Toby's staff is very professional, great with children, cheerful and inspiring. They offer a first free class on Saturdays at 11AM. They started him with a pool noodle to understand the basic stance and moves. Toby has a kind way of requiring respectful behavior from the students. He moved on to using full Olympic weapon and protective gear by the 3rd lesson. He loved having chances to "stab his teacher" on the last day. It looked so fun but also extremely educational!

My son had his 10th birthday at Duke City Fencing today and had a great time. The end of the lesson the kids got to fence one another in full garb. Everyone had a blast. Duke City fencing set up tables for our food, supplied the silverware, plates and cups and cleaned up. A very nice facility and a lot of fun. My husband also participated and it was quite the workout he said. My son now wants to take fencing lessons. Highly recommend!

The staff has been consistently unprofessional, and when I raised valid concerns about my child's care as well as other children's, they were dismissed as "complaining" rather than being properly investigated. Her daycare contract ended 7/31 and I wasn't notified till 8/6/2025 and was told she couldn't return unless the EECED could issue a contract by 8/8/2025 One of my biggest concerns was that my daughter was mishandled by a teacher, and despite reporting this, the staff member remained employed, and I received no meaningful follow-up. I've witnessed staff yanking children by the arms, yelling in their faces, and slamming and pushing on tables leaving children to cry for hours completely inappropriate and unacceptable behavior around young children. Additionally, there are serious hygiene concerns. They wouldn't change gloves or even wipe down the changing table during changes, My daughter would often come home with rashes, and it was clear that diaper changes were not being done regularly.I also observed a lack of proper sanitary procedures, including throwing food into the trash and then serving the plate to the child, spraying cleaning solution on the table while children are still eating which is deeply troubling. When asked if we could potty train our almost 2 year old I was advised not to by admin as they do not have proper staff and couldn't accommodate as she didn't want to have to hire additional staff. They currently have a high turnover. Staff consistently has their phones out during wake times and nap time. There is no consistent communication between parents and teachers, and safety protocols (such as moving tables while children are seated) are not followed. They don't have no structure and let the kids run wild despite saying they are teaching an age appropriate curriculum based daycare. My daughter has had to be rushed to the ER as they had her foot in a string tourniquet from her sock for hours and didn't check her foot we were told she just could put weight on her foot and was exhausted from crying. We called to check in and Admin wasn't even aware of the situation she was just crying uncontrollably and no staff checked her foot despite not being able to put weight on the foot. On Monday her eyes were swollen and red from crying for over an hour with out consoling or helping her re-regulate. I wouldn't recommend this establishment to anyone

Watching kids splash and squeal under these souped-up shower heads reminds me of the photos I've…read moreseen of kids in NY boroughs, dancing in the spray of a wrenched hydrant, in the midst of a hot, humid summer day. I did grow up with humidity but we kids didn't have to rely on fire hydrants, I could go swimmin' in many of the 10,000 lakes. Anyway, when I'd see those pictures, I always wondered why the kids looked like they were having so much dang fun. It's just a fire hydrant on blacktop, for God's sake. Now I get it. Now that my kiddo loves it, I get it. Spray parks are totally carefree, mom and dad don't need to do much monitoring, and they're a way to simultaneously stay hot and cool, as opposed to the cool down/warm up routine of a pool. This is a terrific spray park with capacity for easily 40 or 50 kids, I'd guess, and it's a terrific way low-cost alternative venue for birthday parties. Lifeguards around here seem to have just one responsibility: (blows whistle) "No running!" Tough job, guys.

However, the fee was only a few dollars (3) for my 1 and 3 year old and there are friendly lifeguards on duty. There are two restrooms and two shower stalls. I'd suggest wearing your suit to the park. There isn't really a great place to change. The building is older and looks a bit run down. You are able to bring in snacks and /or a cooler. The spray park is on a small slab of concrete. There are 6 water features and about a dozen covered picnic tables around the perimeter. I really enjoyed this enclosed park. It was small enough to watch my daughters splash and splash from my shaded seat. I like splash parks because they are more relaxing than taking little kids to the pool (less worry) and the kiddos have just as much fun. My family will definitely make this a regular activity. Behind the splash pad is a park with a full basketball park, baseball field and what looks like a petting zoo (?) that you can see from behind the fence. There are painted murals as well.

La Petite deserves 0 stars. IT TURNED OUT TO BE A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE FOR MY CHILD AND FAMILY. I…read morepicked him up around 430pm and I smelled stool so there in the back of my car at La Petite Anaheim parking lot I changed his diaper. I had never seen dry poop until that day. I felt like crying. We got into the car and I realized MY 2 YEAR OLD WAS IN A STOOL SOILED DIAPER FOR MORE THAN 3 HOURS because I logged onto the Brightwheel application and noticed that the assistant teacher didn't mark that she had checked his diaper at the time they have scheduled diaper changes. In September 2021, I toured 3 La Petite sites and in the end chose this specific location because it was cleanlier than the other La Petite locations around. Before enrolling my son at this Anaheim site I did plenty of research; I met some of the 2's age classroom teachers, site supervisor, manager and I can't believe how far I was misled by all of them. I thought that because the staff is aware that parents are watching them through the live Cam, they would be on their best behavior. Boy was I wrong. I did not see ONE lesson plan being implemented but on their daily lesson plan there are 3 listed. La Petite Anaheim clearly lies to NAEYC because they do not uphold lessons as a priority and therefore do not deserve to have its accreditation. My son went there for 2 days. I used to have my child care center site supervisor license in California so, through my lense, La Petite was SUCH a nightmare for my child and family. It was extremely difficult to get past the nightmare because we felt horrible for having put our son through that. For weeks after taking him there, he would wake up in the middle of the night crying and screaming saying words like if was asking for help. My child did cry for some of the time he was there which is normal because that was the 1st child care center he ever attended, but I never saw a teacher come down to his level to talk to him and comfort him or hug him. When they spoke to him, they always talked down and instead of getting down on the ground and addressing his feelings. It broke my heart when I saw that he was watching a propped-up tablet in the corner of the room and the assistant teacher walked by him, and as soon as she walked away from him he was suddenly bawling with tears and she walked past his and bumped his shoulder with her hip as she walked past him. As soon as I saw that, I flew down there and took him home. MY CHILD WAS NEGLECTED by this teacher and school. Please don't take your children to La Petite. The list goes on but I honestly have PTSD from such cruel and horrible "child care" center. I ended up finding a great school for him at Hoffmantown Kids Express 2 minutes away. Unfortunately, because he had such traumatizing experience at LA petite Anaheim, it took him so much longer to get close and comfortable with the lovely staff at Hoffmantown. Of course, I spoke to the manager and district manager of La Petite of all of the above and requested my I think it was about $250 to be refunded but there was no refund for their horrible behavior.

This group of talented people had an newbie orientation and Roller derby being something on my "must do" list, I gave it a shot. I knew very little about the sport and my skating skills are rusty at best but they are motivating and helpful. Once I was a part of the league I was invited to great fundraising events and practices they have at various locations. They pitch in with helping the community and are starting up a youth team. I am smitten by the roller derby world and you will too.
