I had heard about it for…read moreyears so it was fun to finally see it in person and see just how popular it was despite it only being 15 degrees outside. The price includes one hour of time on the run and folks typically can make it through 2-3 times. I have to say, I was surprised at just how much fun I had watching strangers go down and seeing the whole thing. It's quite nostalgic. You can park at the top of the run or at the hotel (where the track spits you out).

The toboggan rental is easy and straightforward. You fill out a yellow sheet before going up to the window and then need an ID to rent up to 4 toboggans. They range from 2-4 people and cost $13 an hour for each one. Then $6.50 for each additional half hour. If it's busy you can only go down once in an hour, but with fewer people it's possible to get down 3 times if you're walking the sled up each time. People who drive in their car with the sleds May be able to go down 4 times. I personally liked having to hike back up with the sled. It's great exercise and reminds me of running up the hills to sled back down as a kid. The sleds go up to almost 40mph. We got up to 37mph with two adults and two kids (11 and 12). It's thrilling and fun! The only scary part for me was waiting on the metal steps going up. I'm scared of heights and I was shaking waiting in the line, but it was worth the ride down!

I'm a new member, and I've only used the aquatic center so far, so this review is only in regards…read moreto the swimming area... And the food court. I am completely impressed with the whole set up. The aquatic center seems to have something for absolutely everyone: a lap pool for the serious swimmers, which isn't wide, but is full length; a winding walking/floating area with a bit of current for walkers like me and those who want to drift in big, blue inner tubes; a fantastic water slide as good as many at water parks I've visited; and a zero-depth play area with a giant bucket overhead that fills with water from a suspended faucet and tips over periodically, dousing all those playing below! The area is high-ceilinged and bright, with huge windows on all sides. There are tables and chairs, and lounge chairs. The locker room didn't wow like the rest of the aquatic area...but it's a locker room! I'm planning on exploring the weight area next, which is large and filled with what looks like state of the art machines. I'm told you can always get advice about how to use the machines. About the food: I've eaten there three times in four days and the food was delicious, abundant and remarkably inexpensive. I told them they need a drive-up -- they're so much better than fast food! I'm actually considering coming here with friends just for lunch. The facility is well attended, even in the dog days of August, by folks of all ages, colors, and physical fitness. A couple of previous reviewers harped on its location as low-income: it's not in an upscale part of town, but it's hardly a poor man's club. It's a bright, clean, well-run facility that caters to everyone. And who doesn't want that?!! The staff I dealt with, enrolling and subsequently, were pleasant and knowledgable -- nothing like previous reviewers experienced. My membership is $30/month, for which I get free range of the facility all day, everyday. Classes are extra, or I can upgrade to free classes for $40/month. I don't see how you can beat that!

After four years of my daughter attending this gym we have left…read more There were a couple of classes where a young male substitute teacher taught her class whom I thought was extremely rude. My daughter was uncomfortable because she's never had a male teacher and she is quite shy to be in with. When she won't give him a high five he would make her feel uncomfortable. I thought maybe things would change once she was more comfortable around him. She had one make up class to use before it expired. They only class that was available was with this teacher. I told him I signed her up for his class which he seemed happy. Now to the day of her makeup class. My daughter asked a question that he would not answer her. At the same time two other girls ask similar questions that he answered right away. He made her stand in the middle of the class until she answered her own question. This happened a second time but to make it worse he stopped the whole class to answer another girls question and again made my daughter stand to try to answer her own question. He then told her to go do something and get out of the way. This is not her normal class so she was not use to his style of couching. She did not want to return if her normal teacher was not going to be there because this young male teacher was her back up. It got to the point she would ask her teacher if she will be here next week. If he talked to students like this when there parents are sitting right there I can't imagine how he treats the girls when their parents aren't there. We started looking for another gym because she was so uncomfortable. We finally found one that she will make her new home. My daughter had one last class before her monthly enrollment was up. As we walked out she was really sad. We talked for a couple of minutes. She had a change of heart and wanted to talk to her teacher about what happen. There was no compassion towards my daughter. I was told that she doesn't want to discuss this matter that she thinks very highly of him. Also, he was her back up. She didn't let her discuss what happen or I am sorry that happen or I am sorry you felt that way. After this we walked out knowing we made the right decision to leave a gym after four years and almost $3000!
