Rude! I feel bad for the vendors in this place. Too many other places to shop where you are treated better!

The very first thing when I walked in was a very rude older gentleman at 4:37 PM stating that they're closed when they close 5 o'clock I said can I please take a look around? He said no no no you need to leave extremely rude, he was horrible . I'm appalled. I go back the next day. He's rude again with my Service animal in my stroller telling me I have to to leave I said he's a Service animal he said nope nope nope there's no red service tag. Nope you gotta leave and I said I don't even wanna stay because of how rude you are. ** Do not shop here you will see an *****older gentleman with silver hair on his phone doing absolutely nothing except being rude, rude, rude, rude, and rude. read more

!!! EXTREMELY RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL OWNER !!! We visited the store on Feb 21, 2026. I found an old toaster from Booth 3331 with a 25% off green sale sign. We took a photo of the discount sale sign to the checkout desk. The man at the desk informed me that the sale "ended December 31st". I said, "It's Feb 21st and the sign is still up." He refused to honor the discount. I asked for the manager, and he stated he was the owner. I politely declined purchasing the item because he did would not honor the sale but purchased an antique hanger. My friend also purchased a couple items. Upon leaving, we both said, "thank you". The owner did not say thank you or your welcome at which point I said, "you should say thank you." As I'm walking out, he grumble something under his breath and I turned around and asked him what he said. He had the audacity to call me rude! The total discount he refused to give was ~$4. For that amount, he lost repeat customers which actually hurts the vendors that rent from him. I DO NOT RECOMMEND stepping foot in this place. read more

Huge antique shop! Each booth was priced differently, but all were reasonable. Highly recommend! Spent 2 hours in there just looking around.

NO BATHROOM! I was clearly a customer with items in my hands asking where I could find the restroom. No public bathroom with the closest one a block away at a coffee shop. Are you kidding me???! Had to go so bad, dropped all the items and didn't go back. read more

So excited to check this place out but the person working the front desk was so condescending & culturally insensitive. They started ringing a bell to get us to leave instead of walking up to us and telling us he was closing (it was 15 minutes before closing.) I was surprised that there was such bad reviews here! There were a number of people of "color" shopping here myself included, all were welcome. There was an older lady and gentleman at the front checking everyone out and they were as nice as can be. This place has a bunch of booths set up the people must rent every month and out there stuff in there. It's all so random. Some people stage their booths and it's all organized and pretty....some people just stack all their crap up in a corner and you need to be careful before causing an avalanche of crap. I got a great deal on a Christmas pitcher that was half off. My mother in law loves milk glass so they had a ton at the various booths but the prices are all over the place. There was some vases that I saw at one booth for $2.50 that was $8 at another, so just check around to find any treasures! read more

WOW!!!! All the racist reviews below.... Well I dont know anything about that but I was not impressed at all with the merch in this antique mall. Most of the vendors just had a lot of crap for sale. Stuff that you see at other shops but small and junky looking. I unfortunately will not be back to this establishment. Its always disappointing to not enjoy a trip to an antique mall.... Waco all together needs some help "downtown"! Since all the people are coming in for the Magnolia Market, you think quality people would be moving in and setting up shop. There is a shop just down the street from Magnolia that I cant remember the name of right now but its a two story and 5 steps or so at the front entrance to get in that has some really cute things but it is also over priced like Magnolia. I'm not sure why there are reviews saying "great stuff" - just an example of how one person's finds of "great stuff" is just another person's "this is like crappy yard sale quality" ... many of the booths aren't arranged attractively, just a hodge-podge of stuff, and the main ones in the front were empty. Overpriced & very unwilling to give a better price- was told they don't give discounts for anything under $35 (even if the thing is really only worth $10). I have a booth, different part same state, very busy & attractive antique mall, and we discount 10% on anything over $20 - if the customer asks. And that is without calling the seller. More expensive items, we call the seller and see what they are willing to offer. Customers feel like they are getting a break. This place could care less if a seller sold an item or not - example, I asked about a discount on an item it was obvious had been there for a very long time, it was $34 and the store clerk said we don't discount on anything under $35. So the seller would have sold an item for $3.00 less than priced - and had a sale. Instead, it still sits there gathering dust. This place is not worth a second visit. read more

Went in today (8/19/2022). The store is full of great stuff. I would have liked to stay longer but it was incredibly hot in the store. I felt bad for the ladies who work in there and I felt especially bad for the cat who lives in there. The cat is over 20 years old and it looked like the heat was making it miserable. read more

Upon entering the Cameron Trading Co. on Austin Ave. In Waco,Tx. Two women werr talking. I assumed they both worked there. No one greeted me, so I spoke to the ladies they in turn spoke to me. I absolutely loved this place, the layout even the prices of most of the items. Everything most definitely brings back memories from my childhood. Upon my leaving the two ladies were again talking, I waited for her to acknowledge me where I would tell her how much I enjoyed the store and that I would definitely come back to purchase items. This place was awesome. The prices were AMAZING. Seriously, these were like thrift store prices for antique items. We spent a few hours here and everyone found something unique. The employees were nice, one lady opened a case for my sister and sat there for quite some time while sis looked through every single piece of jewelry they had. I couldn't believe those prices. When you get sticker shock from Magnolia, come here to reset yourself. Be warned, they don't have any bathrooms. read more

This is a large store with lots of booths! Two floors of stuff to pick through! Super fun! It's a must stop! Staff is also very polite!

This is your traditional, classic antique mall with numerous vendors. And it's great! If you like a good hunt for good vintage and antique finds...then you'll love this place. Different vendors have different things and of course different prices. I stumbled upon so many goodies while in here! I collect jadeite and one vendor had tons! I also found antique spindles for my collection. You have to hunt...but if you are a true antiquer...you'll love it! Don't forget to check out the upstairs...so much architectural salvage! read more

I visited this HORRIBLE antique shop today and will never return. My visit was fine until I went to checkout with the older man working the front desk. I was purchasing close to 20 various yardsticks from several different vendors. Most yardsticks were priced except for one vendor that just had them in a large bucket with a sign saying $2 each. This vendor had two styles of yardsticks. I wanted to purchase all of the older yardsticks and just a few of the newer style ones. At checkout the man tells me they are $5 each for the older ones. I tell him where I got them from and that the bucket says $2 each (no where on the sign does it mention multiple prices). He then proceeds to tell me that he technically shouldn't sell them if they don't have a price tag. (Well this is something he needs to take up with his vendor). He is now starting to get a tone with me after I disagree with him on the price and inform him I don't want them. Now I'm down to about 7 yardsticks that I'm interested in purchasing still and the man is now refusing to sell them to me and yells at me to get out! I yell back at him telling him he shouldn't treat his customers this way and he is still yelling at me to leave. I'm absolutely appalled at this mans actions toward me and began to walk out. Very rude male worker. I have been in and out of stores all over the Silos and downtown today. I walked in here for a few minutes and he yelled at me across the store asking me to wear a mask. I did not have one with me. I walked toward the door to leave and stopped to pick up my bags and he again yelled at me to walk straight to the door and accusing me of not listening to him. Do not waste your time here. This man is obviously not in a good place. Everyone else today was wonderful and welcoming. Sad that this was my last stop today. And by the way- this was one of the few places I walked in today where the worker was wearing a mask. 0stars. I came in from out of town so we were just here for the day. I was told twice they couldn't open the jewelry cabinets. The second time they told us "not today, we are too busy." How are you suppose to make a sale if you can't open a jewelry cabinet? They had a man sitting up at the front and lady walking back and forth from the back of the store. Ridiculous. Worst customer service! I kindly approached the man working there to look up a price. He refused to look it up which was ok, but he raised his voice & shook his finger at me & tried to intimidate me. I kindly said, "I'm being nice to you, you need to do the same"....which made him get louder with more attitude. Great treasure on Austin Avenue in downtown Waco. Located in a four story old historic building, Cameron Trading Company is stock full of all kinds of unusual finds. Be sure to check out the second floor too. It is full of great Christmas items and a great booth called Timeworn Elements. (There is a banner with the name on it). It is full of reasonably priced antique and vintage furniture and many perfect accessories for your home. Mark, the owner, is a great guy and has created a unique place in Waco. I am surprised and saddened by a lot of the reviews on here. Cameron Trading is honestly, one of the best places to go to in Waco if you like to antique shopping or thrifting! My Husband knows if the kids and I are not home we are either at a local homestead or at Cameron Trading Co. The owner is so kind to us, my middle son is 3 years old and a quadriplegic in a wheelchair. I often don't bring the wheelchair in because I'm concerned something could break on accident, the owner tells me do what is best for you and that I'm always welcome to have my kids in the store and with his wheelchair. My eldest son is 6 years old and spends many visits speaking with him as he is an English man and my son is very proud of his heritage and is also an english man/boy. We have spent countless hours speaking with the owner as well as his only employee, she has been their for years, carries things to our car, helps around the store, always kind and courteous and we have gotten to know her well. Unfortunately, something I've learned here in Waco after living here for three years and moving from the Los Angeles area of CA is that a few bad reviews for a place in Los angles, CA will not affect them and they will still go strong in the community but here in Waco more specifically a couple bad reviews can damage you drastically. If i can encourage anything its to not believe everything you read or hear, not even my own review- but, to go and see the place for yourself. I promise you won't be disappointed, they have some of the absolute best finds we have ever found for great prices with almost all the venders there. There is a reason why this place is in the heart of downtown Waco and have prime real-estate! I'm incredibly thankful to the owner and his employee, they have shown my family love and been kind to my children. I really hate to give this place only 2 stars, but the experience I had today is inexcusable. Let me start by saying, I'm a loyal customer of the Cameron Trading Post. I've been shopping here since high school and I've bought many great items from this store. But today was the first day I've experienced such rude and intolerable customer service. Another customer accused me of "stealing" a typewriter and tried to stop me from purchasing it at the check out. I showed the employee the tag that I had taken since it was a heavy item that I didn't want to carry around while I shopped, which is what he told me to do since it was so heavy. He never told me it was already taken. The woman insisted that I had stolen it from her possession and the man working tried to find any loophole so that I would give her the typewriter, but I wasn't budging. After trying to offer more money for the typewriter but failing, she finally gave up and left. I got the typewriter, but not after he let two other customers check out before me, saying that "Oh no, you can wait miss". He didn't give me a box or anything and when I asked he pretended to be on the phone and waved me off. My whole problem was that he knew I had the typewriter first, but for some reason didn't want me to have it. I was shocked and honestly quite hurt because I used to love this place, but I'm not sure I'll be going back after being treated so rudely. read more

I have been to this store multiple times with my daughter and have always been welcomed with her Psychiatric Service Animal not an Emotional Support Animal and (my daughter needs her for severe anxiety). Our dog, Rosie is a 5pound maltipoo and we always pick her up when she is in the store. When we walked in the guy at the front desk completely refused our service shaking his head and wouldn't allow her to be in our store and TOLD US THAT SHE WASN'T A SERVICE ANIMAL, he didn't give us a chance (not all service animals are german shepherds, labradors and golden retrievers). My daughter was so upset and now we never go there all because of that ignorant man! read more

I am a local and have been shopping at Cameron Trading for years, but today they lost my business and my family's business. My mom and I came in with our two little dogs in a stroller (as most businesses on Austin Ave are dog friendly), the dogs were quiet and well behaved. Then the woman behind the counter kind of panicked and said they didn't allow dogs because the cat would attack them, then from around the corner came a black and white cat. We quickly hurried out the door, but before we could get out, the cat scratched my mom on the leg and drew blood. Now, I am a cat person. But this cat is clearly a menace and should not be allowed to roam free in the store. Furthermore, if they are going to insist on keeping this creature roaming around the store, there should at least be some sort of warning sign out front, which there is not. Apparently, Horrible treatment of customers is a theme of this place! We had the Cameron Trading Post on our list to do's for this Sunday. We mistakenly thought it was open until 5:30 but upon arriving at 4:40 were promptly told they were about to close. We said,"oh sorry we will just look quickly". The man upfront rudely replied that he was about to ring the bell; and, not 2 minutes later he started to ring the bell and did not stop! It was over 15 minutes to close but nope, he was pushing all customers out the door. He walked around the counter ringing the bell and told us to "stay upfront ladies". We went to the Shops at LaSalle , a fantastic antique find, the day before and were treated respectfully even when we were checking out past closing time. They were laughing and helped us carry items to our car. This man at the Cameron trading, made it clear he neither wanted to sell us anything, but also didn't want us to come back; AND WE WILL NEVER COME BACK! Another couple we saw said that he was equally rude to them when they arrived at 4:30. So, this seems standard at this place. VENDORS who rent booths there should be prepared not to make money. read more

This is an interesting store pack with a variety of proto- antiques from mostly the 50's and 60's. There are some older nice pieces but are priced with this realization. Upstairs there is more but mostly furniture and more worn than the first floor. Compared to other antique malls in the region it is Ok. read more

This antiques mall is like marmite: you'll either love it or you'll hate it. The first question to ask yourself is if you're looking for something specific, something with history behind it, or are just on a treasure trawl. Of those, the only people I'd recommend this mall to are those on a treasure trawl, because the other types of shoppers will quickly get frustrated. I myself am the kind of antiques shopper who will happily dig through piles of stuff to see if I can find anything interesting, and for me Cameron Trading Company is only a few rungs below an abandoned dragon hoard in a pirate's cove of shipwrecks on the ladder of fun places to spend a few hours. Many of the stalls are cluttered and disorganized, and unless you happen to catch a stall owner when they're actually present, no one will be able to tell you where to find anything specific. You also have to be willing to hunt for things and do a lot of walking, because you can get a wide variety of prices across the mall for similar items: I found snuff bottles ranging in price from $4.50 to $10.00, and it's a pretty big building. That said, there are a lot of cool-looking items that are on the cheap side, and I'm a broke college student who doesn't really care whether an item has a pedigree. I found the staff quite pleasant to work with, as well. I will definitely visit again. TL;DR: Cameron Trading Company can be very fun if you're the type that likes to browse and dig around for knickknacks, but if you like things neatly organized or want historical pieces, I'd suggest trying a different store. read more

This used to be a very nice mall with quality items, however in the past few years it has gone down hill. The upstairs is no longer open and the booths seem to have lots of garage sale quality shelf fillers.
