elsewhere and enjoying some other type of entertainment. read more

We spent 3 nights here (Canaan Valley Resort Lodge, North Wing) and were a bit disappointed with our stay. The mountain setting is lovely and I could see how this would have been a destination 30 years ago, but the place needs some updating for sure (see pix). Ceiling tiles in hallway stained brown with water damage. BOTH saunas were out of order. Fitness center out of order/closed. Went to arcade, but token machine was out of order and other arcade wasn't open yet so not able to play any of the games. Indoor pool and hot tub decent although so much chlorine our eyes burned nonstop. Band-aid was in the pool when we arrived and when I told worker at pool desk and asked him to remove it, he said "I could try but there's enough chlorine that it won't matter. I'd probably have to use the vacuum and it's charging right now." We stayed at the pool for another hour and a half and he did nothing. Tried to get some water from the drinking fountain in pool area but, you guessed it, out of order and rusted frankly. Tried to get a Gatorade from the vending machine after a hike and it charged me but gave me nothing. Christmas decorations in main lodge were lovely. Front desk staff was nice. Restaurant staff for NYE buffet were smug and rude, but restaurant staff for breakfast buffet New Year's Day were great! Breakfast buffet was wonderful and a great value. Hotel room itself was clean, quiet, spacious, and comfy. Starbucks coffee is served at the Cafe, but they were out of all dairy milk and only had almond or oat milk. Snow tubing was the highlight of the trip! Affordable, fun, and fast! Dinner in restaurant 1/02/23 was really delicious, but service was pretty awful. 45+ minutes to get the food, got multiple orders wrong, incorrect charges on the bill. *sigh* I really hope they find the money someday to bring the Lodge back to its former glory. All of these inconveniences really add up to a disappointing overall stay, and for $200+ a night , I would not come back to the Lodge in its current state. read more

If I had to do it all over again, very few reasons would hold me back from popping my winter sports cherry here. Ski shop was a bit lacking in inventory unless you wanted a souvenir top or accessory clothing. Lift lines are reasonably short. Major annoying point: everything at trailhead elevation was out of the AT&T service range, and even the lift for the Bunny Buster slope provided a fleeting signal. Timber Run was more extensive (and its lift shut down at 4:30), but the easy trail that was attached wasn't quite so easy to get to. Pretty clean bathrooms, and a cozy fireplace in the slopeside Quencher's Pub (BBQ pork is uninspired, they could at least toast the bun; chicken noodle soup average). Amazing customer service with a single exception, the more indifferent of the young snowboarding instructors (Ben?). Kyle was patient about answering questions, and adopted a positive attitude about his role. Rental and ticket sales staff were super accommodating as we toddled around. Stan was very paternal about showing me how to ski, and I felt like I was in good hands when he examined my head injury later that evening. Mickey slalomed the sled back to base like a pro. Props to Shannon for being helpful but not pushy, and to Hottie McHotterson with his dazzling good looks for the tips and preparedness. Eff the concussion, I'll be back. read more

The tube staff took care of our party of four. ( Only 2 other people showed up for our scheduled time) so we basically had the park to ourselves. We rode the magic carpet up and tubed down about 15 times during the 2 hr time frame. We teathered 4 tubes together, 3, then 2 and ran singles a bunch. Lots of fun. 360's are fun and If you like speed, teather 3 or more tubes together. We tubed on a Thursday and avoided the crowds. read more

After staying at Blackwater Lodge, thought I'd splurge at Canaan valley- twice the price. The rooms are much larger, updated, clean and bathroom is spacious. The beds were a bit on the soft side and not comfortable. Nice that they have a dining room and a cafe. The cafe fries are great. The Cubano was nothing special. The breakfast buffet was decent and servers handed you food so it was much more sanitary during COVID times. My friend enjoyed the chicken sandwich but my chicken was awful. The menu said seared and crispy boneless breast -it had bone, the skin was soft and mushy and it wasn't well seasoned. The mashed potatoes were like warm and the broccoli was definitely frozen. The check in staff were not friendly at all. Though I had requested early check in and confirmed that morning that it was ready- the lady at the desk had a rude remark that check in wasn't until 4. When I explained I had already confirmed my early check in, I did get my keys. The restaurant servers were ok. Other than that- the cafe, gift shop and front desk definitely left something to be desired. Not a welcoming experience at all and views at Blackwater lodge were much better and closer to trails. read more

First off the resort. We stayed this October for a long weekend in the master suite----it was very clean, updated and the room was huge! We had a great view of the hills and golf course off in the distance. The staff was wonderful---they took the times to direct us to good hiking paths, look outs, points of interest and so forth. They were all friendly every step of the way. The indoor pool and hot tub were a nice bonus----However, the outdoor pool and other outdoor activities were closed when we went. The food was decent----not 5 star star but acceptable and priced decently. Hiking---wow, there's so many trails do your research. Some are marked clearly and some are not---make sure you have a good trail app/map or stick strictly to well marked trails. Several people had to be "rescued" the week or so when we were there because they went off the trail and got lost. Also, if you want a stunning view take the chair lift view at the mountain. It's an awesome view from 4280' ----make sure you view from the rear of the mountain behind the guard shack where the hang gliders launch from----stunning. Enjoy---we will be back. One last thing----don't speed in parks, they take it seriously. I got a warning from the park official when we arrived, who was nice/fair but stern. read more

The hospitality and food and beverage was sub par. We stayed for 2 nights and both nights we had terrible F&B experiences. First night. We had food served cold, and not as described. Second night. We tried the actual restaurant, we ordered food, watched 3 other families get served, eat, and leave, and still not get served our meals. The server did her best to comp us drinks to help the situation, but we waited approximately an hour for a steak dinner after being seated. The resort itself was great, but service needs some serious help. Did not have a good experience. Wont come back. Also, everything had an additional cost. Want to exercise in fitness center? Have to pay an extra 10 bucks. Seriously? I feel bad for the F&B staff, I honestly feel this was an upper management issue here. Wont stay here again. read more

I wish I could give this resort a good review. The skiing was awesome. The instructors were really friendly and genuinely helpful. The spacious lobby is beautifully decorated with a fireplace, plush sofas, and desktop computers for work emails. The hot tub is relaxing and the game room is great for the kids. The amenities are just superb. I would stay here again, but due to my recent racist and covid health related experience, I don't think I will. The hours at the Seasons cafe weren't advertised, so when I went in at 8:10 (they close at 8, with no notice on the door) I innocently asked if I could order food. There were 3 other white men sitting down at the chairs, while one man was having his order taken at the register. Instead of politely explaining that the restaurant was closed, this woman asked me to step aside. She asked me to follow her from the register all the way to the door, opened the door for me, and did not say another word. She could've whether one, just assumes that I wouldn't leave the restaurant (based on no evidence) two, assumed that i wouldn't leave based on verbal cues, or three, assumed that I couldn't walk myself to the door. As if I had to be walked like a lost animal back to shelter. Either way, this was incredibly insulting and disrespectful. She did not treat any of her other customers like this. She ha a warm, genial tone and considered all of their needs. This woman looked straight at me, assumed the worst, and walked me out like a child. She might've had a bad day. She might've been exhausted. But there is no excuse for unequal treatment of any kind. I worked in food service for 2 years and took orders up until the last minute of closing. If they came in because our lights were on, we just explained to them how sorry we were that we were closed, and we would be happy to serve them the next day. This was when I was a team member at a fast food restaurant. I guess that is too much to ask from an upscale hotel though? I guess that the customer service isnt up to par with America's fast food industry. Either way, don't waste your time here. The customer service is either racist or apathetic to needs. They also misled the entire guest book by saying their main restaurant would delivered to the room as to reduce the spread of covid. I think it's safe to assume that this resort doesn't care about their customers health or experience. Go stay at another resort in town. read more

I have been to this destination on 3 other occassions and would normally give a five star review. The four star is generous considering our recent experience, but I have a hard time giving a 3 star rating unless something is realyl horrendous. This place is just not real fine tuned right now. Slow response times for check in, requests, no one answering the front desk phone when calling from the room, etc. The main issue we had while there was the quality of the food in the "Hickory Room" dining room. My son and I were there for dinner (supposed to be a special dinner out just the two of us) and the food was *really* sub-par, including the rolls that were a tad bit stale, the veggie medley that looked like microwave veggies out of a bag. The salmon I had was hot and relatively tasty (clearly prefrozen and overcooked, but it's West Virginia, not a coastal location, so expected), but the vegetable and the mashed potatoes were both cold. My son ordered the scampi (with chicken, not shrimp) and it was really oily/ greasy. Sort of floating in butter. I am not usually one to write complaints, but it was really disappointing, especially when the bill arrived and after tip it was close to $100 (I did have 2 glasses of wine- requested Sauvingnon Blanc, but they only had Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay, and no wine list). The staff and restaurant waitstaff at the hotel were exceptionally friendly and accomodating. The waitress could not help that she is being asked to serve mediocre food for an inflated price. The room was very clean and appropriately appointed. I felt safe with regards to COVID concerns (because we are both vaccinated). Overall, we checked out a day early (mostly because we had come to mountain bike and had a broken rear brake and bike shop was closed 'till Thursday). Ufortunately Canaan Valley SP was not willing to refund *any* of our second night's prepayment as a refund. Upon arrival we were put in a room directly across from the ice and vending machines. Unfortunately, I have learned from experience this is not a good place to be in terms of noise (and there is no door or other barrier to the vending area from the main hallway). Canaan staff was quick and friendly with moving us to a new room (the gentleman that helped was a real "go-getter" and very professional). Game room has lots of potential, but overall it's tired and a bit grimy. Needs a good scrub. Pool cues missing tips, no chalk or bridge, token machine not working with credit card, etc. read more

Nice resort on a golf course. Has an indoor and outdoor pool along with an indoor sauna, hot tub, gym, game room, a restaurant and small cafe. Rooms are like most other hotels. Food is good at the restaurant with a nice view of the valley and golf course outside. Watch out for the deer as you drive around the area. read more

This review is specifically for the snow tubing at the ski resort. Although it was a very cold day, Fri Jan 29, 2021; with wind chill of 4 degrees, the sun was shining and they had received snow the previous couple of days so the tubing run was in great condition. My hats off to this operation for making this a very pleasurable experience. Once you receive their safety briefing you grab your tube/s and head to the magic carpet. The carpet was a long ride, but the 45 - 50 second smooth/fast runs were worth the 10 minute wait for the next run. My wife and I had a blast!!! The runs are the longest we have ever experienced between Ohio, PA and now trying Canaan Valley. We were able to get 10 runs in for the nearly 2-hour time period; and for $20 that was so worth the 3-hour drive from Northern Virginia. We look forward to our next trip! read more

I was looking forward to the trip and would have rescheduled once I was no longer at risk of exposing people, but now -- Canaan Valley will never see another dime of my dollar. ***Ski Resort Review**** This is the "Cheers" of ski resorts. Literally everyone will know your name by the end of the day. Especially when you faceplant off the lift on a snowboard in the morning, and later in the afternoon they catch you on blues on a set of skis. Yes, I go both ways (kinda). I'm just gonna let you know that +2 stars is given to the ski patrol, although we passed on the apres ski beer offer from quite possibly the hottest guy on earth, due to an injury, your help was very appreciated. Also +1 for the very professional and attentive first aid responders. Now onto the skiing, If you're looking for a quick day ski trip within a few hours of DC this is your place. It's a 3.5 hour drive, with about 2 hours of the ride being through road kill territory. Be warned, this is a bare bones resort, it has a small ski shop (with no actual ski gear), a small lodge with the fireplace. It's not quite the hill of mud that Whitetail (aka Icetail) is but it doesn't really have as many slopes as Seven Springs. At the time we went there was only one operating black, about five green and four blues open. Actually not bad for the global warming type of winter weather we've had. But for what it's lacking in size, it makes up for with friendliness and fun. The rental and lift ticket sales people were great. When I went in after hard morning of snowboard lessons, and explained that me snowboarding any longer would result in mass fatalies on the slopes, they gladly fitted me with some trusted skis. There were no lines for anything, not for rentals, lift tickets or lifts. In theory, the greens were pretty gentle (ie. the Bunny Buster), unless you're new and on a snowboard with apathetic instructors (except for Kyle who was very patient and sweet) and have an angled binding position with toes pointed towards each other on your rental board, then it's like going down Mt Kilamanjaro. The greens are also usually quite packed with airboarders, kamakaze children and lesson takers. Rest assured, the blues and greens off the Timber Run are less crowded and way more scenic. I actually had a fun action packed day here and would gladly go back here again. With a helmet. read more

This is a review of the ski area. Headed up here for a couple of days of skiing after finding that Timberline was closed for the season (as of March 2, 2019) and may be closed for good. I never heard of Cannan so was not sure what to expect. Given it's a bit of a hike from DC I'll demote it one star but overall it's a great ski area with some caveats. That's the rub. They don't get enough natural snow to blanket the mountain. It takes a bit to figure this place out. But basically, there are​ two parts to this mountain as you face the main lodge in the parking lot: the primary lift area straight ahead on the other side of the main lodge which services almost all blacks and most blues and a couple of greens. And the beginner section​ to your right served by a carpet (immediately to your right) and a triple to your right rear down the hill. Now here's the guide to getting on the hill without a huge hike. Up the stairs, get your pass, go the right and to the side of the building and drop your skis on the single rack adjacent to the hill, continue in the same direction to the rear of the building and enter to get rentals, the store, and lockers, etc. Go back outside through​ the same doors and get your skis and ski down to the triple​ at the base of the beginner slope​. Ride that chair and ski to your left off the lift to get to the two quads that service the bulk of the mountain. (Of course,​ if you're a beginne​r you can stay on the beginner course but to get back to the lodge take the triple up and ski down to the lodge. Hiking the hill is not recommended; you came here to ski not hike. For some reason the ski racks are limited. I was here on a Monday and Tuesday. There was no crowd and no lift lines. I can imagine lots of full mazes on a crowded Saturday if there is such a thing. Have fun. There's lots to explore. Folks were very friendly. Extra tip. If you have time. Got to White Grass Cross Country ski area for lunch. It's a short drive and the food is fabulous. read more

We were really looking forward to a nice family-of-three get away for a night. Sadly, my husband accidentally made two identical reservations (he double clicked online) and when we figured that out we called the resort immediately. We were hoping they would cancel the second reservation at no cost - which was made under the same name, for the same family of three, for the same date and within minutes of the first booking - but when we arrived, knowing our son was 20, they said there was nothing they could do for us. So we ended up paying for TWO rooms which could NOT have been farther apart from one another. HUGE disappointment. We even asked if they could credit us for the second room and we could come back another time. All we received was the response "we tried our best but there was nothing we could do." Breakfast was ok - but not included with the booking. Rooms were nice. read more

This review is for the campground located in Canaan Valley State Park. This is a beautiful location! The whole park is just incredible. We chose this campground specifically to see the fall colors in WV, and the timing was perfect! There are multiple trails to hike, from easy to semi-difficult, that allow you to get the full fall foliage experience. We rode the chair lift at the ski hill to the top of one of the mountains and hiked down to experience several incredible views of Canaan Valley. The campground itself was well-kept and spacious. There are multiple loops with drive-through and back-in camping spots with full hook-ups. It appeared that some of the spots needed some creative leveling, but most seemed to be pretty flat. The roads and camp spots are all paved. They are relatively small, though. It took a little maneuvering to find the right set-up for our 31' travel trailer. If you have something around 25' or so, you'll have no issues at all. There are trash cans at each spot that the park employees empty every day, which is really nice. There is no Wi-Fi in the campground. There is free Wi-Fi at the office at the front of the campground, which is a short walk away. There's a laundry room in the same buildings as the restrooms/showers. The restrooms were pretty clean, but small. The front office has a very small selection of some camping essentials, including firewood, in case of an emergency, but they are only open during normal business hours. Make sure you bring all the things you'll need! Overall, this is a great campground. We will be back if ever in the area again. We had a great experience! read more

This review is for the hiking trails. We had a great time exploring the trails here. There were not crowded over Columbus Day weekend. We did a 2.5 mile trail loop that was the longest hike my kids have done. The trails are well marked. We had a blast. And the park is free. Highly recommend. read more

We stayed at the lodge a few years ago. We rented a cabin, but phone signal was very week so asked if we could swap to the lodge. They let us swap no problem. We had a great time. We also went skiing. Lodge and ski resort are on the basic side, but for half the price of close by options, this is a much better value. read more
