Ilove zipping around the lake in the kayak, and the finishing isn't too bad. There is a volleyball net in the shallow area of the swimming area, as well as a water trampoline, and "blob" to play with in the lake. The kitchen in the mess hall is spacious so your group can make meals for the masses! Although, there is also a kitchen in the main building that is smaller, for those small groups! It's over all very peaceful, with outdoor and indoor games for people to play. Everyone loves a good puzzle in the afternoon.

They provide the helmets for you to wear. Some of them were pretty worn out so you just have to dig for one of the few better ones. Wear old sneakers and clothes you don't care for. You'll get horse hair on you and smell like a horse at the end of your hour long experience (you spend 15 mins grooming at least, or longer before actually getting to ride the horse). Our instructor (who I am working sure was in her teens lol) was very professional and patient! We were taught how to groom the horses (which allowed us to bond with her) before riding it around the property. The property seemed pretty large and they had a trail that leads into the woods of the property. The horses seem to know the drill all too well as you didn't have to nudge them to begin walking. They also knew exactly where to go and which turns to take on the path. All in all, it was a pleasant experience.

Definitely recommend checking them out!

Another check mark on my list of visiting Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy preserves. On a…read morebeautiful December day, we ventured to Marcellus (Cass County) to explore the diverse woodlands and wetlands of Spirit Springs Sanctuary, a 124-acre preserve owned by the Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy (SWMLC). It was named Spirit Springs in part because of the surface stream and groundwater seeps on the site, but also because it is a place that lends itself well to peaceful reflection and the renewal of mind, body and spirit. Classic glacial topography of the preserve features rolling woodlands that surround a 7-acre pond and borders 65 acres of spring-fed wetlands. A small creek connects the pond and wetlands. The mixed trees and evergreen woods are punctuated by openings where prairie plants grow. The wetlands include a swamp. I need to return in the spring or summer to see the wide array of plant communities. A network of maintained trails provides access to the various areas of the preserve. Come prepared for walking woodland trails and perhaps some wet areas. The trails are well marked and are relatively easy to moderate. It was a great day to be outside to enjoy SW Michigan's nature.

When the pandemic hit, we knew it would be an indication of dedication as to why businesses would step up and answer the call to challenge and diversity or cave to the many existing pressures. The Star team chose to rise up and answer the call, bringing along with them a group of like-minded students. What came out of it was an even stronger team who demonstrated the life skills they taught: respect, discipline, communication & confidence. This weekend our daughter became one of the youngest black belts and has enjoyed being a student and now leader at Star. We can't say enough about Masters Mr. & Mrs. Birky, Ms. Torres, Mr. Cooper, Ms. E & C Gallegos, Mr. Schoettmer, Mr. Hartman & Mr. Hawkins along with all the other instructors who are learning to lead and assist in classes or who may no longer be at Star. You are an extraordinary team with life long goals both meaningful and purposeful. We appreciate the practice and effort you've given us, and as newly signed-up parents, we are now looking forward to our journey to black belt as well. Once again, we continue to strongly recommend Star Martial Arts - Elkhart to foster all the important life skills parents are teaching their children.

Took it in to get fixed the last time and to get it winterized and never heard back from them when it was done. They ended up not fixing it till this Spring and expected us to pay for the winterizing over the winter when we didn't even know if it was done. They charged us late fees and all for the winterizing. When we got it back here in the Spring they told us it was fixed and water tested. We took it out for the 1st time over the weekend and it over heated and had the same leak as last year that they said they fixed. Now we get to take it back in and probably wont have the boat back by the end of the Summer again. Very disappointed in the communication and dedication of this place.
