One can pre-pay for multiple 5-minute increments at a time. -Shower water temp was easily adjustable, got nice and hot, and stayed that way for 20 minutes! -There are outlets in the bathhouse, e.g. for a hairdryer.

The campground was completely quiet and directions to our site had been left for us on the bulletin board at the camp office. We easily found our site, used the very clean restrooms, and fell asleep to the hooting of an owl. Next morning, we had a quick conversation with the campground manager who was raking up apples - the area seems to have been an apple orchard in the past. Very friendly. Campground was still fairly quiet, although we talked to a few other campers, and the restrooms were still clean. We didn't stay long, as we had to get on our way again, but our trip will take us back there for the last night, and will be glad to stay there again.

All of the sites are charming in their own right and the access to the lake is wonderful, providing a truly stunning view and wonderful place to cool off. The owners take great pride in the property that they have curated, and it is evident in every inch of the campsite. The facilities are cleaned daily, firewood is available, and the owners are a wealth of local knowledge and insight. this is by far the best campsite we have ever stayed at, the tone set by the owners really does attract a certain level of campers that are respectful and pleasant, there was no loud music, late nights or bright lights blazing through the night. This is an absolutely perfect place to decompress and enjoy the scenery. We cannot wait to come back!

The individual campsites are also on the smaller side, leaving you with very little space.A massive issue for me is that I work remotely, and the Wi-Fi here was terrible--essentially nonexistent. If you rely on internet access for work or streaming, be prepared to have no connectivity. Additionally, the water pressure at our site was awful, making basic tasks a hassle. Unless you are fully prepared to go off the grid and deal with tight spaces, you might want to look elsewhere.

There is not one draw-back that l can think of here. It has epic beauty. The trees and forests with lake views are magnificent. Everything is sanitary. Park at Kill Kare State Park and take the Island Runner to Burton Island, about a 10 minute ride. The ferry crew help to load your items onto the boat and you can pay $10 to have it delivered to your site.  Upon boarding the ferry, crew member Morgan welcomed us and gave us an overview of the Island and how everything worked. She recommended alternative swimming areas and prime sunset viewing spots. Morgan remembered us on our way back a few days later. She really made our visit that much more memorable, and the rest of the staff were super friendly as well. The island is equipped with showers & bathrooms (don't forget quarters!), trash & recycling recepticals, water spickets, kayak & canoe rentals, and weekly nature/survival lessons for kids. There are a few hiking trails and even some secret spots where you can post up and hang on the water for the day.   They offer traditional tent sites and lean-tos - some of which are right on the water. We plan to book one of these next time. Wood is available for purchase but be sure to ask for dry wood depending on recent weather conditions. The best spot about BI is the store, which is stocked with pretty much everything camping-related: beer & wine, drinks, snacks, ice, souveniers, etc. The store has a small kitchen with a grill and they make sandwiches and sides cooked to order. All of it is reasonably priced, and they accept credit/debit cards. Overall this experience was a very unique one but extremely rewarding. I highly recommend visiting Burton Island!!!

This was a severe hardship for northern Vermonters, since Montreal was closer than other markets in the US. Many local people continued illegal trade with Canada, herding cattle and carrying other goods through the Notch. Later, fugitive slaves used the Notch as an escape route to Canada. During the Prohibition years, liquor was smuggled from Canada over the improved road built in 1922. My mother and I just rode through and it was miles of the park with different areas to explore. The we're many hikers and explorers out. All I can say is the mountains are beautiful and the atmosphere is amazing. I would definitely want to come back in fall to see the trees change colors.

We were not at their party, went to different location to view the eclipse. She claims that everyone raises their rate because of this event. I hope she tells me the truth, I will be ok with it. Again, the place was rather nice, just that misunderstand can happen. I was not able to edit my recent review due to site restriction. I am starting to see why they (Campground owners in Nor'Easter) don't open their campgrounds for the season until in the May.
