I booked their 5 night stay and knew they would be in good hands. I picked up two happy, exhausted (from daily play time) dogs following their stay at the Ranch. The staff was very friendly and seemed sad that Karli and Shiloh were leaving, which made me feel good about the time they spent there, knowing they were interacting with the staff often enough to know their names after their friest visit. I also appreciated receiving their daily report card upon check out. In DC where I recently moved from, playtime is as an extra expense, but is included here. I enjoyed the video cameras in the play pen/yard so I could check up on them and see they were OK. I also appreciated that they received a bath the morning I picked them up. This totally throws off her feeding for the day. She cannot eat after 7:00pm for she takes Oral Vet for dental and cannot eat after taking this. I would avoid this place and look elsewhere for your beloved pet. Very disappointed with Management and their decision making. They allow dogs who pose risk back with open arms.

Background info- He was having a reaction to the rabies vaccine from a different vet place earlier today. They were closed and this was the closest place to us that was still open. The staff had great patience and communication. I'm pretty sure they saved his life. I'm coming back here from now on. I felt awful calling so close to their close time but the lady that answered the phone assured me it was perfectly fine and to come on by. Our normal place of care is Banfield as we have a monthly plan with them, but they were booked up. They didn't try to get any extra tests/labs to get more money out of us or anything like that and recommended antibiotics and steroids to calm the symptoms down. Within a day our dogs paw was better and she wasn't limping anymore. The exam fee was $98 and we paid $151 in total. I really appreciate taking the time to help us so close to closing and paying attention to details. The staff treated our dog with exceptional care and lots of love. We just moved to San Antonio and had been looking for a place to board our 2 dogs. So, I was ecstatic when I found Red Barn! It's exactly what they're used to. They have a good sized property in Bulverde, with plenty of space for the dogs to run around, shaded space outside, indoor air conditioned kennels, and even some pigs and llamas. Communication with Lisa was great, and it was easy to get them scheduled and get their vaccination records submitted via email. Lisa checked in with us midway through our trip and sent photos of the dogs playing. As with all good boarders, you should book as far in advance as possible. I was able to get them in with 9 days notice the first time, which was awesome. The next time they were booked for a weekend 3ish weeks out. I'm so relieved to have found a place I feel comfortable taking our dogs when we're traveling.
