My husband and I used to go to Goodlife Metrotown for more than a year. We had such a negative and…read morestressful experience when we requested to freeze the membership: 1. I was pregnant, and as it was a risky pregnancy, I asked to freeze my membership. The staff member on the phone was very helpful and informed me that they would call me BEFORE I would be charged, close to the end of the period of freeze. They didn't call me and I WAS CHARGED even though I was unable to practice any physical activity. I didn't receive any refund, even I saying that I could send them the doctor's note. 2. Then, with a newborn at home, I requested the freeze again in a different period, and 2 days later, I WAS CHARGED. This is unacceptable. It is no the customer problem how is the financial dynamic of the company. We didn't receive the refund! Finally, we requested to cancel the membership and also because we moved to Calgary. The staff member said that they need 30 days notice - what wasn't informed to us when we signed up. We said that we wanted to cancel right away and we also requested our refund for what we were charged on the 2nd time. The lady said that she would cancel it but the refund could not be made. At the end of the day, we basically paid the 30 days notice with the money that we should receive as a refund (for the 2nd inappropriate charge). We feel extremely harmed by this company, we feel that we were charged inappropriately. This is a company that cannot be trusted and that does not treat its customers honestly. If you want to avoid headaches, avoid GoodLife Fitness.

Love Chris and his team for great service! Their equipments are great, always seem to be taken care of. The small sauna and pool great to just relax after a full work out.

Truly a hidden gem, this gym is tucked inside a residential complex in the Lougheed area…read more Definitely a no-frills kind of gym, the equipment and decor isn't the newest and the bathrooms are kind of cramped, but they have mostly everything that you would need in a gym and they are undergoing renovations. My favourite aspects of this gym are the 4 squat racks and deadlift area which are still not too common. At my previous gym, I always found myself waiting for the one squat rack. Here, there isn't much of a wait. People seem friendly and put away their weights, there is free parking, membership is on par with chain-gyms, and there's a pool too. Also, the people coming here seem to be on a time-crunch and don't stall or look at their phones as much. They seem to know what they are doing so sharing equipment is much easier. For those used to the nicer-looking chain-gyms, the weights don't go up increments of 2.5lb if you're used to that. People who are not used to only using free-weights and want to use machines may find that F2K doesn't offer enough variety of gym machines, nor are they very new. The TVs are also limited, not sure if that's a pro or con to some people. Overall, this is a good gym. I hope not too many people come here and ovecrowd it. Also, sometimes they blast Adele on the speakers. I think good-taste is important in a gym, don't you?

Then, to make things worse, they charged me $62 for an annual fee after my cancellation. When I asked about it, they said it's "in the policy." Honestly, it feels like they design these rules just to squeeze extra money out of people on their way out. It doesn't stop there -- if you downgrade your plan, they charge you another $30 fee just to do that. Again, technically it might be "policy," but it's terrible customer treatment. And for what? The gym is overcrowded most of the time, and during busy hours it's almost impossible to find an empty treadmill or machine. That was the main reason I wanted to leave in the first place. So between the hidden fees, the lack of transparency, and the overcrowding, I'd say Fitness World is one of the worst value gyms I've ever joined. I strongly suggest checking out literally any other gym before signing up here.

My favourite day of the week is LEG DAY...so this is perfect given that i murk my legs each workout..thanks to this gym. My husband and I always visit when we are back in town and to be honest - anywhere we go we try to find a gym just like this one. Not crowded, tons of machines.. and people who are there to WORK OUT. . . I miss ultimate fitness and cant wait to go back once i return from ATL. :) Yeah this gym is expensive, but i rather pay $$ for a gym that has equipment and space than pay 10$ at steve nashs for a shitty gym with bunch of idiots. I hate because i have been there and its nothing but a creep sesh for bunch of roided monkeys. OBVIOUSLY, i rather shell out money for a good place where i know people are there to workout and not creep or chit chat. This is a raw gym - and its good for people looking to gain mass and strength. If you are looking for tvs on treadmills, or if you want some attention then THIS is NOT the gym for you. =) A++++++

They turned a massive warehouse into a workout mecca. There is a massive gym space filled with free weights and machines. In the back o the main floor, they have a whole section for legs. In the front when you first walk in, there is a big section of cardio machines. They have a big screen TV to watch as you do your workout. The gym is fully secure as well. You have to use a key card to enter the fitness area. The locker rooms are fully secure with a shower and private washroom facilities. There is an upstairs section that divides into an ab and stretch area. There is a full boxing area and dance/aerobics/yoga area too. Also, behind closed doors is a woman's only section. I personally don't know what's in there, but I bet it's hot! Sorry... They hve good kids working at the front desk who will cook you an after workout meal or make you a shake. Good place to train. Check it out as a member or a drop in for $5.
