The ropes course was the only great part of the trip along with the fireside. I loved the activities and the bonding experience I made the past three years here, so i recommend this place if you want to do some team bonding (not really to go and relax)

We did a small retreat here…read more There's multiple cabins (not heated or cooled) for boys/girls/counselors/etc., a large theater, a cafeteria, dance studio, rope and climbing courses, on the lake (kayaks and canoes), hiking trails, basketball, tennis, and running tracks, a baseball field, plenty of green space, and well-stocked with water and containers for ice/drinks. Bonfire space and an indoor basketball area. The staff here is friendly and they are fairly accommodating. The food there is normal (tacos, burgers, hot dogs, salad, etc.). A fun place, if a bit far from NYC (there's actually a grocery, pizza joint, and gas station nearby). A parking lot for those with cars.

A grown man called us "lazy" for sitting down, and made us go to the art room. He was very rude and pushy. The staff take certain activities too seriously, screaming or even pushing children if they mess up. And be mind there are 5 year olds at this camp. I personally saw one councilor who made a kid cry because they sat in the wrong section. The "boss lady" would yell at kids for expressing their feelings One of the councilors would be very rude and passive aggressive shaming us if we didn't participate. The wait time for activities are also EXTREMELY long. We had to wait almost 2 hours until the next thing. And most of the time the councilors would make everyone sit on the ground. My friend and I went there for one week and I have bruises from having the sit on the HARD ASS GROUND. And lastly the boss was so rude to the councilors, one had to fake talk to kids to make sure the boss wouldn't see her sitting. Do not recommend for any age. Especially teenagers or smaller kids. Horrible environment and staff.

One of the best…read moreparts of this camp is that all children have the opportunity to swim in an indoor olympic-size swimming pool every day with daily swim lessons. The pool is clean and well maintained. Our other favorite part of Future Stars Suffolk is the giant indoor air-conditioned sports arena that the children play in every day! I never have to worry about my children over-heating outside in extreme summer temperatures or miss playing sports and being active b/c it's raining outside. The large size of the arena is phenomenal and Future Stars sections it off for the different sports and age groups. All of the counselors at Future Stars Suffolk have been fun, friendly and attentive. The director is excellent, very visible and hands on and the entire office staff is always kind, prompt and responsive to any questions I have. We highly recommend Future Stars Suffolk!!!

We were all anxious and signed him only for one week, and mentally ready to go pick him up early in case he wanted to come back. I remember receiving a call from one of the directors two days after Camp started. I thought: my son is homesick and they are calling to go and pick him! Instead of that, he asked to call home to beg if he can stay longer! He was having so much fun and enjoying himself. For summer 2017, he wants to stay the 4 weeks!!! He can't wait.
