I didn't know that I was lucky when I signed up for Aqua Aerobics at the Campbell Community Pool. I took a Tues / Thurs class, 10:30 - 11:30 . It was perfect for helping with my torn shoulder cuff. I took classes from Summer until Dec. When trying to sign up for Jan. & beyond, I was # 11 on the waiting list. I am no longer a resident of Campbell and these classes are super popular. They cannot add more sessions because there isn't any spare pool time. This pool used to be affordable. I'm so sad. $15 for an hour's lap swim is ridiculous.

Nice pools, Mostly clean. I only had one issue, and I think it doesn't pertain to everyone. I'm allergic to bees. And the poor things, are dying of thirst, I suppose, with the dry California atmosphere. So, when I was swimming tonight, from 7-8pm, 3 dive-bombed my lane. I don't know about other lanes. I had to duck twice. And then, of course, poor things drown, as soon as they touch down in a lane. But, even when they're dead, they can still sting a swimmer. A few days prior, I saw a puddle around a sprinkler head, near the roses, and there were all sorts of bugs having a drink. Too bad the pool doesn't offer a bee drinking fountain, like people offer birds. Set a few rocks in there, for them to climb on. They usually walk from the sides, though, so rocks probably wouldn't be necessary. I'm a dreamer. But, without the poor little bees, we're doomed, if we're not already. read more

I signed up my daughter for 2 different swimming lesson sessions. The instructors are awesome with my 4 year old and really helped her get over her fear of swimming. They are interactive and patient. I like that the classes are small and the pool has places for the parents to sit and watch their children. At the end they give them certificates with all the things they learned for the week. My daughter brags about her "sandwich hands" and "starfish". I will definitely be bringing her back here every summer for lessons. Her instructors were Nikki and Dominic. read more

This is a great pool! I've come here on occasion for a quick lap-swim work-out during my lunch and the lifeguard that works that time is really chill and nice. The pool is clean and the locker room is as well! Now that it's warm out, I'll be coming here more frequently to try to get back into shape. They have the lanes divided by skill level and there are kick-boards available for you to use. Doesn't it suck when you aren't doing high school/college sports anymore and you realize just how out of shape you are?! Open for lap-swimming M-F- 6am-8am, 11:30am-1:30pm, and 7pm-9pm, Sat- 8:30am-10:30am, Sun- 8am-11am. $5 per day (unless you buy in bulk or have a corporate membership). read more

Due to some foot injuries, we opted to swim instead of hike this summer. This pool became one of our go-to spots. Now, we love to be in the water, but aren't exactly masters level swimmers, so we avoid the more competitive pools that don't favor our splash-n-gab swim styles. Swim lanes are clearly speed marked during lap swim hours - as the Priuses of the pool, we prefer the unmarked lanes. The one time we occupied the medium speed lane we felt pressured to perform, even though we tried talking some of the slow lane swimmers into moving. Most of the time all lanes are occupied when we arrive and we need to share lanes with other swimmers. Lifeguards here are very attentive, always scanning the water for problems. The water here is clear and clean and I'd put the chlorination level a little higher than midrange. Showers are fine with stalls that offer more privacy than the typical bullpen style shower, and BEST OF ALL, the locker room has a suit spinner! We love the suit spinner and don't understand why more pools don't have them. Prices are a little higher for lap swim here than at other pools but purchasing a multi-visit pass gets the price down. It's a good pool, and the ease of parking and suit spinner (did I MENTION the suit spinner?) puts it right into Favorite Pool territory. read more

This is a really nice place. A former Silicon Valley resident recommended it to me. I agree with everything that Suneet and the others said. The 3.5 ft shallowness was also a surprise for me but didn't bother me because I don't do flip turns. The other end was very deep. I was sharing a lane with one other person. Not a problem. Just one other thing... "If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience." (borrowed from Chicago Trib columnist Mary Schmich) This is a nice outdoor pool. California sun is everything they say it is. So I went to this pool to get into shape for the coming season and I gotta be honest, it was a little intimidating at first. When they say adult swim, it literally means adult swim. They were all much more aged and were people with a lot wisdom on their hands. But do not be fooled, they were great once i got into a conversation with them so do not fear, they're extremely friendly folks. Came here Saturday morning at 8am for morning laps and the pool was pretty open. Shared a lane with one other person but that was no problem. paid $6 to get in and it was well worth it. got a pretty nice workout for 2 hours worth. This place has open adult swim year round so if you want a place to swim during the winter or so, this is the place to go! read more

The pool is very very crowded, especially the night adult swimming session. Because each lane will normally have two, three or more people, everyone is stressed about slowing down might bother others or might kick others and so on. When people are stressed, they are rude too. I came here several times, and ultimately I have to give up. You can't relax over here after work, it's a terrible place for daily exercise. read more

Beautiful big, clean pool for the community. The kids lessons are very good and the instructors very nice, but my kid hasn't learned how to swim yet. Once a week isn't enough to really pick it up though. I'd come for recreational swim top practice with him, but the hours are very limited. There are a lot more opportunities for lap swimming, so it's great for adults. Not so great for kids, except for the kids classes. Gorgeous pool! Just wish it was more kid friendly. read more

1st time at this pool. We just wanted a swim on a hot day. We walk up to a desk at the gate and ask for info. She says it's $3 / person. We pay and put on our suits in the locker room. Just as I'm about to get in, one of their MANY lifeguards rudely says I have to go take a swim test. (Which the desk lady did NOT tell us when we arrived, so how was I supposed to know.) So I go to a ladder to get in and another lifeguard rudely says "Go to the stairs." So I go to the stairs and another lifeguard rudely says "backwards! You've gotta go backwards!" So, I get in. Do my test. Get a bracelet. But when my husband took his swim test (with all the same rude interjections), another lifeguard rudely corrected him for doing the breast stroke for his test rather than crawl. (As if we were suppose to know this.) We swim for 15 minutes and the 98 lifeguards blow their whistles. Everyone has to get out of the pool because a lesson is starting. When we first arrived at the pool, the lady at the desk should have told us about their procedure for swim testing and that the pool was about to close. We were very annoyed and disappointed. The water temp was nice and the facilities seemed good. $3 isn't expensive, if you can actually swim for awhile. But they have too many lifeguards and no social skills. read more

I gave myself a few days to write this review so I could collect my feelings and thoughts and be as fair as possible. This is long, but worth your read! I decided to come here because of the close proximity to our house. This was our first week for the Tiny Tots swim class and my 3 year old was so looking forward to being in the pool and learning how to swim. A little visual on how the class is run: There are 3-4 students per instructor and 3 instructors in the pool. Also in the pool are floaters who seem to monitor the perimeters of the Tiny Tots area of the pool. And sitting right at the edge of the pool is a lifeguard assigned to the Tiny Tots group. His/her main function is to monitor the children who are standing on the platform in the water waiting for the instructor while the instructor is out doing the one on one with another student. The first day was great. She got acquainted with the instructor Lilly. Although she didn't want to participate in all the activities like blowing bubbles, she had a great time. Lilly was patient and didn't push the children past their comfort zones at all, but encouraged them to participate. The second day was something completely different. Not once did the lifeguard mention to a group of antsy 3-6 year olds to hold the hand rail on the platform. I didn't notice how much of a problem that was until my daughter and another 3 year old fell in the water and tumbled off the platform holding on to one another. The other girl's mother and I were sitting 15 feet away and saw the two girls were under water struggling to reach the surface. I ran over to the edge of the pool and called for someone to help my daughter. The lifeguard didn't flinch. She sat in her chair with her legs wrapped in her towel (something I would think is a hindrance to jumping in the water quickly) and instead another instructor was able to pull the girls up and out of the water. That was probably the longest 5-10 seconds of my life. My daughter was choking and gagging and crying and we got her out the pool. After a few minutes, she was able to calm down and asked to go back in. Thank goodness! The other mother asked the lifeguard what happened and she said she didn't know. Now I would have been a little more forgiving of the accident had it happened in her peripheral, but this occurred 4 feet DIRECTLY in front of her. And it definitely didn't go unnoticed that she never moved from her chair. We spoke with the manager who was dismissive about our concern and his excuse was that there are a lot of new lifeguards this season. Personally, that isn't a good enough reason for me when it comes to someone's primary function of safety. I decided to finish out the next two days as my daughter loves being in the pool and wanted to get back in. I sat as close to the pool as I could to keep one eye on my daughter and another on the lifeguard. The plus side of this is that the next day, the lifeguard was switched out and there seemed to be more of an awareness of the children on the platform. Nevertheless, I decided against bringing my daughter back as I don't feel I should have to worry about what lifeguard will be monitoring her group and if she is doing her job. I would give this zero stars if it weren't for the instructor and the fact that the situation was better the next 2 days. Unfortunately, I don't have faith that this will always be the case and have therefore, decided to go somewhere. read more

We came to this pool last year and nick named it the "no fun pool". My kid just wants a place to play in the water - this is not it. It could be just the place if you just want to swim laps - very chilly water. I was told I could not sit on the side of the pool and dip my feet in! You can only enter the pool using the 2 ladders. I haven't been to this pool in over a year because it's quite far from where I work, but I used to go here regularly for several months and it's a really nice facility. The pool (6x25y lanes) is well maintained and rarely crowded, the staff is friendly, and the locker rooms are very clean and well appointed. (I should add that I mostly swam during the noon sessions and sometimes in the evenings, so I don't know what the crowds are like in the mornings.) They also have a Masters program in the morning. read more

It's definitely a nice pool. The lifeguards are nice, the water is clean, and typically you can find parking. I only have one gripe none of which have anything to do with the pool itself. The open lap swim hours suck. You either go first thing in the a.m., at lunch or at 7 pm. I realize that might just be an issue with personal preference so please take that with a grain of salt. Other than that, its pretty nice. It does get a bit crowded here. So I recommend coming right when lap swim starts or come an hour after when the fist wave is getting out. Otherwise, you're 3 per lane or you have to wait. read more

Great pool - and one of the very, very limited options of a publicly accessible pool in Santa Clara County. Yes, this pool is open, however only for lap swimming, and only one person per lane. Due to these (current, Covid) restrictions you can't just go and swim. You need to make a reservation and pay for the swimming in advance. The reservation system is a little clunky, and most slots fill up very fast. It's advised to plan 14 days in advance (which is the maximum advance time for a reservation). The price is $7.50 for 30 minutes (lanes 1,2,7,8), or $15.00 for one hour (lanes 3,4,5,6). Swimmers are admitted ~5 minutes before their time, and then move to their own designated lane, where you'll find a disinfected chair for your items. Note: at this time there is no access to the rest rooms, locker, showers - so it's best to arrive prepared so that you can get in the water as soon as you arrive. read more

Just went here for the first time for open swim on a Friday. Plenty of space, I had my own lane. The cost was $5. First impression when jumping into the pool: wow, this pool is like 20 degrees warmer than the pool I normally swim in. Second impression: wow, the water is absolutely clear. I could see every corner of the pool. Third impression: the shallow end of the pool seemed just a bit too shallot. It was 3.5 feet, it would half felt a bit more comfortable if it was 4.5 feet, but now I'm just being picky. This was a great pool for open-swim. read more

I second the positive review for this pool. Mornings have been good too. One of the best perks about Campbell's pool is the punch pass deal. It's punched by the day, not by the use. Thus, if you can do it, one punch can get you a double or even a triple workout--morning, lunch and evening. It also enables access to the gym, etc on the same day. read more
