We had purchased a Good Sam maintenance contract with the RV. We had a maintenance issue on our RV and requested repair. The first tech showed and verified the issue but only listed one part. The second tech showed up with one part, the wrong one but not the main part needed. We never received a call from the Service Department on a return visit in over 3 weeks. The Customer Service is atrocious, the service manager was extremely rude and being bully to my wife. We have decided to cancel the Good Sam maintenance contract because of the lack of service. The only regret is that we aren't getting a full refund for all the work that was not done that was already covered. We are extremely dissatisfied with Camping World of Dover which I have used for decades. This was not our first RV and we have never received this type of bad customer service anywhere. read more

Definitely look somewhere else to take your camper for service. We purchased a brand new 2022 Keystone Sprinter 31TB on August 9, 2022. They had a punch list of IOU items to complete. We go in on 8/11 to pick it up for a initial local weekend trip on 8/12. Of course they said everything was complete but they did no repairs. So, we took it for the weekend and said we would bring it back Monday morning. Of course, with the initial trip we found some additional items (I.e. black and gray water levers were labeled incorrectly, kitchen sing leaked everywhere...plus some additional items). When we dropped it off Monday we let them know of the additional items and that we had a trip planned (been planned for a year) and we would need the camper back by 10/5. They said no problem. So, 10/5 was approaching and not a word from the service department. Si, I call and they say everything is done and I can pick it up on 10/5. Of course everything wasn't fixed, but at least they corrected the leaking sink and black/gray water issue. I said we will go on this trip and drop in back on our return. We dropped the camper back off on 10/11. Today is 02/18/2023 and I still do not have my brand new camper that I have only been able to use two short times in over seven months. I even went in before Christmas and spoke with the service manager and he assured me they would get it completed asap. In January I called CW customer service. They got involved and said camper was ready. Still no call from service to pick it up. I call back CW customer service on 02/13/23 letting them know. They got back in touch with service manager. He told them they were going to walk thru camper to make sure everything was fixed. I talked with CW Cs on 02/17 and asked if they called me. I said no and this is the issue. No communication or follow up. I am ready to charge Camping World for having my camper. This is getting ridiculous!! As I said above, do not take it here for service unless you never want to use your camper. read more

If I could Rate this place -100 I would. Waited 2 months for our new TT to be delivered only to be given the run around by all the sales people "it's coming". Finally decided to go elsewhere because of terrible service and then I called CW to cancel my order and get $1,000 deposit refunded. I called CW 3 times and got hung up on all those times. Was told by receptionist my sales guy wasn't in, less than 3 minutes later sales guy is calling my husband claiming "your camper pulled up 10 minutes ago, are you sure you don't want it?". I had to drive an hour back to this place to force the sales manager to give me my deposit. These people do not respect your time or money. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. We had the most absolute best experience. We originally went to general Rv and instantly regretted it. Went straight to camping world. We walked in not sure of what route we wanted to go. Class A or Fifth wheel. And thanks to Carmelo in the sales department, we were able to figure out what suited us best. Worst customer service ever. Took our rig in for some simple maintenance. They ordered the wrong size foam molding for rear slide out adding another two weeks to our wait time. Took a total of four weeks for minor repairs. No follow up for their service reps. We called four times with no return phone calls. Voice mail states phone calls returned by close of business. I will say Theresa in service was very professional but Tammy was just awful. We drove the rv a few miles away to storage site only to discover that the rear side driver slide no longer works. Not saying they did it but every single basement door was unlocked,the bathroom door was locked, all inside lights were left on, and there is a strange wire running from our rear basement door to under th rig somewhere.....run, don't walk and don't give this place your money. There are LOTS of RV repair shops in town. Second update 1/15/19. After two emails to camping world customer service team I have received no response. These folks really don't care and think they've cornered the marked. Please do not support terrible customer service!! 1/24/19...still no response from management. Funny how my complaint centers around a lack of timely customer service and management now wants to prove me right. We just had a slide motor replaced by a mobile repair person. They were prompt and efficient. The part came in less than 48 hours and was installed within a week of our first call. Like I said there are MANY options in Tampa for RV repair. 2/12/19 So no one from Camping world EVER even attempted to reach out in response after promising they were "looking into things" a month ago. If i could give them a NO star I would ! Let's start out by saying the unit wasn't ready for pickup when we had an apt , they didn't do the walk through completely because if they did they would have noticed my awning is completely broken . When it was addressed the man anger said he would contact the camera footage to see if it was ever open to check and never got a call back I had to go to cooperate for them to resolve that problem . This is a Brand new 2022 bighorn I've had it less than 5 months, my awning still waiting for part to come in , now my shower is leaking more like flooding under the rv plus to check why there is a really bad smell throughout the rv , charged me $100 for mobile service to come out and "fix" it which took all of less than 15 min for the shower and the problem is still not resolved , the smell has now moved to under my sink in the kitchen . You can never get ahold mobile service anytime i call it's she's busy with thousands of calls which yes I understand but if parts are in , or for making apts which it's for something serious the issue needs to be resolved ! I've seen everyone else bad reviews for almost similar things for this location and their only comment is to cal the store and they will help get it resolved well that's a lie as well the manager doesn't answer or call back . read more

I purchased a 2022 Motorhome (new) one week ago Saturday. The RV was not ready when I went to pick it up. I waited all day in the showroom while others were serviced ahead of me. The display tablet that allows vision of the back and sides was not operable. They replaced it, that was not operable. Finally, the 3rd one worked. I drove it for one hour to my residence. The next day the rear slide failed to extend. I called service who sent a technician that day to fix it. The next day I went to collapse the read slide when it failed to retract. Again, I called service who sent out another technician who fixed the slide to allow it to come in. While he was with me I had him check out the drivers seat which did not appear to move at all. It did not because the wiring was malfunctioning causing the seat to stay in the farthest position from the dash possible. I had desired to take the RV out of state to miss the Hurricane that fortunately never arrived, but if it had, I did not have a reliable RV to get on the road with. The fact that the drivers seat did not work is inexcusable, To date, I have talked with every person in sales and service about my fear of opening up any slides at this point. Additionally, why would I keep an RV that is not operable? Since all of my messages go unanswered, It is my intention to drop this RV back to the dealership in the morning and I'll contact my attorney to see about voiding this sale. I admire the service department who helped me with the slide issue 2 days in a row, it is the only aspect of Camping World that is fairly functional. I now know why Camping World has a Yelp rating of 2. I've never been so disrespected by a business as one who cannot call me to make things right. I have a camping trip this weekend that I will most likely have to rent a hotel because my RV was not ready to be sold. Buyer beware. read more

Purchased a new rv and was told there was a 7-8 week back up on slide toppers which come to find out was not true. When I was supposed to purchase the RV it got delayed another week due to delivery people being out along with sales and then once I did sign I had to wait another 4 days to have it delivered. Mind you on the day I purchased service let's me know slide toppers have been In stock they just need to get from warehouse and only 1 week and can install at the same time. Now they want to charge another $150 service fee because they are going to do it when it was supposed to be included and installed prior to my delivery. Very poor service and experience and they also will not give me the remote for the television, soundbar or the rolling sink cover that was supposed to come with the brand new 2021 RV. Alice and Samantha in the registration department worked tirelessly to rectify my registration problems. They contacted the third party company who is responsible for registering out of state vehicles and went as far as contacting the CEO of the company! I could not have had a more positive experience here. Milton was our sales guy and he is by far my favorite sales person I have ever dealt with in my 30 years of buying cars, now Rvs. He genuinely cared about making sure I had all of my concerns addressed. And then some and that is how you get a customer for life! So much so, I called him the next day realizing that the title was incorrect and he answers his phone on his day off to reassure me they would take care of it. General looked over everything for the PDI so I know my warranty will not have any issues going into effect. The whole team was excellent! Stay away. This is a "bait-n-switch" type a place. I had an ACCEPTED offer from their sales person AND put a deposit down. As I was about to go to their dealership to sign paperwork, I got a call from the sales person who said, oops, they made a mistake and the price they gave me was for another unit and if I wanted this particular one, it will be $1,000 more than when they agreed to (in writing). We are not talking about a complicated transaction here or extensive list of options. Basic trailer purchase and they couldn't handle that properly. Our RV was bought new and the shower was leaking water ruining the floors plus many other defects. I took it to get serviced and it took 2months to even get fixed. I had to call so many times and be on top of them. The end result was horrible. Sloppy work. It seems they just want to sell and after, they do not care about your concerns. They needed to order parts from manufacturer so I took the camper home to bring back when parts are in. Very friendly and accommodating. BUYER BEWARE if you deal with this unethical company. My boyfriend and I bought a brand new Class C Thor Chateau 25V motor coach from Camping World in July of 2020. We were very excited because before the purchase, the service was outstanding and we didn't expect to have any issues with the motorhome. However, in less than 60 days we had to bring it in due to a leak from the slide. We had to call multiple times to get a response on the status. Over the next 11 months, we had to take it back to CW several times to repair the same things over and over. We found out later than none of the items had been fixed. Our rig spent a total of 5 months at Camping World - 5 months we couldn't enjoy it. Then the sales department called and offered to buy it. They had no idea it was already there for service. We accepted their offer but when they checked it out, they wanted to discount the price by $6500 because of things that needed to be fixed. However, the service department continued to tell us everything was fixed. When we pointed out to sales that service said everything was fine, they told us that they had different technicians on the sales side than what they had in service. No matter who we dealt with in service, sales or even executive management, NOBODY ever called back when they said they would or followed through on anything they said they would do. We eventually settled on a price to sell them back this lemon. I now see it listed for sale on their website and you can see that the engine light is still on. We bought a camper from them on 8/26/2021 and after purchasing they said that we could not leave the lot without the installation of a seven way harness and brake control arm that they had to hardwire into the truck even though we stated that we could just buy an adapter. $750 dollars later we drove away with our camper. We did not even make it home because the wiring underneath the truck that they had just installed caught on fire. It completely destroyed our truck and damaged our brand new RV. this negligence could have cost somebody their life we are lucky that it was only the truck that burnt up. My kids have nightmares about the situation and so do I. Camping World said 100% be liable for this extortion and stress that they have put on us. they are claiming no responsibility. In my opinion and documented by emails: I found a couple of the service advisors 'less' than upfront about my service. I had been bounced around to 5 different advisors in a 4 month period. Their lack of communication between them is one cause of my frustration. Another is Evading or maybe avoiding answering questions that I had emailed after a service. In one instance the service advisor told me something was specifically done when in fact it had not been done. Very frustrating dealing with them. ***One thing I have learned is always do things with email that way there is a paper trail. There was just a recent incident where I was waiting for a warranty part to come in for four months. I finally called the manufacturer and they said camping world of Tampa had it in their possession for a month. They never notified me until I asked about it. read more

Ten people standing behind the service desk and not one even acknowledged our existence and when we asked them for service about buying a reclining set for our trailer they literally pointed us to an empty desk and didn't even go and let the man know he had customers waiting. Lazy people, the good Sam membership isn't worth it. Even at the checkout counter the lady stopped helping me to do something else making me wait for my receipt just sitting there but I couldn't reach it because of the plexiglass. We purchased a new 5th wheel back in June 2021. Our salesperson Jaqueline was very patient and helped us through some decisions. We had the wrong unit delivered the first time, but received the right one 3 weeks later. We had the unit inspected before taking possession which the service department at Camping World tried to talk us out of, stating not to worry they would fix any problems. We just wanted the inspector to find the problems for us. Once they were given the punch list they took about two weeks to complete. Two window screens did not stay clipped properly and we were told they would be re-ordered for replacement. However, when calling the service department to inquire...calls were never returned...for 5 months! We had to call many times, and finally had to contact the Manager of Service Department and make him aware of the problem in a stern and upset manner. Screens were ready for pickup 4 days later. They simply took screens from another unit on the lot. I would never do business with them again unless it is a warranty item which can't be avoided. read more

Within 2 months of owning the camper, we found that we had leaking coming in through the windows. We brought the unit back, and it sat there for well over a month. We had no communication from the staff about the status of the camper and had to call multiple times. We finally got ahold of the person who told us the tech who was supposed to be working on our camper was out sick. (this is a running theme with the staff that every time we call someone is sick or out). They finally told us that they could not recreate the issue, and nothing can be done. My husband and I had to find the issue on our own and fix it ourselves. (Leak coming in through the top of the window weep and building up inside the camper, but, they could not figure that out and properly seal it.) We went camping about 4 hours from our house, and the water heater started leaking and dripped water all over the inside of our camper. We took the camper back to camping world and it took 2 months for them to inspect the water heater, determine it was faulty, and then replace it. Again, we received no communication and had to call multiple times and finally we were able to come and pick the camper up. We asked multiple times if a proper inspection was done, and the water heater issue was fully resolved before we came and picked it up. We were told that a full inspection was done and everything this is good to go. When we inspected it at pick up, we found that the camper had large dents all over the side. We spoke to body shop manager who confirmed that the unit was not dropped off in this condition, and they have no idea how all of these dents appeared on the side of our camper. They then had to order all new siding and decals. We decided to take the camper home, since leaving it on their property did not seem safe as it gets damaged under their care, and we were going to bring it back when the new siding came in. When we brought the unit back home, we hooked up the water, and within 2 minutes we found that the new water heater that was replaced was LEAKING. We called and they ended up having to send out a mobile tech who said that the water heater was not connected correctly. They also tried to put some putty around the valves which he said it not supposed to be there (assuming they must have saw it was leaking still and tried to cover it up). The tech was able to order new valves and fixed the issue correctly. It took 2 months to get the siding and decals in, and we told them that we absolutely do not want to leave our camper sitting over on there property for long periods of time. We checked multiple times before bringing it in that they have everything they needed and said we could pick it up in 2 weeks maximum. Of course, 2 weeks passed and there was no word from camping world about picking up our unit. I called the servicer person handling our issue, and it went to voicemail. I left message and never heard back. I called the next day, and same thing. Finally just called the general servicer desk, and was told that they had a piece of siding that they didn't know needed to be replaced, and they were waiting on a decal to come in..... Somehow they managed to order the extra piece of siding they didn't know they needed, but didn't manage to order the decal. Doesn't make sense. We were told the unit was ready other than the decal and we could come pick it up. When we went to get our camper, I was sure to let them know how absolutely displeased we are with their whole company and how we regret ever buying a camper from them. Every issue we have had, their has been zero communication and accountability from the camping world staff. My husband and I are considering trading our camper into one of the other camping companies in the area (there is plenty in this area) just so we never have to deal with camping world of Tampa again. As we were inspecting the camper during the last pick up, one of our windows was left WIDE open by one of the staff. Thank god we didn't have any heavy rains, or we probably would have had interior damage. I would encourage anyone thinking of buying a camper to avoid this place as much as possible. read more

Service is run by a bunch of ass Clowns and no one has the slightest clue what the hell is going on or which way is up. Sold us a used unit that needed some repairs which is fine. Problem is none of the repairs where made. Now we have a unit that has water leaks , 1 broken A/C and 23 other issues that were documented by the service tech. Thankfully Marine one finance is working on canceling the contract . 2015 Keystone Montana 3711FL $42K and apparently needed over 15K worth of repairs that were never brought to our attention by sales. Lying thieving scam artists. Used or not this unit should have been gone through to make sure it was re-sellable . Was delivered filthy inside and not repaired like promised. RUN screaming , this place is awful! my wife and I already knew what we wanted, how much we were going to spend. We even knew the coach that we wanted was in a camping world in GA. We told the sales person what we wanted. and from that point forward he keep insisting on running my credit for a new coach he showed us crap on the lot that didn't even come close to what we wanted he got offended when I told him he hadn't shown us a single thing we asked for and the whole time was just kept asking me about my credit . "Hey we can run the numbers to make a informed decision" He had a sale! he just wouldn't stop pushing! and at that point I asked to be taken back to the show room. on the way back he got argumentative and mouthy, we passed a Montana coach and he said he was going to get "another sales person to show us it because we weren't getting along" At that point I told him "I wouldn't be buying anything from Camper World" he then slammed on the brakes of the golf cart and told me and the wife to get out of his cart , at that point it almost got physical thankful my wife's cool head prevailed so we didn't wind up in lockup for the rest of the weekend. however the up side of the store is we went to Lazy Days RV the next exit up and bought a Nice used coach that was exactly what we wanted. Nothing but trouble. Have since been told "what do you expect you bought a cheap trailer". The "if you aren't happy, I'm not happily" slogan is a joke. They won't let you talk to the person supposedly in charge. Nothing but excuses. The Kissimmee location now has a COVID outbreak which is the latest round of excuses. I have called Chris Tadlock and Mike Whiteman at the Tampa Camping World to get a refund on my road hazard policy through Safe Guard. I had to cancel through Safe Guard since I could not get a call back from Camping World. Safe Guard cancelled my coverage in 2 days and sent Camping World notice of my refund. The refund comes from where you bought the policy. Going on 70 plus days and no resolution. Calling everyday now but finace guy Chris Tadlock will never answer his phone, always goes to voice mail. Called the corporate headquarters and was told I would get a call in 48 hours. No call. Beware once Camping World gets your money it is hard to get a refund. I have learned your better off self insure. The GOOD SAM extended service plan is a rip off. read more

Well. Let me tell you about what we are dealing with right now. At the end of February of this year we went looking for an RV. We found one at a local RV dealer that was the perfect size for us. It is a 2005 with only about 40,000 miles on it. It ran perfect on the test drive and the generator started easily and ran smooth. All of the lights, appliances and slides operated with no issue. There were some things that needed attention but nothing appeared to be more than cosmetic and not unexpected due to the age of the coach. Well..........within weeks (and I mean one or two) of signing everything we started having issues. I am not sure of what inspection they conduct at this particular dealership when they get vehicles in and prepare them for sale but I am thinking that the person doing them is most likely blind, deaf and completely illiterate. We had it in the shop within a month of purchasing it and found that it needed an oil change, new plugs and a complete tune up and there was a hose that had a hole in it the size of a quarter that is no longer made due to the age and had to be repaired as best as possible. This was to the tune of almost $1200. Now, we thought OK, we are good now, but nope. We had to take it back in to have the tires checked and filled because the electronic gauge system is obsolete and we could not find directions on how to remove the covers from the valve stem. Let's see, what else......OH! There are 2 back up cameras and neither seem to work. The stereo system does not operate most of the time. The electronic gauges for the water system and battery levels do not work. The damage to the floor (soft floor) appears a lot more extensive that was indicated. And now! The generator does not power anything!! It is connected and runs but does not power anything! We have had it checked by Onan certified people and it turns out that there is an electrical issue somewhere inside of the camper itself. So, the wonderful walk thru that was done with us showing that the generator works and everything turns on and the great test drive appears to have been a bait and switch with most likely everything operating on the batteries and some bubble gum and tape on the engine. We are very displeased about everything because we now have this RV that we owe A LOT of money on that will have little resale value and cannot be used unless there is electric hook ups. I spoke with someone the week after the first issue back in March but did not even receive a courtesy call to say there is nothing they could do. Nothing! I am so angry right now!! Camping World, you need to get it together. I will not be returning to you for our next RV and will never recommend you to anyone. UPDATE: On Friday, 11/13/2020 I got a call from our sales person about 30 mins ago. He said that he got a message that I was there a few days ago with my father looking at an $11,000 camper.   He said he saw the name Kimberly and thought that he recognized the name.  OK, let's evaluate this. First of all, for a few that know, and those that do not, I am 2 weeks post op and certainly would not be out shopping like this. I have ventured out to Walmart a few times and a trip to the feed store for chicken feed but otherwise home bound, soooooo no. Second: I have an RV and sold out last camper so why would I I want to go back to a pull behind camper? I do not like them and do not want one. Third: My name, Kimberly, "seemed familiar"? Really?? In your 50+ years on this planet (yes I know that he is a few years older than me through his great sales technique of personalizing himself to me to garner trust) you have NEVER met a Kimberly? He kept calling me Kimberly. Again, those of you that know me know that I do not go by Kimberly except formally. I would not leave that name in any message. Finally:  There is one big and obvious reason that there is no way that I was there with my father a few days ago looking for a camper.......wait for it......my father passed away 3 1/2 years ago.  So, unless I was carrying an urn, this is an absolute impossibility. And quite honestly, a repulsive excuse that he gave, again to try to personalize things. The only logical reason is that they saw my FB post, that I tagged them on, or they saw my Google review.  He acted completely surprised about the issues that I told him we were having and said that he would talk to his manager and call me back.   Yeah, we shall see. I have traveled across the country and have been a Camping World member for years. I've used their service, bought products and even have their insurance. I've never felt ripped off until today. I was charged an additional 1 1/2 hrs labor for a simple install and today was charged extra for an oil change. When I asked about the difference in price I was told the extra charge was for shop supplies. No where was shop supplies listed on my estimate or the price board. They made the price adjustment but to punish me made me wait extra to bring my motorhome to me. These people are thieves. I'll drive the extra miles to avoid this place. read more
