Such a great resource, especially for first time parents trying to connect with other families. We've been to music class, tots in motion, and age related classes and they're all great. The staff and teachers are all very helpful and nonjudgmental. And the other families we've met are lovely. Our nine month old and I have thoroughly enjoyed all the classes. I also really like that they encourage parents to test a class out before committing to it. We joined partway through a session and they pro-rated for us. read more

I've been taking my son to Parents Place since he was 8 months old. He's almost 2. We both love it! We do the specialty class and MaryLees class. I've met some of the most amazing moms. My son also has friends I know he'll have for a long time. The teachers are incredible too! It's so nice to have a routine and a few things during the week to look forward to. I highly recommend Parents Place to all new parents! Such a wonderful resource for our area! Btw-I'm not usually a group person but this has proved to be something more..it's a community for all--introverts like myself or extroverts. Crazy kids or calm, shy ones! Parents' Place is an amazing resource for parents of young children. My four-month-old and I attend a regular "age-related" class with other babies about his age. It's 2 hours, but the first half hour is a chance for everyone to get there (napping schedules, etc.). It's a great place to meet other moms who are going through similar experiences and there are plenty of opportunities to ask questions. It's located in the Pacific Grove Adult School and each classroom has a changing table and a few rocking chairs, though we sit on the floor in these comfy floor chairs that support your back. There's a Wee Chant sing-along every Friday for 0-1 year olds, which we love to attend. It's reasonably priced for what you get out of it: $120 a semester (fall, spring, summer) or Wee Chant is $10 for a drop-in (Wee Chant is included if you do an "age related" class. All around, I highly recommend this wonderful Place! read more

I can't say too many positive things about Parent's Place! I heard about PP when we first moved to Pacific Grove and was able to secure a spot in an age related class within a couple weeks of being put on the waiting list. I think they give precedence to folks with a PG address...Anyway, I have learned a lot about parenting from my daughter's teacher, Chinanit. She is very knowledgable about early childhood development and is always approachable. We've been attending class for fifteen months and there is almost no turn over. Same moms and kids every week since we started...Everyone loves Parent's Place! What a wonderful place of support for parents of small children. Totally recommend. read more

Great age appropriate classes for new parents. They let me go to the first class for free. Very friendly and educational.

I heard raving things about Parents' Place when I was pregnant with my daughter and, being new to this pregnancy and about-to-become-a-mother thing (and being new to the Monterey Peninsula thing!), I knew I had to try it out because I had no idea where else I would meet like-minded parents, get support from those who had been there-done that, and find resources to help me become the awesome mom I had always wanted to be. I am so glad I did! While I was pregnant, I took the prenatal yoga class once a week after work. Must-try for working expectant women (all the sitting in front of the computer at work was very hard on my back, which was already suffering from the extra weight of the expanding belly). My husband and I also attended the childbirth class (taught by Tricia Williams of Baby Moon) and found it very helpful. After our daughter arrived and was around 4 months, I started attending the age-related class. I love it! I get so much useful information from the class, get to interact with other parents who are going through the same things, and my daughter gets to play with other babies. I love that you can bring your questions to the class and know that they will always be answered, whether during the class with the other parents, or after the class privately with the teacher. You are also never late to the class, which is awesome because all babies/toddlers have different nap/feeding schedule. They also offer a variety of other classes, such as tots in motion, young at art, and fun with food. I have not taken my daughter there yet, but hope to be able to do so soon. There are several group meetings too: la leche league and breastfeeding support for nursing moms, dads at home, postpartum support group (a must do if you suspect you may have postpartum depression, or just need support after you have your baby), toddler attachment, and many others. The library offers great books for both parents and children. I am very thankful Parents' Place exists and recommend it to all new parents! read more

Parent's Place is the talk of the town in Pacific Grove/Monterey. Now I know why! I am so supported by the community of teachers and the fellow parents/grandparents/family members who attend with their little ones to the classes. I really love the age-related classes, and also the extracurricular classes such as "Tots in Motion" "Art" Food" and "Science"... all for little ones under the age of 3. I have two sons both under the age of 3 and I look forward to our weekly classes. It is an encouragement to get to know other families, play games, and explore discussions on parenting or child development topics. Parent's Place is one of Pacific Grove's little gems for parents of small children. They offer classes for children from newborns to age three. I love the weekly "core" classes that you attend with parents and children that are all born within the same couple of months of eachother. You stay with the same group of parents and children and get to watch your children grow up and learn things together. It's a really safe and friendly environment. A wonderful place for mom's and dad's to be able to socialize and let your children play and explore. In addition to the age group "core classes" they offer many other classes as well. Including art, science, fun with food, tot's in motion, music classes, and also prenatal yoga and Mom and Baby yoga. I strongly recommend that any expectant mother and all parents of babies attend parents place. The friendships and experiences you will find here are priceless. read more

This safe haven for new mommies and daddies to come for weekly core classes of sitting in circles with new little ones and talking about anything and everything, from baby vomit, sleeping problems, dealing with the in laws, to pick up your baby or let them cry it out, parents place has created a nurturing and supportive community where you can grow into the parent you always wanted to be.
