It's not fair to compare this fan shop to the sorts of places selling sports paraphernalia near the other Big 10 schools, Northwestern is much smaller. A better comparison would be with any sports fan store near Berkeley or Vanderbilt, and then one realizes how good this place is. It's very cramped inside, because they have as good a selection of Wildcats gear as you're going to find, it's actually a challenge to move around on a game day, worse in a season when the 'Cats are a serious threat to win our division.

My photographic memory told me that I've passed by The Locker Room on the way to some restaurants on Central St. The Locker Room is located directly across from Ryan Field. Currently, there are many off-season apparel, accessories, and gadgets on sale. Once we walked into the actual store, the space was quite cramped and hard to maneuver. However, they were well-stocked and had massive inventories. A older gentleman with a suit was the store attendant. He was very friendly and helpful with Dad's searches for short and long sleeve t-shirts. Dad thought the large size would fit, but they did run small. However, the sweatshirts were true to size. In the end, Dad walked away with one (1) sweatshirt, one (1) short-sleeve t-shirt, one (1) long-sleeve t-shirt, and one (1) cap for $125.31. I thought the price was fair for these four (4) items that would normally cost somewhere between $150 to $200. I'm not really familiar with other NW souvenir shops around, but I would recommend this place if you're looking for everything NW (but they won't beat Wisconsin)!

One salesman spent time with a young girl and sat with her for a while while we were handed boxes. The service was awful, and I noticed two people left because they had no assistance. We have purchased from here numerous times and would have left if I didn't have my cash points. We will no longer shop at this store. Service is now here--try it on and put the shoes you don't want nicely back in the box. Add but pay $$. You really need to bring your customer service back.

They only had shoes in what I thought would be way too small, but I figured I'd give it a try. I went yesterday (almost exactly 2 years to the day since the last time I was here), and it was a great experience yet again. The sales associate was super nice and brought out both shoes, and surprisingly they were only about a half size too small. But, for $10 for the cheaper pair, I figured it's good enough and maybe they'll stretch a little as I wear them. I can make any shoe fit if I'm motivated enough. I also impulse purchased the cute hoodie that I mentioned in my review back from September 2023 (see photo from that review). I saw that they still have it and so I couldn't pass it up this time. They were quite busy when I was there (about 3pm on a Thursday), so it's great to see them thriving.

I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and customer service. Customers should not have to repeatedly follow up just to learn that their order cannot be fulfilled. If there is an inventory issue, the company should proactively notify customers instead of leaving them waiting without any updates. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this company. The inaccurate inventory information, poor communication, and lack of customer support made for a very frustrating buying experience. I'm sharing my experience so other potential customers can make an informed decision before purchasing from this company.

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. I'm genuinely shocked that Campus Gear is able to operate as a business in the twenty first century. The customer service in this store is appalling, and as a customer service employee myself, I was standing agape at the disrespect as I watched a 40 year old man bring a 20 year old woman to tears. This customer had ordered a sweatshirt online and was sent an item she had not purchased since her selected product was not available in the store. My first question: why did Campus Gear feel they were entitled to spend this customer's money on something she didn't want in the first place? The customer went on to explain that they had given her a coupon, which she subsequently lost (May I mention they run on a completely paper system? Quite inefficient, in my opinion); however, she immediately returned to the store to inform them of this occurrence, and they took down her name, as well as the credit she is owed at the store, so that at her next visit to Campus Gear, she may redeem her $86 (which they misused in the first place). This customer was at the store with a friend to buy something with her credit, yet the employee was hostile and condemning to these two. He insisted that the customer was making this up, even after he found the paper receipt in their own record that proved she was being honest. To call this display of customer service horrific is an understatement! As a small, family business owner myself, I could only hope that this is not the picture that lasts with those unfortunate customers, as many of us strive for much higher standard of operation. I hope that Northwestern students may learn that this is not the model of a effective business, and after the disrespect I observed, I would caution them to avoid this store in the future. I placed an order for some Northwestern apparel and I noticed my packaged arrived quicker than I anticipated. I opened my box and noticed I had two shirts instead of the one I had ordered. I then saw an accompanied letter explaining to me what had happened. It was the single most most sincere and the best customer service experience I've ever had. My shirt was out of stock and David H. was kind enough to send me a shirt similar to mine and an extra shirt as well. David then upgraded my shipment and I received it in two days from Evanston, IL to Charlotte, NC. You have earned a life long customer and the assortment and variety were unparalleled compared to the "Big Shop" companies. Thanks again David for your letter it will not be forgotten on our end. Three words: Exceptional Customer Service! Campus Gear came through just before Christmas. They have a huge inventory but, over the phone, they zeroed right in on what I wanted. Two days later, I received an awesome sweatshirt that exceeded my expectations. This store and staff are amazing. We have bought jackets, ski googles and helmets and today, a whole snowboarding set up for my daughter. They have a phenomenal selection of all things snow. If you want it, they probably have it. Their prices are reasonable and they have amazing sales. If you buy boots there, they will heat mold them for free. They also mounted the bindings for free as well. We also received a couple of other goodies. They explain the pros and cons of each thing so you can make an informed decision. There is no hard sell. We actually bought boots from Thirty-two directly, but they were the wrong size after they measured my daughter's foot. Proper sized boots are really important for comfort. They explained why she should go with a smaller size. We decided to return our original boots and decided to go with the pair they had. They were a higher end boot, which was a bit more than she needed, but given the extra features and the deal they gave us, we couldn't refuse. The specialized service we received today is something you just don't find at most places any more. They proved why it's so important to support mom and pop small businesses. Ski/snowboarding equipment is an investment and to have experts help fit and inform us of our options was so helpful. It's something you just can't find online. Please don't use these businesses for their expertise and turn around and spend your money online. You may think you saved a few bucks, but ultimately you don't. Because we bought the entire set up, they took really good care of us and gave us a deal. We walked away knowing we made the right purchase and my daughter can't wait for snow! I will recommend Scandinavian Ski Shop to anyone! SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESSES by spending money there!!!

Avalanche has a partnership with Scandinavian Ski Shop so we got her skis here for this season. We've gotten her skis at both Viking and William's in the past and I found Scandinavian to be the most efficient and best customer service. We booked an appointment for a Sunday afternoon in the fall and were in and out of there in 20 minutes...with skis in our hand. We just needed some snow, which didn't show up for a few months later, but she was ready to go for her first trip thru Avalanche in December. We returned the skis this week after she used them for Spring Break and I was a little worried it was late in the season, but they said we could have kept them until May. Granted they would be collecting dust in our garage for the next months since ski season seems to be over everywhere, but glad to know they are flexible. I'll likely buy her a pair of skis next year since I think she's fully grown so it's not worth renting season after season, but based on the rental experience I'd consider buying them from Scandinavian. They also have a great collection of jackets, helmets and other winter/ski gear that I'll be sure to check out for our entire family next year. It was another fun year on the slopes and thankful to Scandinavian for getting her ready for it!

I'm enjoying wearing skirts/dresses while the weather allows for it, but may go back in the fall. While the clothes are adorable, the friendly owners and staff are what set this apart from some other boutiques we've shopped in. And that alone will bring us back soon!
