I had been to a few good coffee shops while in Mexico City, and beyond, such as in Puebla, but none were my favorites like "Camino a Comala." We had stayed in Collonia Condesa (an area in Mexico City that I highly recommend if you ever visit b.t.w.) and we found this coffee shop when going next door for some tacos de pastor. Anyhow, after we visited the first time, my husband and I visited this location two more times while staying in the area, and a last time just before we left Mexico City. Yes, we took an Uber just to come back and buy some delicious coffee beans from this store and to get one last mocha (because their mochas here were absolutely worth teleporting back if I could).
The service here, as is typical of most coffee shops in Mexico (unlike those coffee shops where baristas who are paid more up North than they are here and still aren't as friendly) is the type where they wait on you at the table. Of course, they will give you your space and let you work on your laptop, but they intend to make sure you are served and satisfied. I was so impressed with the barista that I asked if he knew whether or not they were on "Yelp," and he didn't, so I told him that I promised I would make sure I left a review. The young man was so kind to also write down some needed information for the coffee beans I bought, and he wrote their origins and also what likeness and how they were roasted.
Their shop is very cute. I made sure to take plenty of pictures. Including the cute scull face the barista made for my mocha. The shop has plenty of space and a quiet working area in the back room, with plenty of outlets if you need to charge while here. The internet was really strong as well.
If you are in the area, I encourage you to come here rather than that Seattle coffee shop. The beans here are single origin/ ethically sourced and all from Mexico. I bought some from the Chiapas and Sonora locations. read more
