I also had issues with the guy trying to sell the extended warranty. I find there customer service to be very lacking. I had tried to reach out to them multiple times left countless messages and never get a call back. I had issues with a hot water heater and when we bought the camper we were told they had mobile service and if we ever had a problem they would come to us. Well apparently there mobile guy quit and they are not replacing him do they no longer offer this service. After multiple contacts with them they finally told me to order the party myself and then the warranty department would full out the paperwork to reimburse us. That was a month ago and I still haven't even got a call back from the warranty people. read more

Lance at camping world was one of the worst people ive delt with buying anything in my life. We said no to the extended warranty and he got mad at us. Do not buy from camping world and if you do do not have any sit downs with Lance that guy sucks. We owe way more then our camper is worth and we made a big mistake buying from there. We went to CW to get our first RV. We had tons of questions and although we were fairly sure which camper we were going to get we knew we were going to put our salesperson through a marathon. We were assigned Doug Cahak to help us and from the get go o knew were dealing with a professional. Through the entire process Doug was patient and very informative. We settled for a Coleman 17R and he coordinated everything so we could get things done in one visit since we are 2+ hrs away. The delivery was flawless and the guys in service were awesome. I finally got to finance with Angela who was also great. We took delivery of the camper and left feeling very comfortable and super happy with our purchase. We will go back and make sure Doug helps us get our upgrade!! read more

Stopped here en route to the ice caves. The staff was wandering around re-arranging for the new seasons. We had to seek out help, but once we interrupted them, they were friendly and pointed us in the direction of things. They were quick to put a barcode sticker on everything we had (perhaps to track customer service?). It left a bad taste in my mind - like the employee was trying to get credit for selling me something I found on my own. I have worked retail in the past, I understand the pressure to sell things, but this lacked taste. Aside from those comments, like any Gander Mountain, they tend to have most things you are looking for when it comes to outdoor adventures. And it was conveniently located off of the freeway. Came into the store to purchase camping gear for the summer and was greeted at the door with enthusiastic and very friendly faces. A RV sales associate named Doug C., took me to exactly where everything was that I was asking him about. He is very knowledgeable and asked about what type of camper my family has and where we normally go on adventures to. Asked if we had all the supplies needed for the summers' excursions. We had a lot of questions that he answered professionally and promptly. The one question he did not know the answer to did not hinder him as he went and got a more seasoned associate to teach both of us. We were not rushed nor pushed into anything and had a wonderful experience. He helped us save money by pointing out ways to save. My family AND friends will be back many more times to see what specials they have. read more

My wife and I were shopping for a new camper for the last 2-3 months online. Decided to give Camping World a shot and we were very happy with our purchase. Huge selection of campers and being they have a ton inside the show room it was very comfortable to be out of the elements. Service was great as well. When we did our walk through the technician was very patient and answered all of our questions and we even learned a little from him although we've had campers for over 30 years. We went to Camping World in Rothschild to look at a new reclining loveseat. They had a great selection of colors and options to fit our needs. The prices were very competitive and with the Good Sams membership were better than many online prices. The membership basically paid for its self. Th sales Lady we dealt with I believe her name was Jenny. was amazing. she knew her product and was able to answer our questions. Because of her we did purchase our new loveseat today and they even were able to store till we can come back up to pick up as we're not expecting to purchase today. We bought an new camper from them and ended up with a different stock # camper than the one we thought we were getting, and ended up paying almost $1000 more than the internet advertised price for the stock # camper we thought we were getting. Unfortunately I didn't catch it until after we had completed the purchase and I was looking over the paperwork at home. Very nice people, but just pay close attention to what's happening. read more

Tried to order a replacement ladder for the motorhome. I went off the Camping World website. Product was supposed to be delivered to me on 5/12/23. This morning I checked the status as I have not received it yet. Status is now backordered and the carrier has not even picked it up. No heads up from CW. I called customer service after using their worthless chat option. Spoke to Paulette from Customer service. She told me it is backordered and now won't be in for an additional month. However, there are several stores that have them. I asked her how I was supposed to know which one to shop from off of their website? After not helping me, or making any attempt to make it right, she said she was at a call center and this is a store level problem. How is this customer service. I am NEVER shopping at CW again. I am also closing my Good Sam credit card. Paulette decided to hang up on me. This company is not good. read more

I'm going to write this review in choppy sentences, it's too long to do any different. I wanted a specific shotgun, I called Gander Outdoor and spoke to somebody in the firearm area, they said they would see if they could order it. I didn't hear back from them, I called and left a message, didn't hear back from them. Called again, asked to speak to Dept. Mgr. I ended up speaking with "Top" fellow veteran. Told him my frustration and filled him in. He said he was on it and would get back to me. He did I think a few days later. Told me he could order it. Over the next weeks, I would call and check-in and was told everything was good. I was then told after maybe 7 weeks that they could not even order it. This was after I purchased almost 500.00 in ammo for it. Then I spoke with Chris, Store Mgr. He said he was on it and would bring it up in a meeting and get back to me. (Never heard from him again) I drove 38 miles to check what was going on, nobody was in that I spoke with. Called a few days later and spoke to Rocky, Store Asst. Mgr. he said he would check in to it and get back to me on Friday. I didn't hear back from Rocky and on Thursday I Drove there again, spoke to Store Asst. Mgr. Rocky in person and rocky said, I can see your mad, I let Rocky know I was not mad, I was disappointed, he also in the conversation said I can see your upset, I again let Rocky know I was not upset, just tired of getting jacked around on this for 7 or 8 weeks. Anyway, 7 or 8 weeks later, I spoke with Rocky on the phone today, he said they could try to get me another similar shotgun but it could be another 60-90 days and maybe longer if at all. In the end, I told Rocky I was done with Gander and their poor customer service. And I would just leave a review of my experience with them. So here is the review. Also: I told Rocky and Top and Chris that I was the only one out here, besides wasting 7 or 8 weeks of my life for a firearm they couldn't even get for me, I'm out the cost of ammo. Gander Outdoors in Rothchild WI..... never ever again..... total waste of time, gas and money !!!!!!!!!!!!! and I see others on here feel the same way. read more

Went here to buy my very first gun after debating for years if I should get one or not. The employee that helped me was very helpful and answered any questions that I had since I was a complete novice when it came to firearms. I then decided on a CZ P07 in 9mm and started on the paperwork. I being a none US citizen but a legal permanent resident, did not have my green card on me (which was needed along with my drivers license). The gun was put back while I ran home to grab it. When I came back, I went right by where the gun was, asked for it to be taken out, and finished up the paper work. Now I was there a little over an hour because I had opted to wait around while they did the background check. In that time, the gun was taken out of the case and inspected by the guys there. Although I had to eventually come back two days later for it because of the background check taking longer than expected, before I left I had paid for the gun and a box of 9mm bullets. Now here is why I'm giving Gander 2 stars. From the beginning I had stated that I was looking at buying a 9mm handgun. When I had gone back to finish up the paperwork, the gun I pointed out to the employee was what I thought was the one I had looked at before, a 2nd generation CZ P07 in 19mm. The gun I ended up bringing home was a 1st generation CZ P07 Duty in .40 S&W. As someone new to guns, they were identical to to me. I'm not placing all the blame on Gander, but I had hoped that as someone whom worked there, had vastly more knowledge than I, heard my wanting a 9mm, held the gun multiple times, and even rung me up... you would think he might have noticed anytime during this that I had bought a gun in a different caliber than what I had stated I wanted; that I had bought ammo that was in a different caliber than the gun I was buying. I didn't even realize till a few days later when I was able to go to the gun range to shoot it that the bullets wouldn't fit in the magazine. I wanted to return the gun itself but was told by a friend that there are no returns on firearms or ammo once I had walked out of the store. FML read more

I wish I could give ZERO stars! Not even good enough for 1 star! We bought a used 2015 Fifth-wheel towards the end of October 2020. We were aware this is a used camper and weren't expecting brand new. We noticed water damaged on the slide out, and few other issues, which we asked to be fixed, Jimmi our sales guy was all for it. Said everything will be fixed and ready to go when we pick up. The few cosmetic issues we brought up were fixed, we could see that. So we pick up the camper and take it home, winterize it and store it away for the winter. Come spring/summer we pull the camper out, turns out our water damage was never fixed, refrigerator isn't working right, hot water doesn't work in the shower, black stuff is coming out of the faucets.. the list goes on. We reach out to corporate, turns out Jimmi never even wrote anything down we wanted fixed, never told the shop of the water damage, told us everything just to get the sale! Now we're being told that there is SIX pages of things wrong with this camper, which we were NEVER shown and this camper was supposed to be sold as is. We were told there was a form that we would have signed saying sold as is. We do not have a signed form showing this camper was sold as is. We would have NEVER bought this camper as-is. We specifically asked for specific things to be fixed, buying it toward the end of camping season made it impossible to find out what was fixed and what was not. We will be telling everyone we know not to shop Gander RV and Camping world, as it seems like we are not the only one with bad results from this company. read more

Thier gun department employees are a joke. 4 occasions within 1 year where i waited for someone to come help me to look at a firearm in the glass case and not 1 even acknowledge i was standing there, no eye contact, they just walk right past you. There always 5-6 guys standing behind the glass case acting like they are busy. I was the only customer waiting because it was early morning. Because of thier poor customer service I ended up purchasing all my firearm at other local gun shops which are very customer service friendly and they will work with you on the price. I now just just go to gander mtn to look at thier gun sales then go to the local shops to price match or better. Still to this day, not even an acknowlegdement or eye contact when you browse thier guns in the glass case. The more elsewhere i look I notice they over mark thier guns price super high. May want to price check your local small gun dealer before buying at gander mtn. read more

Went there yesterday May 7th to use up some reward vouchers from my Gander credit card. I spent 3 hours there picking out stuff I wanted. I found out at the cashier that they recieved an email from the liquidator that morning stating that all reward vouchers would no longer be honored. The email I recieved stated I had till the 18th? I had $120 in vouchers that are no good because of the liquidator and new owners. The cashier had rung up $350 worth of merchandise when I told him I just couldn't. I was too upset over this, I pushed my empty cart to the side, left the merchandise with the cashier and walked out. I will never step foot into another Gander Mountain again. read more

Fire arm department is a waste of time and a joke. As I stood there looking at various fire arms waiting for someone to help me on a firearm I was interested in, no one helped me. There were 4 guys that walked back and forth past me, no saying "hi, I'll be right with you, someone will be with you" no eye contact...it's like I'm invisible. It was around 8pm and they were all acting like they were going to grab something for other task. I was probably waiting for 15 min to 20 min. I left disappointed and went to Dunham sports in purchase the same firearm there. They were fast friendly..I was in and out. This place has an anemic fishing and camping selection...especially in terms of fly fishing equipment and / or name-brand camping gear. It's basically a gun shop and clothing store. There was a time when they were half-way competitive with the likes of Cabelas, but those days have passed them by. If you need anything but the basics, you won't find it here. If you need the basics, you're also probably out of luck. read more
