Personal Chef Peter - Perfect Egg Toast with Kaluga Hybrid Caviar on Top

Personal Chef Peter

Chef Peter is the real deal. I contacted him to cater our firm's holiday party this year. From…read morefirst contact to the two months leading up to the event, he was responsive and kind. He worked with me on a menu and he delivered my vision. Even with extreme circumstances (another vendor broke our garage door 24 hours before the event) Chef Peter and his crew took it in stride. They were on time and hauled their heavy equipment in and got straight to work. He was basically cooking/grilling on one side of our building (back patio), having to run back forth to the interior kitchen and sink. He and his crew worked SO hard that night. They are very professional. Every plate was perfect, they cleared the tables and made sure everything was spotless when they left. I also hired Jacob the Bartender (he works with Chef Peter) and WOW! Crafted cocktails and excellent service. Every person who was late to my party was sat and had a drink in their hand in less than a few minutes. Jacob was a pleasure to work with. Great bartender. I could not ask for a better duo for the night. Also big thanks to Tomas and Erick - their waitstaff. Amazing night they pulled off. I'm a perfectionist. Type A host. I'm very particular on how I throw my parties and Chef Peter surpassed my expectations & more. My entire firm will not shutup about how amazing the food and service was. The party was a hit and I believe it was because of the food & bar. I will 100% hire this team again for future events.

Chef Eric B - Heirloom tomato and burrata salad

Chef Eric B

(52 reviews)

This review is long overdue!…read more Eric was a joy to work with. He was prompt with communication, and provided perfect recommendations for my private, birthday party dinner. His menu selections were top notch, and my husband and I were thrilled with the outcome. We did 3 appetizers before the 4 course meal began. We did the elote (street corn) appetizer, tuna tartare, and lamb chop. Of note, I don't eat lamb at all, but Eric's Lamb chop was AN AMAZING FLAVOR BOMB! I appreciated that him and his server showed up prepared with all of their supplies (and small plates for serving). For dinner, we had the heirloom tomato and burrata salad, followed by the char grilled octopus, then the Australian Wagyu steak with creme brûlée to finish. The menu was superb, Eric presented his gorgeous plates with detail and attention, and (of course) they cleaned up everything after! This was a PHENOMENAL experience, and we are already looking to book Eric again for my husband's birthday! Eric, you are an artist and amazing chef! Thank you for offering this wonderful experience and making my birthday memorable!

Before hand he provided a list of his most popular items to choose from and you create your own custom menu from the large variety of items. He was able to customize a couple dishes to my preference and even adjusted a few as he was preparing them the night of for a couple of my guests. The server he brought with him was super friendly and attentive. Everything was as described and I couldn't think of anything I'd do differently. I will use Eric again for sure. Such a fun and delicious evening.

The Brown Butter Boys

The Brown Butter Boys

This was one of the more disappointing dining experiences I've had this year…read more It's a joke that Brown Butter Boys can advertise themselves as a fine dining experience... at $100 plus 20% gratuity per person it is far from expensive nowadays but the meal and experience fell way below any level of expectations we had going in. We were served exceptionally bland and tasteless food in an after-hours coffee shop setting using fold-out tables, flimsy chairs. There was zero ambiance and none of the polish you'd expect at a proper "Supper Club" The food was genuinely bad. The main course was a joke -- portion, execution, flavor. We had a party of 6 and multiple plates went unfinished, and some of the dishes were a pass altogether. Sadly the only stand out item was the salad... We left hungry and walked across the street to a rotisserie chicken joint, which couldn't have been tastier given what we had just endured for the past 2 hours. Calling this "fine dining" is misleading at best. Charging $100 per person for this experience feels like robbery. There was nothing refined, thoughtful, or elevated about the food, the service, or the space. Save your evening, your money, and your stomach space. If you're anywhere near Seal Beach or Long Beach, you have countless legitimate, well-run restaurants that deliver quality & atmosphere and may not even cost you $100 with drinks... Stay away.. Don't make the same mistake we did.

He was a pleasure to work with, responsive and made everything as easy as possible for us. Jeff does far more than simply prepare wonderful food. He takes the time to understand the style, timing, and atmosphere of the event and personalizes the flow of the evening around it. Everything felt beautifully coordinated and completely seamless. The food was outstanding and elegantly presented, and his team -- including the bartender and three servers -- was equally impressive. They were polished, gracious, attentive, and incredibly efficient. Service was always there exactly when needed. We were able to spend time with our guests and truly enjoy our own party because every detail was being handled so professionally behind the scenes. Our guests raved about both the food and the service, and at the end of the night, Jeff and his team left the kitchen absolutely spotless. Jeff is talented, thoughtful, organized, and created a wonderful experience for us and our guests. We could not have been happier and would hire Jeff the Silent Chef again without hesitation. After reaching out through his website, he sent us a message to schedule an introductory phone call. He shared his professional background and then went through a detailed discussion reviewing our vision for the night, including timing of the event, likes/dislikes, options for specialty/seasonal ingredients, etc. After the phone call, he followed up with a proposed menu for a 5-course omakase meal, accounting for our preferences, which was spot on. We paid a deposit to secure the date. He checked in a few days before the event and day-of kept a good line of communication with us, providing ETA. He was quick to set up in our kitchen and then the magic started. He brought his own table lights, dishware, utensils, cooking supplies/pans, etc. He offers tablecloths as well. When dinner was ready, he announced each course, sharing how the dish was prepared. The food was awesome. Just simply awesome. Pictures won't do justice, especially since I forgot to take some as I was enjoying the food too much. He buys the fish fresh that morning and you can appreciate the quality of it. And by the way, he prepped separate meals for our young children :) Afterwards, he took care of all the cleaning, cleared the tables, packed his supplies and graciously bowed out for the night. We're so glad we found him for our special night!
