A real craftsman! I took shoes upon my brother's review {he has been going there for 30 yrs} polite, respectful, and super knowledgeable. Put both complete new soles on boots for only $26 and fast service. Don't go by the reviews that say he is harsh...I couldn't imagine all the knuckleheads that bring in shoes that can't be fixed demanding that they be. The man is one of the last true artist. He also fixed my wife's purse that had been previously botched by another place and made it perfect for $9. Only place I will ever go now and traveling quite a distance to get there for me....well worth it! Thank you! Minor corrections my brother caught. The boots were not resoled but fixed expertly {restitched etc.} and reglued...so still a complicated process done superbly so I have boots for years to come! read more

I walked in the other day following right behind a older women. He was asking her what he could do for her and she needed to be sized ect... for a shoe. He didn't speak, say i'll be right with you" or "hello," nothing! At the counter I noticed a "BLUE LIVES MATTER" sign so I turned around and walked out. I have had several items repaired here and it's always a fantastic job. David is focused on providing excellent work and will be honest if he's not able to bring the work to a level he considers acceptable. I had some boots re-soled a few years back, and because they weren't leather, he was very forthcoming in saying that he would do his best but couldn't guarantee it. Although they were not top-of-the-line to begin with, I really loved them (and still do!) and he made them so comfortable and they looked better than when I bought them new! Looking forward to another season of wearing them! Because I remembered how friendly he was and how well the first pair of boots turned out, I just had work done on some high-quality items (DUO boots and a Longchamp purse) and the end results are awesome for a very reasonable price. I don't mean that it was "OK" or "passable" - I mean he totally killed it with a non-traditional leather color and leather that had been exposed to ice-melting salt. I don't think this place is an actual shoe repair place. It looks like one on the outside. It looks like one on the inside. It even smells like one, with the shoe polish and all. However, I have never successfully given this place any business. Anytime I go in, I am told my shoes can't be repaired. Soles, uppers, leather, man made, whatever - the answer is "nope I can't fix these." I don't know how he stays in business. Maybe it's a front for the mob, who knows. read more

I brought two pair of shoes which needed the heels replaced. I've previously had them done several times with Mike's Shoe Repair in Lansdale. Since I'm not in that area I decided to give Camody a try based on a recommendation from a business networking group. They told me that the heels shouldn't be replaced since they were plastic and not wooden. When I pointed out that I've had them done several times in the past, they said they could do it but they wouldn't stand behind it, and that I also needed to pay half up front. They seriously charged $18 a pair ($36 for two pair of shoes, $18 up front) for a simple re heeling, and didn't even include a quick polish. When I got the shoes back a week later, they were done sloppy and inconsistent. The cobbler was messy and left residue/glue hanging out of the heel. They're acceptable to wear, however I will not be returning to Camody again. read more

I have a pair of Italian dress shoes that I care a lot for. After noticing one shoe had the stitching come lose and both had the heals that were worn out. I need a shoe repair fast - but wanted a place that was really professional. Found Camody online and decided to give them a chance. I have had my shoes repaired in West New York, NJ and it's pretty cheap. Camody seems to have a good deal of business and everything inside looks clean and elegant. I found it a bit pricey - but then when I got the shoes - I was really impressed! Finished job was amazing, the shoes look brand new!! They have a nice selection of shoe polishes and cleaning accessories. Better price than most places. I sure going to bring back every shoe I have that needs a repair - I'd rather pay a bit more but have a quality job done. Even though I live in Philadelphia, I still prefer to get my shoes fixed at Camody (in my hometown). I've only gotten boots re-soled here before but it is totally worth it when you are paying $36 to get your favorite pair looking good as new. Dave is a superior shoemaker! He completely rebuilt two pairs of recraftable, Goodyear welted, Johnston and Murphy loafers for me. This included new welts, insoles, leather stacked heels, and full leather outsoles. He is trustworthy, honest, and knows his craft. In the past, he has also reworked full leather belts. I get very nervous when it comes to things like this, and don't trust easily. However, when one of my favorite purses ripped I thought it would be worth a try and see what they could do. For only $7 they fixed my purse to the extent it looks like it was never ruined in the first place. Then to even go above and beyond he even cleaned and shined my purse and it looks as if it's brand new. If your happy with mediocre results, then this is the place for you. The overall job wasn't good. Re-heeled a pair of shoes and shined them. The workmanship is only so-so and the shine was a bit sloppy. Good news is the heal is aligned and trimmed well, so at least I will get more life out of the shoes. Price wasn't bad, So there is that. Overall though, when I voiced my dissatisfaction the owner assured me he didn't care and that I can try any other shoe shop. Doesn't seem to value customers (aligns with some other reviewers experiences). That's a huge turn off for me. read more

I took a pair of my favorite gray Frye boots here while I was visiting my dad from Chicago. One had an uneven heel I wanted replaced. I dropped them off on a Tuesday and they weren't read until Friday. I didn't need to wear them so I didn't mind. But you'd think with 4 days to work on them the quality of return would have been better. First, though the heels look new, the right heel is still uneven. How that happens I have no idea. Second, my lovely soft and worn looking Frye boots look like they've been *dunked* in black shoe polish. They are a totally different, totally UNWANTED color. I was horrified and near tears when my dad handed them to me. Guess I should have ponied up the extra dollars to have them done in Chicago. At least there they probably know what Frye boots are supposed to look like. What I'm going to do with them now I have no idea. read more
