I have heard good things about the MPA, trade, non-proliferation programs - seems to have good brand recognition with the non-profit world. Job potential - good The MBA on the other hand does not seem to have as much brand recognition - after going to many interviews in San Francisco (nearby), a student was asked, "MIIS? What is that?". The course content is good quality although for the final MBA project called "International Business Plan," I have heard it is not worth the amount of work (so, a lot of research - we know how to do already - but not many additional practical skills integrated). Job potential - so, so depending on your contacts/internships. Administratively, many students have experienced much frustration, especially when trying to combine degree tracks. They are many times told one thing and then told the opposite later - or a general lack of support and feeling that the students are valued. Some administrators seem more interested in "covering face" or thinking of the school's interests rather than providing a quality service for the students. Do not expect flexibility. Do not always expect transparent communication - or responsiveness. Do not always expect fairness (different rules for different students) based on subjective preferences. Can be shocking. The career center is not very large, which can be expected from a small school. If you hit it off with your advisor then all is well - 1 advisor per school (degree track). If you don't, then there are not a plethora of choices for your specific school, which could work to your disadvantage.

It may be frustrating if your child can't attend, but the process is clearly laid out or explained if you call. The front desk staff is knowledgeable and has overall been great. The room staff is also nice and keeps us informed. They also offer twice a month "date nights" from 6-10 and they will watch your kids for $4/per hour/per child. We routinely take advantage of this service, being able to go out alone and have both kids watched for maximum of $32 is wonderful!
