You can't go wrong with a Toby Carvery and this one on Bawtry Road in Doncaster is no exception…read more The food is always fresh and very tasty. Granted, you don't have much of a choice as the carvery is the main attraction! However, there's always a vegetarian option. The staff are very friendly and the service great. The place has a homely feel about it and we've never had much trouble in getting a table. The main thing about this place is the prices are good, the food is tasty and they have a wide range of drinks as reasonable prices.
Nice hotel it's just a pity the carvery is 'up and down' quality wise. I have been a few times and…read moreonly a couple of times has the food not been dried out. Not too exspensive which is good so I guess that compensates for it.

We stayed at the THERMAE SPA SUITE located on the 2nd Floor and oh my! It was a wonderful stay. Spacious room with a fluffly settee and wide glass made Bed. The bathroom. WHAT A DELIGHT. It was very clean and had a glass made bath tub. The sauna room was very easy to use. It had a "MR. MRS." feel to it. Overall the whole stay made my partner and myself feel the most cleanliest people living on earth! we bath and washed and relax almost 5 times within 1 night there! WONDERFUL!
Well, what an odd place…read more Like others have said, this is a very strange hotel. On the one hand the room was huge with two excellent chaise longue converting sofas, good ipod docking music/alarm station, reasonable TV, lots of big mirrors and large bathroom. There were some excellent private lounge rooms near the bar and large open areas with many leather sofas. The Restuarant looked good albeit a little expensive, though we didn't eat dinner there on our visit - but the breakfast was excellent in both food and service terms. On the other hand the toilet paper is a rubbish dispenser, there is fake wood effect flooring and fake marble plastic walls, plus the most terrible cocktails we ever experienced. In fact the 'cocktail experience' was especially special... The barman who created our jug was working from the folder of instructions, doing half measures all the way and then discovered he didn't have all the ingredients at the last item (orgreat, which he obviously didn't know what it was)... After pouring a glass to taste, we negotiated an alternative (basic sugar syrup), he then proceeded to throw away the first glass and replaced it from our jug. So we were one glass down on our incomplete, poorly made cocktail before we started. Then he said 'thanks gentlemen' as my girlfriend a I left the bar. Awesome stuff! We were lost for words. Would we go back? Ya know what, we probably would.. Go figure!

It is very homely and comfortable. In the winter they usually have a real log burning fire and plenty of winter warmers on the menu. The Sunday lunch is also particularly good. The staff are very nice and well trained, especially in the wine and the food. Great place..highly recommend it.
Hilton Garden Inn Doncaster Racecourse

The unique feature of this hotel is it seems part of the race track directly behind it. There's even a terrace area to step out onto and the view of the track is front row. I happened to be staying there during a race and it was nice to be able to look out the window to watch the races. The rooms are nice and comfortable as well. There's a decent gym as well Breakfast was good with a full hot and continental spread.

The room we were in was quite noisey from the traffic. Wouldn't stay here again as it's too much hastle with the car parking.

Facilities were exactly as advertised & room was spotless clean and comfortable. The only down point is that the food served in its restaurant was appalling. Above all the medium rare sirloin steak (recommended by our waiter) which was tough, nervy and with plenty of sinew tissue (tasted more like a bad rump steak) + the pepper sauce was tasteless. We noticed that other tables were complaining and leaving their meals as apparently they got the same meat cut as I did. The profiteroles were served with an out-of-date cream that tasted really dodgy. Piece of advise, yes, stay there but eat elsewhere.
The Gardeners Country Inn

The staff were really attentive and very pleasant and personable without being in your face! Because it was a special occasion I had booked a cabin. I chose a spa cabin, a little bit more expensive than the standard but still excellent value and the jacuzzi was enormous! After a bottle of bubbly and a luxurious soak in the bubbles we were ready for our bed on the mezzanine. The rooms were terrifically well appointed and quite by far the most reasonably priced luxury we've enjoyed in a long time. I have a feeling we're going to be holding a lot more celebrations at The Gardeners!

Apart from the hotel, there is also a Spa, Club, Gym and Play area for the kids, its like a smaller version of a wacky warehouse called Woodys, its a lot airier and modern, with big glass windows! The inside play area is more for the under 5's but they also have a large park outside for the older kids. The staff are helpful and friendly, and they also have an offer at the moment for Parent and Toddlers from 11.30 -2.00pm you can get a free hot drink if you stay and play.

I visited recently with my family to have a Sunday meal in the Hotel Restaurant and it was awesome! We met up in the Conservatory first then made our way to the restaurant. We were shown the menu and there was an excellent choice of starters, main courses and desserts - something for everyone! The staff are very friendly and professional and the table service was excellent. From ordering our food to having it served at the table was very quick and the food was hot and delicious. We didn't feel pressured or rushed to finish, it didn't matter how much noise we made (within reason!), there were strains of happy birthdays being sung around the room at other tables! Well worth the price, which I think was £15 for a three course meal served to you at the table (we were with family members who paid for the party, so not 100% sure of the price). Definitely worth a visit for a Sunday lunch! Highly recommended.

The breakfast room had a lovely view of the turn in the canal. You can easily walk into Nottingham centre along the canal too, where you can get to the cool bars that are on the canal. If you go along canal the opposite way you will meet the Trent river and have a smashing view of Notts Forests City grounds. It's a nice walk too, during which we saw a family of Canada Geese. I guess it'd be a pretty handy hotel for the of Notts Forests games, as well as any of the cricket games at Trent Bridge.

Its recently been modernised and refurbished, and the results are there for all to see. The hotel is stylish and comfortable. The rooms are likewise modern and comfortable, and wouldnt look out of place in more expensive country hotels. The restaurant is known as The Brasserie, and is excellent. From the plentiful breakfasts to the evening meals - a variety of choice from the everyday (steak and chips) to the slightly more special. A choice of drinks and a very good wine list compliments the food perfectly. The big selling point here is the New Leaf Spa - a new, modern health spa which would put any other to shame. It looks superb, and offers a pool, sauna, state of the art gym and a wide ange of beauty treatments for both men and women. The estate caters for all kinds of breaks - hiking, cycling etc, as well as offering conference and wedding packages. Its certainly one of the best hotels/spas in the area, and it compliments its surroundings perfectly.
