What a great find! I decided to try it out because it looked like it had a place to sit and enjoy a cigar. I settled in after making my selection. The owner checked me out and cut my cigar for me. He was very polite and congenial. It is a very comfortable and clean shop. The owner is very pleasant to talk to, and they have a great selection. The place is tastefully decorated and has a private cigar club in the back. I did not check that out, because I'm not a member. But if I lived here , I would definitely consider joining. This is my go to cigar lounge from where I live in Los Gatos. The owner is very friendly, knowledgeable and pleasant. There is a front lounge and a club members lounge in the back. Im not a member, but the front is a great area nonetheless to relax, smoke a cigar and watch a movie. The cigar variety and quality is excellent and they're very well maintained. The lounge is very well ventilated, which I particularly appreciate (most clubs are overly smoky). Whether you want to stop in to smoke (they have everything) or just pop in to grab some premium sticks to go, I highly recommend this place. read more

The two cigars pictured in this post, are two of the best cigars of I've tried from here. If you feel like spending some cash, ask Bass about his higher end cigars that he keeps in a separate humidor next to the register. Ever see the movie Lost City with the actor Andy Garcia? Well Campbell Cigars carry's the official Lost City cigar! During filming of the movie, the actors were smoking a unique blend of tobacco in their cigars. It was liked so much, they created a line of cigars with that exact tobacco blend in honor of the movie. Note: You can sit and smoke your cigars here in the lounge area without being a member. However, there IS a member's only area in the back, but Bass made sure to accommodate every customer who walks in his shop. You can even order something to drink, like coffee, water, or tea. He showed me the private lounge, where club owners can go and enjoy pool or foos ball, watch TV, too. He mentioned 25% of his client base were women too. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 is the parking. I understand location is hard but when I need another gift this is the place I will be returning too, regardless of the parking. read more

It took me a couple months to find this place when I moved to Silicon Valley, but it has been well worth the search. Bass (the owner) truly understands hospitality and customer service and he has a great selection of cigars. His assistant, Paul, is also most pleasant and knowledgeable. The experience is actually two-tiered. There is the shop then the back of the house private club. The latter has some nice frills - a pool table, sports television, foosball table, private parking and entrance. But the experience of visiting remains pleasant and comfortable even if you are not a club member. Sadly, California has over-reacted to smoking - not all bad but as with anything carried to an extreme, it becomes somewhat ludicrous- and this shop is one of the few in the area, and the best. If you get to San Francisco I'd suggest Occidental Cigar Club, about the only in Northern California where you can have both a cigar and a drink (how ridiculous that that has become a small pleasure that needs such a big accommodation)! read more

Bass is the boss when it comes to cigars. He was friendly and nice enough to help out a newb to cigars and pipes. I took my humidor in there to ask some questions about it and he gave me some good tips. In addition to an enormous selection of quality sticks, Campbell Cigar Club also has a private lounge in addition to the public one up front. He showed me around there is a pool table, 2 flat screen tvs and plenty of comfortable couches and chairs. Also has wifi. I hate to give this review as brick and mortar stores are dying and we need as many as possible, but there are some issues that troubled me about my stop here. I would like the review to show 2.5 but 3 is more appropriate than 2. I am a 4+ cigar a week smoker in my mid 30s and have been smoking for the past 10 years. I am a regular at both West Coast and Mission Pipe in San Jose. I admit most of my negatives are because I am a serious cigar smoker with friends who work in the industry both as reps and on the retail side and not your once or twice a month smoker. I will say its been 5+ years since my last visit here even though its the closest shop to my home. 1st the positives. The shop is clean, the skeevy old owner with his hookahs and flunky buddies are gone. The fake cubans and internet smokes the old owner used to sell are also gone. It no longer feels like a money laundering operation. There are some quality sticks in the humidor with a few new release smokes. As noted the owner is professional well dressed and not pushy in the slightest. That was why I did make a purchase and not leave based on pricing. The negatives. The shop lay out is wrong and creates an uncomfortable shopping experience. The TV should be moved to the back so that you are not forced to shop in the midst of couches and customers. Go check other shops no one else is set up like this. The prices are out of line and I'm not basing this on internet prices but your immediate competitors. As I was there and walked in I didnt want to disrespect the owner so I paid $13.99 for a stick sold everywhere else locally for $10- $10.50. This was me limiting my damage I saw some that were up to $6.00 more then other shops. I believe your markup is even higher then LGs shop. Given your location and likely lower rent I cant understand your markup. Take the tip section on your charge reciepts off. You are the only cigar shop I have ever been to that has a tip section for cigars. I am basing this on multiple states and 2 other countries. Ditch the sign asking people to pay cash. Majority of people dont carry cash anymore and given your markup some people may not have enough cash. This was my case and in the end the sign made me uncomfortable even buying a stick. Attempt to bring in some middle level sticks at middle level prices to turn more profit. Maybe you had a few but I didnt find much I like at a price I could stomach. $16.99 for a My Father literally made me do a double take. The .99 thing shows the way you are marking everything up not in balance with actual cost to you. Maybe the regulars dont know or care but the experienced walk in customer sure will. I guess the shop name is more accurate then one would think given the location. This appears to be more of a cigar club then an actual cigar shop. read more

I rarely review any place but seeing that most of the reviews for the store are old, management having since changed, and that I've been coming here regularly for the last few weeks, I felt that I should put something down. The shop is owned by a guy named Bass (pronounced like the fish). He's incredibly friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable about his products. He's also very professional - He's not a pushy salesman and he dresses well. I'm almost certain that he's owned the store for 2 years. The store is wonderfully maintained, clean, and they have a large variety of cigars - I would say probably 30 brands or so with each of the brands having 3-5 of their own "model", for lack of a better term. While the previous reviews have mentioned issues with quality, albeit from the previous owners, I've had no issues at all. I've never had cigar that was dried out, or over humidified. Obviously, all of the cigars in the store are kept in humidifiers with regulated temperatures. If you're a new smoker like I am, then you will enjoy and feel comfortable stopping by the place because Bass will spend the time with you to answer any questions you have and share his wealth of information with you; Things such as the construction of the cigar, its origin, its strength, its flavor. - All important factors that go into the creation of a cigar so that you, the smoker, can get something that you'll enjoy. He'll also cut the cigar, give you matches and put it in a Ziploc bag. If you're a veteran smoker, then you'd probably enjoy the place during the later evening hours (around 7-8pm) when you'll walk in to find a few guys hanging out, smoking, while watching Football (Soccer to us Americans) or any other sport, or some movie or something. I kinda have a soft spot for this place. It's my corner cigar store. It's small business Americana. It's unpretentious without being ghetto. For such a small place it does have a good selection of cigars. The selection of cigar paraphernalia, however, blows away any of the bigger stores in the area. The prices are not necessarily cheap, but aren't really any higher than most other places and certainly nothing like the laughably exorbitant triple-retail prices at the Cohiba shop at Santana Row. One review said that their questions went unanswered and yeah, that's about right. On the weekends the owner has friends watch the shop for him who know nothing about cigars. The other issue is that sometimes you can get a dry cigar. The humidors are cabinet style and careless customers can leave the door cracked. There's been a couple of times I have left with a cigar that was not in any condition to smoke immediately. So, not really worth making a big trip to, but if you live in the area and don't mind stashing your purchases in your humidor before smoking... read more

This is a really great cigar shop, it has an excellent variety of high end cigars and although it's definitely more expensive than online purchases the standard of equipment and knowledge of the cigars from the owner make it a really enjoyable experience. They have private space at the back that members paying $200 per month can really take advantage of. They have BBQ's most weekends and they offer a locker with the membership. I have a pleasant experience shopping at Campbell Cigar. When I arrived I was greeted by a friendly female who politely given me the opportunity to look around. I was impressed by the premium selections (God of Fife, Opus X, and Padron cigars 1926), well-lit store, cleanness, great service, and a cool place to kick back and enjoy the smoke while watching sports on big screen TV.
