This was the 2nd time my 2 cats have ever been boarded 1st at this establishment). Check in was fairly straightforward..though took a long time. I had a tour of the play areas and all seemed ok. I did specify that my cats had never been with other cats & are skittish. Times for dropping off/pickup are extremely strict..not sure why. I don't think my cats were ever out of their shared condo. No pics, no communication. I emailed, called and left messages. I finally got a call back on the day of pickup..not really acceptable. I had arrived home two days early and wanted to pick them up. One of my cats was completely traumatised by the whole event. Spent 3 days being extremely clingy and crying. For me this was not a good experience. read more

They ensure that you can see your fur baby while you are away by posting daily pictures, several times a day, on social media. You can also call to inquire about your kitty and they will graciously answer your questions and ease your mind, should you have any concerns. I highly recommend Camp Kitty to anyone who needs somewhere safe for their cat to stay while traveling. Based upon the overall great reviews I decided to board my cat at camp kitty while we were away 2 weeks. Yes they provided his basic care but I will never leave him here again. Most of the day is spent in the condo. My cat seemed very stressed and he was so obviously relieved to get out of there. I also did not find the staff very helpful. Disappointing that our experience seems so different from others. We will make other arrangements moving forward. read more

Our little guy is really not socialized with other cats and we usually just leave him at home and have a caretaker come by, When we had to do serious construction in that home, we really didn't have that option, so we made the call to camp kitty. Cutting to the chase we would recommend Camp Kitty to anyone needing to board their cats. When we arrived there, I quickly felt at ease for the following reasons. With a FULL HOUSE *facility looked and smelled clean *cats looked healthy and relaxed (nobody was scared or whining) *the stuff owners left with the cats was also clean and in good condition How they manage this with so many different cats and litter boxes so close together I don't know. What I do know is Camp Kitty runs a tight ship. They post pics on Flickr and when I saw our cat hadn't come out of his crate, I called and they knew which cat was ours and gave me detailed summation of his health and behavior..... very impressive. Next days we saw him coming out of his shell and looking confident. We were appreciative of the staff letting cats out with owners permission and playing with them. If there is one con, it would be the concept of the enclosures. While they are plenty big for any cat, it would be nice if they had their own rooms, with some elevated platforms to climb. That said, there may be good reasons for the acrylic enclosures. read more

Came in for the tour to see if we'd like our cat to be boarded here while we go on a cruise in September of 2022 and we were blown away by the efficiency and dedication of the members working. Not a single cat/kitten looked miserable. We dropped by to see where he would be staying and got the full tour of the facility. I have one cat who was adopted from a shelter and she is very anxious whenever I go away for more than 2-3 nights; she is convinced she has been abandoned and develops an UTI, despite a sibling cat and feeders. Camp Kitty has really resolved that issue for me as my cat then is not left alone to 'fend for herself.' Camp Kitty has been a wallet-saving find. Yes it is cheaper to board her then have to get her diagnosed, and treat her for 3 weeks. (Again typically treatment is 2-weeks, welcome to my life of needy rescued cats). Unfortunately her sibling hated being boarded at the old facility, so unless my trip took me away for a week or longer, she got by at home. However there are still those trips where I have to board her. Ever since Camp Kitty opened at the new location however, this particular cat has gotten along fine. Even the facility mentioned her change in demeanor, for the good! The new facility is clean and welcoming. The cabins are nice and the cats get individual attention, along with dietary customization. And they update their Camp Flicker site with daily photos to alleviate pet owner worries. And for the regular travelers, there is a return camper program. Every 12-nights is one-night free stay. Highly recommend this boarding facility for your feline companion. read more

This was our first time boarding our two cats. One of our cats is very nervous around other people and other cats so we were really worried about boarding him, but had no other option. The check in process was easy enough and the first girl that helped me check in was super informative, helpful, and reassuring. They promised to post daily photos of your cats on their Flickr which is nice, but saw that my nervous cat was in his crate for every single one. We called to check up on his progress while we were gone and the woman we spoke to was dismissive of our concerns and rude. We asked if she thought he spent all of his time in his crate and she replied with "how would I know?" There was nothing we could do, being thousands of miles away, so while it left a bad taste in our mouths we let it go. When I finally came home and got to pick up the cats, they seemed scared (which is normal) but otherwise fine. They washed the bedding I gave them for my cats which was also a nice gesture and I was grateful for them taking care of my cats so I didn't mention the rude woman we spoke to days before. However once I took my cats to my car, I placed their carriers SNUG side by side (with absolutely no room for error) facing me to calm them while in the car just as I ALWAYS do when transporting to and from their vet visits and the woman from Camp Kitty let out a snide "thats precarious." I think I know how to transport my own pets. I left my cats in Camp Kitty's care because I was unstable to do so for a few days not because I don't know how to care for them. I know it's a cat specialty boarding service, but your employees don't have to be "catty." read more

We got our tickets and packed our bags to head out for a relaxing 5 day vacation. But sadly, we don't have anyone in town to come over and watch over our calico kitty. What to do, what to do?! She's never been boarded before and we didn't didn't feel comfortable putting her in a regular pet boarding facility, we certainly didn't want to place her in 'pet purgatory' on the plane, and we didn't want to cancel our trip. Camp Kitty to the rescue! We love the fact that it's a cat-only Camp and that they can roam free from their cabin to various locations throughout the camp. The 'camp counselors' are well trained for kitties and are really good at reading their cues...which helped quell the fears of my wife and I should something awry come up, or even just to ensure the kitties are cared for, petted, and loved. We were able to bring some of the comforts from home - her blanket, some fun toys, and the snacks and food she's become quite picky about! Even better, they post the cutest pictures of the 'cat campers' on their Flickr feed daily...so when we got wi-fi signals, we could see how she and her fellow campers were doing. Sadly, we'll be moving to another city in the next few months, and hope we can find another gem like Camp Kitty in our new home. Will certainly be one of many places we'll miss here. At least we can watch the daily stream of cute cat pics on their Flickr page.... I mean, c'mon, isn't that what the internet's for? :) read more

I went on vacation for a week and needed to board my cat. I was a little nervous b/c I had never boarded her before. They took excellent care of her and she wasn't freaked out when I picked her up. The woman that runs the place genuinely enjoys cats which is wonderful when you are leaving your 4 legged friend. Bonus points is they also have a retail space in the front which sells cat food and litter as well as other cat related stuff. I will definitely use Camp Kitty again in the future. read more

We just picked up our 12 year old rescue cat from Camp Kitty today. They took wonderful care of her. While she was upset about the trip to and from there, when we got her home it was business as usual and she was very happy. They took pictures of her every day and made sure she was well taken care of even though she is definitely a 'grumpy cat'. They were nice enough and the cats didn't seem traumatized when they were picked up. The problem is they both got really sick for over 2 weeks after being there. Neither has ever been sick their entire lives. It was very costly trying to get them well. No type of refund was ever offered to help make up for our vet bills after. Some kind of restitution should have been offered. read more

I brought my 12 year old cat here for 10 days while we were overseas and felt very comfortable that j was leaving him in good hands. They have a flicker site where they post pictures daily of your pet, which made me feel happy that we could see him. I recommend them highly. Prices are very reasonable and they let the cats roam around if they want to, and if not, they leave the door open so he can if he wants to. The "cage" is a plexiglas multilevel dwelling that feels very much at home. I would definitely bring him back if we needed to. read more

The staff was incredibly friendly and caring and the drop off an pick up were very easy. We have boarded out cat here 3 or 4 times (for up to a week) and had a great experience each time. The Camp is clean and well organized. The cabins seem to offer plenty of space, and they will let your cat out to explore for a while each day. They post pet photos on Flick while your'e travelling so you can keep an eye on your pet too. Our cat does not seem stressed at all when we pick him up. We'll certainly board our cat again! read more

I have lived in Atlanta for 4 years and have been very unhappy with the few choices available to board my two senior cats. They've always come back to us unhappy and kind of dirty??? We discovered Camp Kitty through their "Scratch It" cat adoption blog, and decided to visit when we were looking for kittens to adopt. We fell in love with one and then two of their foster kittens (and the two were fast friends, so it would've been shameful to separate them) so we went through the process with AARF and took them home. At the time, we noted that all the fosters and paid kitty-guests in the building were taken care of with love, expertise, and intuition. We've only had cause to board our cats once, but of course we sent them to Camp Kitty and the experience was exactly as I expected. read more

We boarded our three cats while having some work done on our house. They were there nearly two weeks (after having never been boarded). Camp Kitty was dear to us and to them. I was able to go see our furry ones daily, and that really helped their human through that period. They acclimated pretty well, but we are all glad to have them home. Camp Kitty is fantastic, and worth the price even with the new rates. I looked into boarding my cat for the ten days I will be out of town this year at other vets/facilities and nothing compares. Sure, they may be cheaper but the few extra dollars to board at camp kitty is worth my peace of mind. Most other facilities will keep the cats in a fairly small metal cage for either the entire time they are there, or let them out less an hour per day. Hooray for Camp Kitty! read more

I went with Camp Kitty because of the positive reviews on Yelp. I needed to board my cat long-term (20 days) while in the Atlanta area. I liked that Camp Kitty replied quickly to my email enquiries. I found their rates very reasonable and they include TLC as a matter of course. When my cat became ill (through no fault of Camp Kitty's, he has medical issues) they kept me informed with timely updates and recommended a great vet. Camp kitty really came to the rescue when we needed to evacuate Savannah for hurricane matthew. We were recommended by Ansley Animal hospital and are now going to always use them anytime we need boarding. They were kind enough to wait for us to get into town to check in our cats, which almost brought me to tears. They also lets us add on an extra day in understanding we weren't allowed back home. Our three cats got to stay in a nice big enclosure together by a window. The space consisted of a litter box, cat tower, 2 beds, and little ledges for them to sit on. They also received love daily from the staff members. There are also extremely sweet cats that hang around the office that need homes and are very well behaved and adorable. We are moving back to Atlanta soon and will ONLY use camp kitty! Thank you to the entire staff! read more

We boarded our special needs cat that needed daily medication. Because of his special needs, he tends to be cranky. The staff was not able to handle him very well. Their approach to him made him more aggressive and ultimately they couldn't medicate him for 2 days. For easy cats, they'll probably do well. Also, my cat came home with fleas (we've never had them before) and it's taken us a while to eradicate them from our house. read more

I am so disappointed in how Ronald (I think thats his name) at Camp Kitty handled my first ever boarding experience of my 3 cats! As I write this review I am on the verge of tears because at the moment I do not know where one of my cats is. I needed to board my cats on wednesday 12-12 because some work was being done at my new apartment and I didn't want my cats to be stressed by all the noise. I was also going to Charleston, SC for the weekend so my new roommate agreed to pick up the cats for me after she got off from work. I dropped them off at around 8am (in 3 separate carriers), paid $36, and all seemed fine. That evening when my roommate was on her way to pick them up, she got stuck in traffic on I-285 but called Ronald to tell him she would be a few minutes late and asked that he could please wait for her. He told her he was only willing to wait until 6:03! She said she will try her best but at 6:01, he called her back and asked where she is and she told him her GPS said she was 9 minutes away. He said "well I have to go pick up my own dog so I'm leaving now." My babies had to stay in that strange and foreign place overnight because he wasn't willing to wait 9 minutes. The next day, I called to pay for the overnight stay ($45 more). My roommate also left work a couple hours early this time to be sure she made it before 6pm. When she got to Camp Kitty, Ronald packed up the cats for her but even though I dropped them off in 3 separate carriers, he decided that it made sense to pack 2 cats together in 1 carrier and gave my roommate the 3rd one empty. She is not a pet owner so she didn't know to question this arrangement. When she got home and was carrying the bigger, kennel style carrier up the stairs to our 3rd floor apartment, all of a sudden the bottom broke from the top and my 2 cats went running in fear! She was able to catch one and get her in the apartment but the other cat is skittish and afraid of people so there was no way for her to catch her. I got the call on thursday night that my cat is outside but because of prior commitments, I wasn't able to drive 5 hours back to Atlanta that night. I was able to get back to Atlanta tonight (12-15) and my roommate and I have been scouring the apartment complex looking for Peaches. It got too dark so we had to put it to rest but right now my baby is spending her second night outside in the cold because I cannot find her. I plan to get up at the crack of dawn to look for her again. The reason I am angry with Camp Kitty over this is because 1st of all, there was a reason why I dropped my cats off in 3 separate carriers! Even though 2 cats can fit in the bigger carrier, it has a weight limit of 25 pounds! The big sticker on the front of the kennel says so! My roommate doesn't know how much my cats weigh but Ronald does because their weight was required on the registration form! All 3 of my cats are 16-17 pounds a piece. Why on earth would you not pay attention to that?! If he had put them back in the carriers they came in, my cat would be at home right now in her warm bed! But instead, she is out in the cold in a neighborhood she is unfamiliar with because she's a strictly indoor cat! I called Camp Kitty today and left a voicemail for the owner to call me but Ronald called me back instead to ask why I was angry. I told him that I was upset for how he unsafely packed up my cats for transport and that now one of my cats is missing. His excuse was that the 2 of them were asleep in the kennel so he just closed the door and let them stay in there. He kinda chuckled and said "Well I don't know what you expect me to say." I said back to him "And this is why I requested a call from the owner and not from you!" He said to me that she would be in later on today and that he would have her call me but I never heard back from either of them. He never offered an apology or anything! He didn't even care about what was going on with my cat and I was shocked and appalled by that. I found Camp Kitty online and chose them because of the great reviews they got. They're supposed to care about cats. Also, the website touts that Gwen, the owner is the one that takes care of "the feline guests" but this is not the case because she was not there either time and she obviously didn't think my concerns were important enough to simply call me back. I want my baby to come home and I also want my money back from Camp Kitty! Never again will I take my babies back there! read more
