My dogs always love running into doggy daycare. You can tell the staff really enjoys taking care of our fur babies.

Love this place so much. Every time I bring my dog, she starts whining as soon as we turn on the street wanting out of the car. The folks here really love her and I know she has a good time. I love the community outreach they do with their patrons (give always, doughnuts, Instagram shoutouts). They make it super easy to drop off and pick up too. I've been out downtown before and encountered an employee who knew goose and ran up to us and loved on my dog like it was hers. read more

So, yesterday our dog was here for daycare. One of the employees kicked him backwards and he nipped at her. They called us saying he bit her because of her allowing the dogs to play with the leads. We received the video. Does not show any leads at all. But does show our dog sitting and waiting for something the girl had in her hand,,, which turned out to be leaves not leads. The video clearly shows her kicking him forcefully backwards and as she does this he nips at her. They claim he broke her skin and was bleeding but yet won't show any pictures. The owner called and claimed she kicked him back After he bit her and she would never kick a dog. Refused to take responsibility and continued to blame our dog. And when they decided to show us the video at the kennel it had been tampered with and was glitchy right as the part showed her kicking him. They weren't very brilliant though since they had already sent the tape that showed everything. In addition to this incident my mother in law took her dogs here to be boarded for about 3 weeks a few months ago. When I picked the dogs up they were soooo filthy and smelled so bad that we had to take them immediately home for baths. They're small dogs that really don't play much so it's not from playing with the dogs. And to top that off their beds were disgusting as well. They had to put one in a plastic bag it was so dirty and smelly and disgusting. I would never recommend this facility ever to anyone. Don't leave your dogs here read more

We have boarded our dog at Camp Ruff n More many many times for short 2 days to 10 days. We are very pleased with the people there. I'm really surprised that I'm the first one to review Camp Ruff-N-More! Then again, apparently I'm not. Yelp is confusing on this. That being said, I really like Camp Ruff-n-More. They are a really good boarding service and day care for dogs, friendly people who are very accommodating when need be (I should know... they've always been helpful with sudden or unexpected scheduling changes) and I've left my dog for almost three weeks with them and he was super happy to see me and super happy to go back to camp. I know my dog likes being there - he starts running around the house whenever I ask him if he wants to go to camp! - but I do wish they were a little more... I don't know... less relaxed? But that's not a criticism. They really are the best boarding service in the Tri-Cities that I'm aware of and I definitely recommend them. They have a limited amount of grooming services, but I've been happy with how my dog is treated. read more

Throughout the life of three dogs, Camp Ruff N More has consistently provided a fantastic way for my dogs to get socialized and expend some energy while I'm at work. Overnight boarding is super convenient, and is staffed longer hours than most, so the dogs get excellent care. Staff is always courteous, kind, and treats the dogs amazingly well. We boarded our dog for a week here while we went on vacation. I am NOT impressed. The place seemed very disorganized from the start. When we picked up our dog, I complimented another dog who was hanging out with the guy at the front desk. He said, "Yeah? You can keep him. Actually, take as many of these dogs as you like." I did NOT care for his attitude- when I take my dog to a "Camp", I want him treated well and kindly, and I am just not sure that a person with that attitude is capable of that. Also, they lost our leash, and our dog's collar had been chewed off of his neck, and no one could explain that to us. Therefore, I'm not sure what kind of supervision the dogs get during the day while they are playing. I would not recommend this place at all, and our dog will not be going back. read more

This is the best option if your dog can play well with others. The staff are great. The facilities are always kept clean and well maintained. I never hear barks from dogs inside because they are either playing with each other or napping. My dog Princess Allie gets excited when we pull up the drive and leave the camp satisfied and satiated. The online booking is also very up to date, which makes your planning and sending of documentation an ease. You can also call and you always get a human answering the phone. read more

My son took his dog there for a week while we were on vacation. He picked up pink eye and had to go to the vet the day after he was picked up. When I called to tell them and ask if they would help with the vet bill they said we're sorry, but no. So not only did my son have to pay $230.00 to them but a $50.00 vet bill as well. If you take you pet there be prepared to have an extra vet bill added to the price. read more

Firstly, I have to confess that I have never written a negative review in my life- not of a product or customer service experience, and definitely not of a company. But, after our experience with Camp Ruff-n-More I feel compelled to make a statement because our encounter was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Since we moved to Johnson City last year, our dog has been an active and frequent visitor to "camp," both for daycare and extended boarding. Because he appeared to be happy after he visited (often tired from playing), we were willing to overlook the pungent smell of the facility, the overcrowding, and the unfriendly staff members. Unfortunately, at one point, our dog was even injured because the fence was short enough that it proved jumpable for mid-sized dogs. That should have been a sign. However, up until this week, every time our dog came home from Camp Ruff-n-More we were told that he "had fun" and "did good." So, we attempted to shrug off our complaints and move forward. But, the worst and final incident took place this week. A staff member asked that our dog not return to "camp," because he apparently got into two altercations with other dogs while they were entering/leaving the play area. I was shocked, disappointed, and confused to hear this, especially because the behavior was so out of character and unprecedented. We utilize the Johnson City Dog Park frequently and our dog has been boarded in numerous other facilities without incident. I took this charge very seriously, and wanted more information to pass along to our dog trainer. But when pressed, the staff member could provide no additional information- none. Apparently, our dog had been demonstrating "increasingly aggressive behavior" that proved concerning. This was news to me- there had been no mention of this during our frequent visits, no documentation, no phone calls, no specific information or examples. I will admit that the visit prior, the staff member off-handedly commented that he had "snapped" at a larger dog, but she did not express concern or "warn" us that the incident was problematic. The encounter seemed relatively normal. When I went to pick my dog up for the last time, I encountered further frustration and unhelpfulness- she "did not know" the answer to my questions because she "was not there" when it happened. After half a year of patronage, our dog was dismissed because of an incident for which there was no forewarning and without satisfactory explanation. I understand and appreciate the need for safety, but as a loyal customer and attentive dog owner, I also feel that the way the matter was handled, explained, and rationalized was unsatisfactory. Honestly, at this point, I am happy and relieved that we will no longer be using Camp Ruff-n-More. If you value honesty, knowledgeable pet care, friendliness, and professionalism- this is likely not the place for you or your dog. read more

I don't know what I would do without Camp. I try to keep myself busy and with two large dogs in a smaller home, I often have dog Mom guilt about their lack of activity during the day. It's awesome to be able to drop them off and pick them up when I'm finished with my errands! Both of my dogs are excited to go and get some restless energy out. Corey and all of staff in JC are incredibly friendly and kind to Arianne and Jolene! The girls get boarded there overnight as well, and are happily worn out when I come to pick them up. read more

Please note the other review was written 3 years ago. We boarded our girl in the Spring of 2014 for 5 days. She had a blast. We asked to observe her playing, when we went to pick her up. The staff was nice and allowed us in the back. The dogs "were" supervised. They were playing and running. Our girl was having fun. We rarely board her. When we've used other places, she was mad at us when we picked her up. After Camp Ruff-N-more she was not mad. She was so content when we picked her up. She smiled all the way home. We were excited to see her so happy. She will be attending the camp again soon. Although we hurt to board her and miss her, we think camp is a good thing for her. They take proper precautions by getting medical records, too. read more

We care for our pets just like our children and took careful consideration where to leave our son-dog. We found Camp Ruff N More to be a safe and loving environment. I called Camp RuffNMore on April 23rd to get some information on boarding my dogs for the weekend. I told them that I had a pit bull mix that is very kind hearted and lives with another dog. They rejected my dog from boarding just due to his breed. I believe that this is extremely unprofessional and predjudiced. I do have a friend that boards her dog there and I will be informing her of what type of service this company conveys. The business should meet my dog first before passing judgement upon him. read more

We left our dogs here several times. This first time it was for an afternoon to see if they would be OK for future boarding. When we picked them up they were happy to see us and relaxed. The second time was for several nights. When we picked them up their bedding was urine soaked. They are both housebroken and if let out as needed will NOT have accidents. Thinking that it was because we left them for several nights and they were upset we left them again for an overnight stay. When picked up they were OK - not happy but OK. We noticed a deep wound on one of them that could only have happened while they were boarded. No explanation was given. Recently we left them for an afternoon and one of the dogs planted her feet and wouldn't go inside until the other dog did. When we picked them up they weren't thrilled at all. In all of our comings and goings, the staff was only friendly the first time. On other occasions, sometimes the staff wouldn't even make eye contact. Hindsight is 20/20 and I don't like what I am seeing. Never ever again will my dogs be left there for any reason. read more

I do not recommend taking your dog to this facility. My husband and I took our 25 pound cavapoo there for a "trial run" (per their request) so they could see how he got along with the other dogs and make sure he was not aggressive. When we dropped him off the faculty was somewhat shady and vague. We let it slide and said we would give it two hours and go back to pick him up. When I returned to pick him up they took me in the back so that I could see where he was being kept and how he got along with the other dogs. When we got back into the warehouse there was no A/C. It was hotter inside the warehouse then it was outside. They had no fans running for the dogs or any doors open to let a breeze in and no water bowls. I also noticed that there were about 30 dogs in his area. I asked if that was average and the staff explained to me that no, there was usually double that. 60 dogs in one area is WAY too many. That is a recipe for disaster. Then I asked the girl who was watching the dogs how he got along with the other pets and if he did ok. She copped an attitude and acted like I was inconveniencing her and responded with "fine". Once I got my dog out from inside the gated area and was leaving the warehouse I heard the same girl who copped an attitude with me screaming at the other dogs to "SHUT UP". Really? They are dogs, they are going to bark. Basically what it came down to were the humans running this place. The staff was in my opinion unfriendly and incapable of taking care of the amount of dogs in the facility. I was not impressed at all with this place and could foresee issues of my dog not being attended to correctly. STEAR CLEAR OF THIS PLACE! read more
