Never use these scammers for any repair!! My story is much too long of a read but here are the basics. They were suppose to replace the roof and interior damage due to a leak and were paid over 10k from my insurance company and over 4k from me. Adam Bond will pretend to be on your side and suck you into agreeing to repairs in addition to those the insurance company paid for to prevent future problems. The service manager, Rob, is very disrespectful and rude. I even sought the help of the general manager ,Conner, and he did get some of the items addressed but not all. They had our travel trailer for over 16 months and did not do the repairs in the manor they agreed to with myself or the insurance company. NEVER take your equipment there for repairs!!! read more

I want to start by saying I am disappointed in myself for trusting a dealership to operate transparently. We worked with the sales team to negotiate a deal that included trading in two campers. A trade-in value was provided without the dealership physically seeing the campers, which I understand is common and subject to adjustment after inspection. However, at no point during negotiations were we told that the inspection would be used to systematically reduce the agreed value through itemized deductions. We made a two-hour trip one way to deliver the first camper, a 2017 model. Prior to delivery, we were upfront with the salesman about its condition, including a tear in the couch and the fact that we had already ordered replacement awning fabric. We fully cleaned out the camper and delivered it on Tuesday morning. After that, we spent the next two days cleaning out the second camper in preparation for delivering it as well. Anyone who owns a camper knows how time-consuming that process is--you don't realize how much stuff you have until you have to unload it. On Thursday evening, we received a message from the sales manager stating that the camper was "too old" and would need to be wholesaled, resulting in a $5,500 reduction from the originally quoted trade-in value. We were sent a list of appraisal deductions, many of which were for issues we had already disclosed before delivery, along with a few additional minor items. What bothers me most is that the dealership was fully aware of the camper's age from the start. It is difficult to believe that its age or wholesale status came as a surprise only after we made a long trip and delivered it. In my opinion, this felt like a calculated strategy: offer a strong trade value to encourage us not to sell privately, get us excited about the new camper, and then reduce the trade significantly once we were invested and had already put in the time and effort. I do appreciate that they contacted us before we made another two-hour trip to deliver the second camper, but that doesn't change the overall experience. It felt like a classic bait-and-switch approach--no different than a car salesman letting you take a vehicle home overnight to make it harder to walk away the next day. I knew better, and that's the most disappointing part. This experience reinforced exactly why so many people distrust dealership trade-in practices. read more

This would be zero stars if possible. I scheduled an appointment with the service dept for an estimate to have the roof replaced on my RV which is covered by insurance. I dropped off the camper at the scheduled appointment on 1 May. I was told the estimate would be done by 5 May. I called on 5 May and it wasn't done yet. On 6 May Mr Dillion called me and said they can't do the estimate unless I sign a power of attorney, and that the insurance company "requires" me to sign it. I assured him that CW will be paid directly by the insurance company so there is no need for that document, and it is not "required" by my insurance company. As of 7 may they had not even started the estimate. They just want to milk the money from my insurance, and work it at their own schedule. I picked up my RV and will have it repaired elsewhere. The service writer sarcastically told me "good luck, you won't find anyone else." If they cannot do a simple roof replacement estimate in 7 days, they would likely have the RV parked on their lot for the whole summer. read more

If I could give it a negative rating I would. We bought a 2018 5th wheel in July and it took us until the end of September to get it after much calling and threatening. My husband retired, we rented our house and we had to leave and it was a mess trying to get our camper. Now in October we were in S Carolina. getting ready to leave and the bedroom slide came apart. The bed pulled completely away from the wall and the slide was hanging. The Camping World there sent some men to look at it and said it should have never gotten to that point. Huber replaced the carpet in the slide but did noting about the mold that was discovered around the carpet area and the rotten wall. The bed pulled completely away from the frame. s Carolina was great. We had to go to a hardware store and get 2x4's to hold it together so we could move t. We had to leave there. It got to the point that Huber wouldn't take our phone calls now they won't take the Corporate Camping World calls about our problem. I guess we will just have to get a lawyer. Here in Florida we are taking it to Ocala to see what can be done. The worst experience of our lives. We dealt with Connor at Huber Heights. I don't know how these people sleep at night. read more

Buyers Beware. I purchased a Volante 25 RL July 2023 brand new from Camping World in Huber Heights, Ohio. One year later, taking over a $9,000 loss, I wholesaled the trailer back to Camping World since I refused to sell this travel trailer to another individual or family. I see that Camping World simply placed the trailer back on the site the same day for $40,999 to the general public which is more money than I paid for it brand new last year ....This is also sixteen thousand dollars more than what they paid to buy it back from me. Such a despicable company. Unfortunately this trailer was in the repair shop for more time than I ever was able to use it in the one year that I owned it. It has had the kitchen sink, the bathroom sink,theatre seating pull cables, awning, the slide cable, slide seals falling off, the slide carpet, the shower fan, crooked breakers, mislabeled fuse box, the stove, window blind pulls, etc...repair issues ... But the most concerning was a wobbly toilet. It was discovered that Keystone had cut too wide a hole in the floor under the toilet and therefore the toilet flange bolts had nothing to bite into. Keystone and Camping World played me as the monkey in the middle and refused to adequately repair. When I brought my travel trailer in for repair work July 2024, I was told by a service technician at Huber Heights Camping World that my roof had a hole and needed to be replaced for $8,000. Once Camping World figured out that a Camping World technician at a different location had dropped a tool while replacing the shower fan creating the hole in the roof membrane... Then I was told that the roof hole could just be patched. I've been directly lied to in my face by several service technicians. The GM offered to sell me a new camper at cost and I drove for 2 and 1/2 hours only to discover that was a lie too. I will never give Camping World another penny of my hard-earned money EVER! When I bought my travel trailer from Camping World I was told I had to pay $1,695 for a PDI (pre delivery inspection) walkthrough which obviously wasn't done with as many issues that the trailer has ... I was also charged $325 for a single battery and $899 extra for a hitch. So when I say buyers beware.... take heed. Do not waste your hard-earned money or be deceived by this unscrupulous company. I am a older person and this was my teacher retirement savings that I spent in order to enjoy the latter years of my life and instead it has been one of the worst experiences I have encountered. Trust no one at Camping World...And whatever you do...DO NOT buy stock number 2440684P... It has a hole in the roof membrane and too wide of a hole cut in the floor under the toilet. Hubby and I are OTR truck drivers who live in Texas but don't get home often so we are wanting to buy an RV for when we do get home. We know we have to buy in Texas but we are researching and trying to find what we want. We were in Ohio and saw this location and knowing that the sales people work in commission we didn't want to take much of their time since we can't buy up here. But Brandy was introduced to us and we explained everything so she would know that we weren't gonna buy here before she wasted her time on us. But she was simply amazing! She showed us several models and even found the one that we fell in love with. She was friendly and knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. She didn't treat us like a waste of her time at all. Our brand-new Puma 429LFT which has only been in use since the beginning of April, leaks sewage from the black water tank into the kitchen sink, the door lock on the slider has never worked, the screen door was completely destroyed when it was delivered, and the toilet does not hold water. This after we paid $1500 for "Prep" and a walkthrough. They replaced the screen door with a Temu version that won't open, and they will not correct the plumbing issues or door lock unless we bring our Destination camper back into them to the tune of $3,000 to pull it, transport it and reset it. They never even offered to send a tech to our permanent campsite which is only 2 hours away to make it right. I would NEVER recommend them. Smooth sailing with a recent USED RV sale. Great selection of new and used trailers and RVs, and they'll have even more space once they expand next door. Might be tough to navigate if you're coming off of the highway, but just exit at Rt. 202 on I-70 and head north. The original store at this location, Gander Mountain, went bankrupt a few years ago, but the name's been revived and the store's back, now a bit more specialized toward camping (RVs) and other outdoor activities. Their recent outdoor "expo," which was pretty much just a special RV sales "blitz," is what brought us in, and we took our time wandering through the rows and rows of campers. With no firm plans to buy (been thinking about for a while...) we didn't feel toooo much pressure, but it was a really busy afternoon, and we left with a few possibilities in mind, and an "itch" to make to move to purchase "one of these days..." Never realizing what a great online network of used RV/camping equipment is out there, we spent the next week doing what I/we do best...Obsessing, frantically researching, and going about every five minutes between "let's get one RIGHT NOW," and "we should probably wait and ponder this for another decade or so!!" To make a looooooong story short (and semi-relevant to the rest of Yelp) we found a great deal right on Gander's website, went back a week later, took a "gander" at another couple of units, and made a great deal... Semi-spontaneous, semi-planned, just the way we like it!! Great spot to browse, if you're in the market. Sales pressure a bit high (but we expected that, to some extent) but nothing unusual if you've ever bought a car or other major, commission-based purchase. If you're not in the market for a camper, there are still plenty of other great outdoors (hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, etc...) items to check out... Great local resource!! read more

If I could give ZERO stars, TRUST ME, I WOULD. BUYER BEWARE. Hubby and I purchased our FIRST camper in September 2023. Aaron was our salesperson and knowingly sold my husband and I a camper that is way above our trucks towing capacity and he was well aware of our trucks make, model, and towing capacity at time of sale. We reached out immediately after taking our camper our ONE TIME and it broke our truck. I was told that there is nothing that they can do. Today, I have a camper sitting in my driveway that I am wasting money on due to THEIR error and wanting to make a quick sale. I have attempted multiple times to contact managers whoat first say they can help and will return my call only to turn around and send me email that they can't help fix the mistake they made. Incompetence from the very start. It took a month for them to take my Beaver diesel pusher into the shop. I could live with that considering the times. Things went down from there. Tuesday, August 11th was drop off day. I was told that by Friday they would call me with what they found was wrong with the Aqua Hot heating system, water leak and why the generator stopped after running for five seconds. No call Friday, Monday or Tuesday before noon. I went to the service department in person to find out what they found out since they chose not to meet their commitment of contacting me with a simple phone call. First sign of incompetence. They said the Aqua Hot needed a water pump that they would order. They changed the oil in the generator but it still didn't work. Second sign of incompetence. I opened a case through an automated phone system. The response was fast and I thought it was moving in the right direction. No such thing. Roughly two weeks later, I get a call from the service writer with an update. They weren't going to charge me for the oil change and that they were planning to order the pump which I gave them the go ahead to ordering August 18th. So after almost two weeks, they haven't ordered the pump! Third sign of incompetence. I knew the error code on the diesel 10KW was not an oil issue and that the Gen was not due for an oil change. Today is September 21st. The corporate office thinks customer service communication is properly satisfied by sending a blind email on September 10th. That is inadequate as messages often go to spam. The rep said that there was no response in return from me. A reasonable person might wonder if I received it and give me a call like all previous communication. Fourth sign of incompetence. After another two weeks of not hearing a thing, I called again requesting an update. I learned of the email stating that the pump arrived. I was promised of a return call which I received. The store informed that the oil was changed on the generator! No word on if they found the real problem and solved it. There was no information on the status of Aqua Hot other than the pump had arrived which I knew. A fifth sign of incompetence. I have been in the RV business since the early 1980's. I've been involved in many instances of problem resolution. These guys have "Written the book" on how not to solve service problems. So if you want a bunch of incompetence, look to Gander Outdoors and Camping World. They are full of it. read more

My wife and I went up to the Huber heights location to see a Travel trailer listed on the website. We arrived on a Friday and with the help of the salesman we looked at the unit we inquired about. The salesman took us through the unit and we negotiated a price and came to an agreement to purchase the trailer that was shown to us. I applied for financing and put a 5000 dollar deposit down on the unit. They wanted to put the unit through service before we took delivery since the unit was used. I arrived a few days later to sign papers and pick up the camper. I was taken to service to examine the camper before I signed the papers. I was led back to my camper and to my surprise, the camper I was shown in service was NOT THE CAMPER I AGREED TO PURCHASE! After about 30 minutes talking to several people, the manager came out and told me that there was a mistake on their part and that we were shown the wrong camper. Needless to say, I was furious because they had already put an inquiry on my credit report and caused a ding on it. Also, I proceeded to tell the manager to give me my 5000 dollar deposite back. After everything said and done, I racked up 300 miles on my truck because I live 50 miles away from the dealer one way and we went up to the dealer 3 times at a 100 mile round trip. Also had a ding on my credit report and also wasted gas to drive the 300 miles for absolutely nothing. If this dealer can screw this up, why would anyone want to do business with them. Upon pick up he walk me through the whole process and answered all my questions with no issues. When you go to sign the paperwork make very sure you read it thoroughly!! What they tell you, all the wonderful things you get just for buying at Camping world, they actually are charging you thousands for. They make it sound complimentary but it's far from it. They sell you some ones trade in, flaws and all then they scream SOLD AS IS and charge you for all the repairs. Then if you take the camper in for repair they do a kind of sort of close enough job and make you wait weeks or months to get your camper back. Wish we would have read the many reviews before we went there. They are all saying the same thing. read more

I would not recommend this place or it's affiliated company camping world of Piqua. The customer service to sell us our camper and then fill our cart with all the things "we need" was great and that's where it stopped. Both locations had terrible communication with us. We bought a brand new camper at the end of the 2021 season and due to some unforeseen issues we didn't get to use it much the 2022 season. Our main bedroom slide stopped coming out and we took it to camping world to get it fixed and they were never able to resolve the issue. The following season we decided to take it to gander rv in Huber heights to see if they could resolve the issue and it took them over a month to finally figure out that it was a simple control module underneath the camper in our storage compartment. read more

Shoddy work and shady billing practices. Had our trailer there almost 2 months, had to go back 3 times to pick it up due to us catching their shoddy work. They "fixed" a hole in the floor with tape (that was falling off when we went to pick it up). A seal wasn't even attached on one side. They missed replacing screws. I ended up cut my arm on a piece of metal they didn't trim properly while I was inspecting their work. Terrible work that they overcharged us (parts and labor) for. We caught their "mistake" on the parts, and they did refund us some of the money for parts, but considering they initially fixed the floor by putting tape on it, they seriously overcharged us for labor hours. Front office staff were very helpful and apologetic, but that doesn't excuse the obviously shoddy work. While we were waiting to pick up our trailer, other customers picking up their trailer had similar poor experiences. We won't be going back, and make sure you double check they work they do, and your receipt. read more

Theft Issues of parts on your RV - do not leave it there. Dropped off our camper for installation of a new toilet and when driving the RV home it sounded very loud - my husband looked up what may cause the sound which would be theft or damage of the catalytic converter - we called Gander and asked them if they've had thefts of catalytic converters - they said yes and to file a police report - why not tell customers before they leave their RV with you that you have thefts going on for Catalytic converters - apparently someone started to cut out ours but didn't finish the job so now we have to work with insurance to pay to either repair or replace it read more

We had a terrible experience purchasing a 2021 Holiday Rambler Motorhome from them. The finance guy is a total shyster and somehow misleads you into thinking you are saying no to the extended service, only to find out later that you paid $9400 for it! We were able to cancel it within the 30 day cancellation period. On top of that, we believed him when he said we couldn't get lower interest rates because we didn't have the 20% down so we ended up with 7.99% interest (our credit scores are in the 800's). We refinanced the next month at our local bank for 4.19% interest and no money down! The day we drove the motorhome off the lot we realized the air conditioning didn't work. Tried to get them to take it in to repair so many times we lost count. When my husband called the service tech actually cussed at him and hung up on him! Finally after 6 weeks, and repeated pleading with Holiday Rambler to step in to facilitate the repair, we were able to get it into the shop. They didn't fix it but told us it was fixed. We picked it up and had a miserable 100 plus degree camping trip with no air conditioning. Took it back, left it for a month-still wasn't fixed, so another trip with no air. Finally pleaded with Holiday Rambler to help us again and they were astounded at how unprofessional the service department is at this place. They were finally able to get it fixed and we had our first trip this past week with working air....4 months after we purchased the motorhome. We will NEVER buy from Gander RV or Camping World again. read more

And how they admitted that they were at fault for not cleaning, servicing our Inspecting our Used Camper. They did not respond to any of our complaints, problems from MARCH 2019 until this past month! Although we sent many emails, messages and spoke with many people. We have lost over $4,000.00 in labor, cleaning & fixing all the problems regarding our Used Rv. And just recently they offered a $100 gift card for all of our problems! Horrible service department. You will not find any place as terrible as this. We bought a brand new camper. Picked up in November so we didn't get to use it much. We didn't take a shower in it. In the spring we used it a couple of times and noticed the water from the shower faucets leaked out from behind the walls all over the floor. Called early in the spring to get it fixed. Could not get us in until July. Their excuse was that they had to find out what the warranty would cover. ON A BRAND NEW CAMPER. I also asked them to fix the hot and cold on the kitchen sink because they were reversed. Took it in on July 3. They kept it the entire month of July and almost all of August. Kept saying it was because of trying to find the warranty info. Seven weeks later when we were going to pick it up they tried to charge us for the shower faucet leak. Said it was NOT covered in the warranty. (2021 model purchased in 2020!) The home office made them absorb the charge. And as for the kitchen faucet hot and cold being reversed? They pulled the hoses out and changed them and didn't bother to reattach them so we had massive water all over under the cabinets. We bought a new faucet and installed ourselves. THESE PEOPLE ARE SWEET AS CAN BE WHEN YOU ARE LOOKING AT SPENDING MONEY. TOTALLY DIFFERENT STORY WHEN YOU NEED SOMETHING SIMPLE FIXED. THEY ARE TERRIBLE. WE WANT TO SELL THIS UNIT BECAUSE IT IS STILL NEW AND WE ARE AFRAID WHAT ELSE COULD BE WRONG THAT THOSE JERKS HID. SIMPLY A TERRIBLE TERRIBLE PLACE.
