    Shawn's breakfast poutine
    Tania L.

Campus Hi-Fi is a Western classic, and I finally came here for the first time today! My friends and I braved the first snowfall (storm) of the year, and were greatly rewarded with a substantial meal. I was really craving peameal (I have super weird cravings, don't judge) and so chose to order the peameal, lettuce, tomato sandwich on whole wheat bread. Was highly tempted by the fries, but since I haven't been feeling up to the weather recently, I opted for the salad instead. My three friends ordered the chocolate chip buttermilk pancakes, For The Hungry, and the Shawn's Breakfast Poutine. My meal came, and I was quite satisfied by the generous portion of salad on the side. It's odd how lettuce should be one of the restaurants' lowest margin products, yet it's one they skimp out on the most. I was hoping for more peameal, but the crunchy buttered toast with the PLT was delicious enough and hit the spot just right! I also sampled a bit of my friend's chocolate chip pancake, and it was so sweet and homey. Mmm! Overall, you get extremely large portions for what you pay for. Be careful with payment, however, as they're very particular with method of payment! Next time, when I feel better, I will definitely order one of their more famous breakfast options. Not to say the PLT wasn't good, but it just wasn't up to par. :)

Greek burger (with feta and tzatziki)

I was in London for an eye appointment 3 years ago and stopped in for a bit to eat here before I headed out of the city. Boy was I surprised at how thankful my taste buds would be. As someone mentioned previously, this place is definitely a little whole in the wall, but the burgers...oh the burgers. I had the best Greek burger I have ever had at this place, and I have been dying to come back. Three years later I was passing through London and I came back to this wonderful place. It's small, quaint and appears to be family owned. They have a selection of fresh pies for dessert and various specials on the chalkboard. I ordered...of course, the Greek burger. Each burger comes with onion, tomato, lettuce and pickle. This one also has tzatziki sauce (something you don't often see on burgers, but a great idea) and feta. They fry their bun for a second or two that gives it this delicious flavour and crispiness. You can tell the burgers are home made too. The best thing about their burger menu is that you start with the traditional burger and toppings and then they have a huge list of other toppings you can get for a $1-$1.50. I love building your own burger. Wait, actually the best thing about the burgers are the fries that come with it. They're probably the best fries I've ever had. They have that crispy coating that not many places have and in my opinion gives me reason not to use any condiments. The menu was quite extensive. There were a lot of other home made dishes I'd like to try in the future, but I needed that Greek burger. I'm told their all day breakfast is quite good as well. Service is friendly and quick. Every time I come to London, you can bet I will be stopping here.

After five years of living in London, and moving downtown two years ago, I finally made it to Campus Hi-Fi. I came here today with a few friends who stayed the night last night, and we all we're looking to get some breakfast. So we walked from our place to Campus Hi-Fi, and since majority of the students are gone for the summer, we were able to find a seat right away and didn't have a long wait at all. Upon arriving today, they had a note on their door indicating that their debit/credit machine was down and were only able to take cash. Luckily, there was a TD ATM across the street. We sat in a booth by the door, above their daily specials board and a waitress came up right away, handed us menus and took our drink order, four waters and four black coffees. There was a lot of great selection on the menu, but the Greek Eggs Benny was calling my name! My boyfriend ordered the club sandwich with home fries and sausage. Our meals came out in good time, were hot and ready to eat. My eggs were poached perfectly and the Hollandaise sauce was creamy and delicious. The best part about the meal was the fact that it had goat cheese on it, I love goat cheese and it just made the whole meal so flavourful. The home fries also tasted great, and not dry, I'm not much of a potato person, but these were good. This place has been a staple of London and Western students for years. Now that I've actually had a taste for it and how diners are also a London staple, I'm hoping to return here soon and often. What a great place for a great breakfast (served all day) and affordable prices, for the wage conscious student, or person, plus it's a great walk if you live downtown!

0 start-Treated the delivery driver like trash. unprofessionalism and extreme rudeness. I am a social worker who advocates for individuals and their rights, as well as a part-time Uber driver. I'm writing this on behalf of all delivery drivers who don't get treated right by the restaurant owners or waitresses. Around 10 a.m. on Saturday (2022-09-10), I went there to pick up an order. To emphasize, it is as follows: 1, The first issue is a lack of available parking for both the customer and the delivery person to pick up. To avoid tickets, always park far away from the restaurant. 2, The second problem is that the Italian or another European-born lady who doesn't speak perfect English is treated in an unprofessional manner. terrible experience She immediately displayed to me her lack of professionalism when I got there. She didn't greet you with a hello or a hey; she didn't welcome you; she treated you like garbage. 3, She requested that I swipe my app, as we drivers typically do while driving to the customer, and I replied that I would do it once I started driving because I had parked a long way from the restaurant. She said, " I don't care" with an unpleasant attitude. She follows me as I try to leave the restaurant while I'm being patient, and she tries to harass me, which is very inappropriate for anyone. This kind of person shouldn't run a restaurant or work at the front of a business. The male and the very young girl, who were both pleasant, are not included in this. (They're nice). This is specifically for the lady mentioned above. 4, Many delivery people are voiceless. The waitress and the owners of the restaurant believe they are on top of the roof. No one is aware of how the real restaurant owner treats the delivery drivers, despite the fact that many drivers receive ratings. Fortunately, I work as a delivery driver, so I can speak for many other drivers in the city. The owners of the restaurant want you to swipe the app as soon as you receive their meals. They don't want to pay Uber, which is the reason why. The issue is this: the food isn't made rapidly or immediately. On occasion, they keep you waiting for more than 20 minutes. They have no idea that you even exist. They are serving other clients, but they are unaware that you are a delivery driver on behalf of a client who is eagerly awaiting food delivery at home. Generally speaking, it is very unprofessional. Tips- Don't be rude to delivery people. Not only do the delivery drivers deliver food to the customers, but they may also be your customers. Such treatment is unacceptable. The first smile Following that, greet and second, gently request the customer and order numbers. Stop acting so rudely in front of us. You are merely a restaurant owner, not owning people. Treat everyone the same way you would like to be treated. At the end of the day, we are all just humans, whether you own a restaurant, a delivery business, or a refuge for the homeless. Everyone is entitled to fair treatment. Thank you,

    Erin D.

After hearing people rave about the all day breakfast here I had to check it out. My fiancé and I went on a Wednesday so there were lots of tables open and but there was a steady flow of customers. I can imagine this place is just packed on a Saturday or Sunday morning so I'll probably stick to a week day visit. The decor is nothing to rave about, simple, clean and cute. The food, holy crap, the food. First off, I ordered the wrong meal so I got WAY more food than I intended to get but I didn't want to be a jerk and change my order. The campus combo does not mess around. It was the most massive plate of breakfast food I have ever laid eyes on and I was quite impressed. My food was delicious, my eggs were perfect, pancakes were delicious and I loved the option of Rye bread for my toast. I barely made a dent in the potatoes. Overall, I learned my lesson that this meal was for serious eaters. Service was excellent, our server was polite and checked in on us a few times. Our food came out incredibly fast and was perfect. I can see the table turnover on a busy weekend being quick as to cut down on wait times. Overall, this place was great and definitely my new breakfast spot.

Cheap, cheerful, no frills and sticks to your ribs. These are the words Id use to describe this long standing London greasy spoon. The music is from the 50s (and I'm pretty sure so are the very sweet staff). Like any other diner from the era, it's got the classic red leather benches and 50s memorabilia adorning the wall. I ordered the western skillet which came topped with hollandaise and 2 eggs. What was different about this skillet from others is that they use shredded potatoes instead of potato chunks/ whole potatoes. I didn't think I'd like this, but when cooked with onions and other fillings it actually makes a great easy to eat dish - similar to a scrambled egg. Eatcrest out

    The "For The Hungry" breakfast

As a broke college student, this place is premium for a bacon-egg-sausage-pancake filled breakfast/brunch. Officially our new Saturday spot. When we first walked in, the place was a little full so we waited about 5 minutes, but the staff was very accommodating. We ended up getting a booth seat that was clean and comfortable. The wait staff was very helpful and polite. I ended up getting the "hungry" breakfast, which had 3 eggs just how I liked them, bacon, sausage, potato, toast, and 2 pancakes. After eating all of it, which was a crazy large amount of food, I skipped lunch. The food was great, and amazingly priced. I paid 10 dollars for such an insane amount of food that tasted really good. Would definitely recommend.

Overall, it was just an ok experience for me. These wings that were recommended were baked and not fried. As one previous reviewer stated, it's hard to keep sauce on naked wings. I went with KLB Raspberry Wheat as a beverage. Although it was in a can, it was pretty good. For the wings, I honestly cant remember what sauce I got. I guess that shows how memorable it was. So, yeah. They were just a basic plain chicken wing. I did opt for some dessert, as I am one to not turn down a tiramisu. Now, this, was excellent. Top notch! On a side note, a co-worker was sitting next to me, and he got the meatloaf and said it was excellent. Maybe I should have gotten that? Nah, I am very particular to meatloaf. But anyway, I would probably go back.

It seemed as though the daily specials are available until they sell out; perhaps a regular diner could confirm this. They looked good, but we were late, so we settled for pickings from the standard menu. Options include soups, salads ($4.65-$10), sandwiches and burgers ($9.50-$13), lunch bowls ($11-12.50) and all-day breakfast (actually just breakfast and lunch, so it's a pretty short day!). The beverage selection is extensive, including coffee, tea, smoothies, sodas that I haven't seen elsewhere in London, iced coffee, juices and more. All of the coffee and tea selections were under $5. There is a self-serve water station which is a nice touch; probably easier on staff, too. I appreciated their attempts to avoid single-use utensils and dinnerware. The only disposable waste were the paper napkins and the receipt. Food came out quickly and it really hit the spot. Good-sized portions were tasty and as described.
