It is a very nicely fenced rectangle that is separated into two individual dog parks. The small dog park actually has four full-grown trees in it and the large dog park has a twig planted? If they could have just extended that fence out a few more feet they would have had at least two full-grown trees in the big dog park as well as two stumps from the big ones that were in there they cut down? There is a nice water feature right in the dual gated entry area so at least you don't have to take your dog all the way outside of the park to get a drink. Actually putting it in the gated entry area accomplishes two things with one fountain. Both dog parks have two benches inside of them to sit on, the small one has shade of course and the big one has none? They do have cute little painted paw prints on the walk to the front of the dog park! Beach dog park only has one poop bag dispenser and one trash can which goes a long way to explaining all the biological landmines. I have no idea how we lived with our dog before the dog park!! I was pretty hesitant about taking…read moremy pup to the dog park at first because it seems like you always hear bad things about them. We didn't have a fenced in yard and my pup just needed somewhere to run. City requirements made me so much more comfortable with the other dogs in the park, knowing that they were also vaccinated and registered. The secured entry ensures that not just any dog off the street can wander in. The other dog owners are friendly and responsible. Everyone keeps a close eye on their pet to ensure that play doesn't get too rough and poo is picked up. If someone misses their dog pooing, other folks will either help find the 'land mine' or often pick it up for them. There are multiple water bowls and a faucet with fresh water to fill them up at (which owners take turns doing regularly). There are two separate play spaces, one that's ~four acres and another that's for small dogs under 22lbs. The facility contains several benches and waste receptacles with free dog waste bags. The many "regulars" at this park form an awesome community. Everyone chips in to keep the park in tip top shape, owners know almost all of the others dogs' names, watch out for each other's pets and share both funny stories and useful info that can only come from another dog lover. There's even a playground outside of the park for the kiddos - dog park outings are fun and active for our whole family!

Good size with two areas, one for small dogs and the other for all dogs. Bowls and water is available, even a port o john for people. Only wish there was more trees within the dog area because shade makes for happier dogs and humans. So far all dog people seem kind, professional and aware of surroundings. The layout is designed so well that it couldn't be better! I've been going here for years. It's a bit of a drive for us but always well worth it. 26 acres of fenced in areas plus wooded area with clear paths and all of this for the dogs to run freely!!! When they leave they're exhausted and couldn't be happier! Having Great Danes it's so nice to have some time for myself when we leave cuz the both of them are sleeping and probably having dreams about their adventures at this park?!!!:):)

It connects to another trail as well if you cross the street. We came here for the paved pathway to be able to use our stroller for our baby.

The first is yes, water would be great. I'm so used to those great people/pup drinking fountains around town that I stupidly didn't bring my pups water. Luckily a very nice fellow dog parent allowed mine to sip some of his dog's. Also--poop bags! I've seen them at other parks. In fact, I'm pretty sure swift run has them, which is why I didn't bring any with me. Thankfully another nice pup parent gave me one when we needed one. Parking can be dicey but it's a lovely stroll through the park to get there. Also, after 5 PM you can park at Kellogg Eye Center which is just on the other side of the bridge. Not too bad! My pups love it and I love not having to drive far to get here so in general it's a winner. Just come prepared with water and baggies.
