I was very excited when I found this place by accident. I couldn't wait to stop in! No doubt about it, it's authentic. As one might expect walking into a bakery, it was small and quaint. One side was all the baked goods and the other was a little Spanish "shopette." I had initially walked in looking for empenadas (meat pies), but no such luck. The baked goods were all sweet (no savory), but I got some anyway just to try them out. Much to my dismay, they were not fresh. Maybe they had been there a day or 2 or 3... the sugar cookie, guava pastry, and pineapple pastry never made their way completely out of the bag except for a few bites.
I'm not sure what days the bakery actually bakes. Maybe I'll go back and see. But provided the little store has been there 7 years and the goodies were not fresh, I was more than a little bummed. read more
