Minimum 2 night stay and while you stay there, you can have free access to the day use state parks such as Sandbar State Park (not dog friendly) or Niquette Bay State Park (dog friendly) to name a few. We stayed on site 76 which was big and open. On a packed weekend, this site won't give you much privacy like the other campsites but it makes up for location - near the bathroom and water spigot, nature center, playground and beach. This and the others next to it would be a good site to reserve as a group of friends who are looking to go camping together. When we went, it was raining and so we went to the nature center where the staff there was very inviting and engaged our 4 year old to do an activity. Great spot for the kids to do indoor activities if it rains. Beach is a rock beach (no sand) and a great view of the water. I do wish it was sand but we still managed to have a good time in the water. Also the playground was very updated and my daughter enjoyed going there whenever she can. Everyone, including staff and campers, were all so nice there. It was our first time camping here and the staff explained everything to us and even offered us some free produce that they had. Firewood $6 (fairly dry), free kindle wood, ice $3.

Just the drive here makes it worthwhile, even better if you can do it in the daytime and without rain. Add to that nice secluded little campsites, functional shower facilities, swimming at the beach, sporting equipment and bike rental, and (get this!) actual pleasant human beings for staff and you basically have a perfect idyllic getaway. It's dog friendly, a quick drive to Burlington, and surrounded by other local attractions. I was only here for two nights, but I hope to return someday. Maybe it was just the campfire-grilled steak and corn on the cob, or the way the sun looked setting over the lake, or all that fresh almost-Canadian air, but I think I'm in love. Just fantastic! But…read morewhat a loose, relaxed operation this is. I arrived to discover that they don't really have an office. They have a semi enclosed desk next to the manager's apartment. I bang on the door a couple times and a woman who I called half an hour ago answered in her extra short, little robe. It's freezing outside so the only reasonable place where I can fill out paperwork is in her apartment, So she invites me in. At this point I was looking around for cameras because it was starting to feel like the beginning of an goofy 80's movie. Attractive women do NOT answer their doors in slinky robes and invite ME inside!! I told the gal how strange I thought this was but it seemed pretty normal here. I put a name, an address and a phone number on a piece of paper, she doesn't even bother to ask for my ID. I pay $50 cash and she hands me the key. She shows me to my room, shows me the basement and the sauna and wishes me a good night. Says I'm welcome to look around and explore. I'm traveling alone but she put me in a room that could easily hold 5. Half the rooms have open doors. I wander up to the second floor and see that most of the doors are open up there too. The front door isn't locked, I could have walked in, found a room I liked, locked the door and called it a night. She would never have known. I'm convinced that carfulls of penniless ski bums do that all the time. Arrive at 11:00 or midnight. Tiptoe up to the second floor and crash for the night. Take a shower and get up and out early and the only person that might ever realize it would be the housekeeper. Crazy. The restrooms and showers are dorm style, down the hall. I couldn't get any wifi and there was no info about wifi in the room. Maybe they don't have it. Strangely, there also weren't any heater controls in the room but it stayed comfortably warm anyhow. The sauna works great. Don't think they serve food anymore. It was a fun, odd, loosey goosey place to stay for a business traveler.

It was very comfortable. Our room was the perfect size for the two of us with a comfortable bed, soft sheets, and beautiful stained glass windows all around. It was very clean too. We will stay here any time we come back to Jay and maybe Mt. Sutton next time!

The morning we decided to go, we called up Grey Gables Mansion and Debbie was super friendly and let us know that they had rooms available and we could come that very day with no problems. When we arrived much later than we had informed them due to snow, Tim and Heinz were patiently waiting for us to show us to our beautiful room and made sure we had everything we needed. Both Debbie and Tim were extremely helpful with recommending restaurants and thanks to their assistance, all our meals were incredibly satisfying! It's a really nice fit for a certain type of customer, after reading dozens of reviews we booked and I went in optimistic but unsure if we would go again. Our 3 and 8 year old daughters loved the daily programming 8:30-1:30 then 5:30-8:30. We ate all of our meals separately from our children. I mostly slept in and sat by the pool while my kids were in program. Others golfed, played tennis, sailed, played pickleball, water aerobics etc. My favorite part were the evening 'booze cruises' we went on two. We also opted on for family photos which were excellent. These items as well as laundry service, alcoholic beverages and nighttime childcare was not included but when we checked out our final bill was less that I expected. My kids went rock climbing, rode a pony, went on pirate cruises, crafted and got lots of time in the water. My daughter turned 4 on the trip, which was fun and very special. The accommodations were great, small and tidy but all we needed. We spent very little time in our unit. Food was solidly good- my husband is on a strict diet. Pescatarian/vegetarian and there were so many choices for him. Bring 2x the sunscreen and bug spray you think you may need. Pack your passports- one day we went on a quick trip to Canada for lunch and some duty free shopping. The family that owns TP works here. It's been around since 1933. The staff is from all over the world. Lots of interesting and fun families from the US and beyond. We asked to change our week and hope we can get in for 2024.

The inn itself is simple with smallish rooms and comfortable old furniture. It feels kind of like a country cottage, sort of rundown but clean and with a warmth and friendly vibe that makes you want to stay forever. Isabel and Alex could not be more welcoming. We arrived kind of early but were made to feel right at home. There were just one other couple staying that weekday evening but Isabel's parents stopped by and we joined them for a delicious dinner (available for a very modest price) of kabobs with fresh veggies from their garden. We ate on the front lawn overlooking the lake as the sun set. In the morning, after a hearty breakfast we left, feeling as though we had met a group of truly extraordinary people that we will remember for a lifetime!
