I was going here since about 2007 and seeing Dr. Ruth Keeves Cohen. My last appointment was horrible. I arrived 20 minutes early filled out the paperwork. Then the front desk had an issue with my insurance (I've been with the same insurance for like 5 years) after about an hour that gets sorted out. Then I'm told they can't fit me in and they're going to change my appointment to a teledoc visit. No problem. So I have a teledoc visit with Dr. Bidora and the first thing she does is bashes me for being late. In addition to her rudeness. Twice before other Doctors have misdiagnosed me ( I have a heart issue) wanting to rush me to the emergency room. I try telling them that my heart is fine and to focus on why I'm here. Same results I ignore them but just to be safe I drive to My Heart Doctor at Johns Hopkins (waste their time) to be told my heart is doing great. read more

I'll be writing this review also under GW Medical Associates (the new name). As you can see from my review below, this office is run by rude people. But I don't go to doctors much, so I stuck with them. The only thing I needed on a regular basis was my anti-depressants prescribed (I have a therapist but he can't prescribe). I have been going there more than 11 years with the same prescription since I've started . When asked to come in for a physical, I always do so, but if it's been more than a year since the last, they make sure I have enough prescribed through the next appointment. Two weeks ago, my pharmacy texts me my physician refused to renew my prescription. I get a call from the office saying I have to come in for a physical. I immediately say I can schedule and they schedule it for late October (first appointment they have available). Then I'm told I need a medication management telehealth appointment because the doctor refused to continue my prescription without seeing me because I was last in over two years ago, in May 2020. I immediately said I had a physical there in August 2021 (I had medical records through their online system that definitively proved that I was there in August 2021). The person on the phone said she'd let the doctor know that I was there in person a year ago so I can get another prescription to last me until my October 2022 physical. I told them on the phone I was down to my last few pills and needed it refilled soon. I hear nothing. On Saturday, I ask my pharmacy to again request a refill. Crickets. On Monday morning I call the office again because I'm down to 4 pills and getting agitated (I suffer from severe depression (with a brother who committed suicide) so the idea of not having my medications is quite scary ). I am told the doctor was informed I'd been in in August 2021 and had not authorized a refill and there was nothing the person on the phone can do but put another note for the doctor. I asked for a follow up so I know it's been done and was told to call back at 4pm. I call back and get told that the doctor wouldn't authorize my prescription because it was more than 2 years since i was last seen. I again say I was seen in August 2021, as evidenced by my medical records. Then they transfer me to a manager who says the doctor insists I haven't been there in two years (and put in her notes that I refused a medication appointment) and I have to make a telemedicine appointment for a prescription renewal. I say that this is ridiculous as I clearly was there a year earlier and this seems like a ploy to get an extra copay out of me when I have an annual physical already scheduled for a month later but because the office manager insisted I had to make an appointment, I set one up (and told them to cancel my physical, as soon as I got my prescription, I'd find a new provider). This morning I go to this telemedicine appointment. First, the doctor ( Sheikh Bidora) is 15 minutes late (understand I'm sitting waiting at a computer and can't do anything else while I'm waiting). I call and am told she's with someone else and I have to wait another 15 minutes and I'm like if you're going to be late, why can't you just call me when she's ready and I'll sign in then.... obnoxious to have me waiting an unknown duration of time for a telehealth appointment rather than just have me sign in when she's ready. It made it clear they do not value my time. Then she gets on the screen and I tell her that I just want my medication refilled. She says I hadn't been seen since May 2020. I say that is not true, look at my chart, I was there in August 2021. She says, that wasn't a physical so you weren't here, no one signed your chart. I say, I have no idea who signed what but i was there, look at the records, I was diagnosed with hemorrhoids, do you think I examined my own butt and diagnosed myself? She starts asking me the name of the doctor, I said I don't remember, and she chides me for not knowing the doctor's name (like I should know a doctor would fail to sign a record). I tell her I feel like she's gaslighting me by saying I hadn't been in since May 2020 when I was there August 2021. She threatens to end the appointment and not prescribe my meds. So I shut up because I need my meds.Then she insists that anyway it's been more than a year so I had to come in. I said, I was willing to, the first appointment was in October, I just wanted medication to last until then. She says, I can't do that, I've never seen you before. I said, but I've been with this office for over 11 years I can't help it if the office got all new doctors. I am out of space but suffice it to say that any medical provider who would deny a patient with mental health issues a prescription for anti-depressants (the same ones that patient has been taking more than 11 years since being with that office) should have their credentials questioned. Shame on Dr. Bidora and this office! I found someone else already. read more

Practice has gone downhill. No-one notified me that my MD retired. I had a follow-up appointment for a physical with the nurse practitioner, and someone left a Voicemail saying that the appointment was cancelled because the Nurse Practitioner has left. No follow-up for rescheduling, nothing. I called because I had a sinus infection, left 2 messages and no-one returned my call. Poor care read more

All the doctors and medical staff have left, the practice has fallen apart. Do not go here, very bad on so many levels. The people there now are nice, but the patient experience is horrible. They only have 1 doctor and 1 PA. Errors abound, communication is horrible, their systems are broken. So disappointing to see a good practice go bad suddenly. read more

Now that the last of the original providers and nurse practioners have left the practice there is no reason to come here Dr. Sheikh Bidora commented about my varicose veins possible leading to edema, but would not touch me to detect any sign of swelling. Always a man undergoing a physical has his testes and prostate examined. Not that day. A person with heart disease and bypass surgery doesn't even get a stethoscope examination? Pulse examined? My chart had not been read, she had no idea about why medicines had been proscribed. I had complained about knee pains and injuries in the past year. No attempts to assess range of motion. Reflexes. Unnecessary tests were ordered. Dr. Sheikh Bidora is very uncomfortable around men. Staff told me the complaints were all to common, male and female. The practice is hemorrhaging patients. They told me to complain to the office manager. She offered to reschedule me with another physician. There is no reason to return there. Nitroglycerine tablets were grossly over prescribed. The referral to a cardiologist said no sign of cabbage. I had coronary artery bypass surgery. It was in the charts, she saw the scars. I told her so. read more

I don't know what I can add, but this place is horrible. The from reception don't follow COVID protocols (the admin was wearing her mask on her chin!), and not sanitizing between patients. The waiting room itself was way overcrowded and people were not able to give each other space! There were lots of people waiting endlessly for lab work and the person was crazy disorganized. The front desk staff is and always has been stellar and helpful but the practice itself has been spotty in terms of provider caliber and bedside manner. After being yelled at by one of the former providers for not calling her first before scheduling an appointment with an orthopedist for a broken foot, and encountering a rather unpleasant second provider, I decided that it was time to leave the practice. Two plus years later and I've finally found a primary care doctor who is accepting new patients. I do not recommend Cameron Medical Group. They've slipped way into the abyss of poor care and the respect for patients is practically non-existent. read more

As far as I can tell, this group doesn't exist anymore. I was a patient there with the NP and then the MD head of the practice as my primary care physicians for 10 years and got good service and care. Now it's time for my annual physical and I have pain and need a referral and they dont answer or return my phone calls (I have left 3 messages so far) and according to the website, the name of the practice at the same location has changed and the lead doctor is not there and there are some different doctors and nurse practioners, but I have never been notified. This angers me. They have all my personal information and health information and they could have sent me a letter, card, text, email or fax to say the practice is closing or what's going on and refer me to a different doctor. What if I was really sick and needed to see my doctor? So unprofessional. I just noticed the other negative reviews and you would think the practice would be learning something from these reviews or they are useless. read more

If you don't give a crap about COVID, then by all means you should visit this doctor's office in person. But if you DO give a crap about COVID, read on. This was my experience today: * You arrive, and have to touch and turn the door handle to get in (not the worst thing in the world by itself, but not a great sign of things to come. Can't they rig it a bit so you can shoulder in/out?) Also, you can't take the stairways in the building. Small elevator only. * The worst thing: One of the two ladies at the front desk was NOT wearing her mask!! (it was on her chin). The receptionists are behind an unenclosed plexiglas, but COME ON. Clinical and office staff have to be in that (very crammed tight) space too. And the other woman at the front desk was wearing her mask properly but was maybe only 5 or so feet away from her maskless colleague. How long are they sitting there all day like that? * The second worst thing: I waited in the (very small) lobby for over 20 minutes. The day prior I was assured that they would "get me back there very quickly." I do not think 20+ minutes is "very quickly." During that time, at least 7 other people were either waiting in that cramped waiting area or passing through. Not good. * There is NO contactless admin procedures. Not only do you have to touch all the door handles to get in, go to the bathroom for cultures, etc, but they still want to handle your photo ID, medical card, various clipboards and consent forms (for flu shot, payments, etc), and also my credit card. Bleah. I blew through half my hand sanitizer just for that one visit. I was there for over 45 minutes just to get a flu shot and some lab work. I now wish I hadn't; I'm not sure it was worth it. In short, the office is run very carelessly. They seem to just be doing business as usual without much thought to workplace and patient safety. My conflict is that I really like Nurse Practitioner Siobhan Forbes, who is GREAT. And the lab tech Maria is always so nice and efficient. I don't want to change practices since Forbes is awesome, but I think I might need to. This is a doctor's office! Whoever is running this place is being lazy and cavalier. read more

The nurse practitioner is the only redeeming quality that this practice has. Cameron has been my primary care for over a decade now. My doctor retired. One that replaced her last year has left. I've seen a few others and they are pretty good. However, they are only available to serve patients over a camera. I have a medical issue that cannot be diagnosed over a camera or via a telephone call. Other doctor offices are open why isn't Cameron? Additionally, they are going to charge the same to be evaluated over Zoom. This is mediocre medicine at best. To make matters worse the front desk staff is dreadful. She's been with the practice for a number of years and her demeanor has always been unpleasant--downright rude, frankly. I want to associate with a practice that cares about patients and not just the insurance payments. I'm leaving these folks after all of these years. read more

Since Dr. Kevess -Cohen retired, this office seems to have spiralled downward. I called over the weekend (Saturday) and ask that a doctor call me back. No call back. I called Monday at 1030 am and was told they had not yet checked their messages from the weekend. I was also told they had no appointments today. Very off putting experience. What professional-doctor or lawyer-does not check their messages over the weekend or first thing when they get in the office? Non-service. read more

After spending a few minutes on hold (not too bad, I can handle it), and then spending 15 mins on the phone with the receptionist, trying to schedule my first appointment, and providing them with all sorts of personal information, the two proposed dates/times that the receptionist gave me didn't work for me, because of my out of country travels, she hang up on me! Mostly good care, if you can handle the frustrating bureaucracy Today is the third time this year I swear I want to quit this practice. I've been going to practitioners here for about 10 years. I've bounced around to different providers as people come and go and my preferred choice doesn't have appointments available in the short term. Mostly that's been fine and I've had excellent care. Dr. M-L and Dr. O are both great. I think the practitioners there are fairly "by-the-book" for primary care, which is fine for everyday needs. But, you have to put up with the hassles of their increasingly annoying office practices. Call to get a recurring prescription filled? Either have the pharmacist call, or make an appointment. Even though that med is on the list of meds they hand me to review on each of my four visits this year? Increasingly, they seem to be strong-arming you to come in for an appointment for everything. That's a detestable, money-grubbing approach. And it's not the best use of the excellent medical practitioners time. Makes my nuts when the doc says "why are you here" and my answer is "I couldn't get a basic prescription." I just don't want to deal with any business that makes my head explode every time I need to call the office. It's not like I'm dodging physicals, but now I want to. read more

There's really not much more I would say that hasn't already been said but I do have a few things. If you have run of the mill issues, this place may be fine (as long as you have a backup plan if you feel what they've told you doesn't seem right and/or recommendations don't work) but if you are dealing with anything more complex, this is most definitely not the place to get your medical care. They do not have the knowledge or experience to handle it. In addition to being misdiagnosed, they also give terrible referrals. I have had major issues with every single referral from misdiagnosis to the referred doctors having heated arguments in my presence with other doctors of mine (the other doctor was on speakerphone). It's been outrageous! The staff (including doctors and nurses) can also be passive aggressive and have bad attitudes. The good things about this place are the location and it's not hard to get an appointment even though there is no free parking or validation. If you do happen to stumble upon someone who wants to help you here, you will likely still not find someone who has enough expertise or emotional maturity to actually help you. When I've left this office after appointments I didn't feel helped, but rather more stressed than when I came in. It is borderline traumatic. read more

This is the second time I've been ill and actually needed an appointment with someone--anyone. Is it unreasonable to see your pcp when you are ill? Day two of no one getting back to me just happened. Tomorrow will be day three. It's an urgent matter, I left a voicemail Monday, and spoke to a receptionist on Tuesday. I like the practice. It's well-regarded and the care has always been fine. But this is utterly unacceptable. I may end up in the ER (again) for a relatively minor (I hope) issue. And in the mean time, here I am, stressed as hell about it. And when they do get back to me, (if this time is like the last), as I recall there will be no apology, just some defensiveness about how busy they are.) Actively looking for a new PCP. I have been looking for a primary care professional for years! Dr Kevess-Cohen and the other providers have been nothing but top-notch during the 15 years I've been a patient here. She, in particular, has proven to be exceedingly helpful with my very complicated medical needs, always paying attention to the details, having a tremendous bank of knowledge herself, trusting me to know myself, and referring me to specialists when needed. When I have seen Dr. Povar, an NP, or PA, I have consistently received good care from them, as well. The practice is extremely well run, has kind and efficient front office staff, and also has an on-site lab. read more

Finding a good doctor is like meeting your one true love, but for keeping you healthy. It's so crucial to find that perfect doc who you gel with, and who you envision you could develop a grounded relationship with overtime. If you're in the market for a new physician and you agree with what I said above, then you need to run away from this practice. If you don't take my word and decide to contact anyway, I guarantee you the first thing the receptionist will do is put you on hold after they pick up your call, you may be on hold for 5+ minutes. If you/your family member(s) are prospective patients and want to come in for appointments the same day, then you can forget about it because they have a limit on number of daily new patients they will see. One of my family member was scheduled for a physical check-up and I decided to tag along on August 25th. I wanted to check out the practice, get a vibe from it. I did not feel welcomed by Dr. Herbers or his team. Dr. Herbers walked by me multiple times, saw me interacting with my family member, but did not even acknowledge me. He probably didn't know at the time I was on his calendar (for another day, you know, because of their policy) as a new patient too. Dr. Herbers told my family member that checking for cholesterol, blood pressure, or vitamin deficiency wasn't necessary because those are concerns for people who are much older, Instead that my family member needed to increase fruit and vegetable intake because fruits and veggies solve all health problems. Yup. Now, I'm not a nutritionist, but I at least know that you don't have to be a 50 or 60 year old to have vitamin deficiency, if not anything else. Dr. Herbers clearly did not score any points with me, for obvious reasons. On to his staff. I was scheduled for an appointment approximately a month from the August 25th visit (August 25th wasn't even my appointment; it was a family member's appointment; again, I tagged along to get a vibe for the practice). I decided to reschedule for November instead of September due to a recent work promotion. This weekend, I'm sorting my mail, and I find one from the Cameron Medical Group. Turns out I owe $50 for a no-show. The notice states, "we do not "double book" appointments so that we can have the appropriate amount of time with you. It is therefore our policy to bill for missed appointments that have not been cancelled at least 24 hours in advance. The charge for a missed office visit is $25.00. The charge for a missed physical exam is $50.00." The $50.00 was circled on the notice sent to me. I call the practice on my way into the office this morning. Of course they pick up the call and immediately ask if I will hold. Surprise, surprise. The woman comes back, and I explain the ordeal, and she proceeds to put me on hold again. By now, I'm pretty annoyed by the office's lack of professionalism. I reiterate to the woman that I was charged for an appointment that I did not miss, given I asked it be moved to November, that they had a month's notice, not 24 hours as their policy states. The woman on the other end of the call tells me there's no need to be rude if I want her to help me. I correct her that she isn't helping me but rather correcting their own error. She again puts me on hold. She comes back to tell me she would take care of this and contact me. So I asked if I should anticipate a call, an email? She doesn't specify, just that the practice would contact me. Never mind the fact that I haven't been seen yet. I'm not exactly sure if they even have my email since I haven't submitted my new patient forms yet. I have yet to find out if they have removed this charge from my account. You can bet a pretty penny this practice will not be seeing me or my family anytime soon. This is such a poorly run operation. I'm just appalled by this experience. Treat people right so that they are compelled to come back to you, to refer friends and family to you. Because as the practice stands, they're really putting axe on themselves. UPDATE: two phone calls and third walk-through later, the office manager removed the $50.00 charge from my account. I had to make a third call to let these women know if you mess up, the least you can do is apologize and not hang up on your patients. I didn't sense one ounce of sincerity. And something tells me they're not about to change their ways. read more

It's hard to get a new patient appointment but worth the wait. They reserve slots every day to see current patients who need same-day or next-day appointments, which is why there aren't many new-patient slots available, but once you're a patient you will really appreciate that you can get an immediate appointment when you're sick. Well-visits do have a bit more of a wait time - the same-day and next-day slots are for truly urgent needs. I see Dr Herbers. A lot of the negative reviews here complain that the doctor didn't order enough tests or run labs, etc., but this is actually something I like about Dr Herbers. A lot of doctors will run every test they can, a lot of which are not medically necessary and just cost money and stress. This overtesting epidemic/problem has been covered by media like New Yorker and TIME in recent years. Dr Herbers sticks to what is necessary and doesn't put me through medically unnecessary procedures. He's a straight shooter and I've always been able to tell him exactly what I'm looking for, whether a prescription or a referral for my insurance company. He also writes my birth control prescription so that I don't have to get a full pelvic exam every year (gynecologists love to withhold your script renewal to strong-arm you into coming in every year for medically unnecessary testings when someone my age with my risk profile only needs to see a gynecologist every three years). read more

I've been a patient of this practice for three years. I have been very pleased with the level of care I've received from everyone in the office. I started with Dr. Herbers who was excellent, careful, and took the time needed with me. He recently retired so today I saw Siobhan Forbes, a talented NP. I have never had a problem getting in with urgent medical needs. The front office staff is competent and efficient. It's a tough job, and these ladies have been there a while. They know what they are doing. For the haters who don't like the furnishings I say meah. You want marble, glass and tea stations then please check out DC or Bethesda. You want honest, uncomplicated primary care then stay Silver Spring. read more

I went to this practice (mostly to Dr. Dumont and Dr. Povar) on and off for 12 years, with gaps during times I wasn't living in DC. I kept returning because it was easier to get appointments there when I was sick than to start as a new patient somewhere else. Generally everyone there was kind to me. However, the quality of medical care I received was terrible! Again and again, the doctors and nurses I saw there suggested that I might have serious illnesses and conditions, and referred me to get expensive tests that all came back negative. I obviously should have stopped using this practice, but each individual diagnosis was scary and stressful, and I think I felt grateful that they were seriously investigating my symptoms. Also, I was experiencing frequent pain, caused by endometriosis, which of course was not diagnosed and treated until I stopped going to this practice. Here is a partial list of the conditions the Cameron Medical Group told me I probably had, along with the tests they ordered and the actual cause of my symptoms Brain tumor - MRI - final diagnosis was tension headache Breast cancer - ultrasound and mammogram, when I was in my early 20s - turned out to be a clogged duct, disappeared when nursing Mono - the nurse was gleeful about this diagnosis and disappointed when the test was negative - apparently I sometimes get sores in my mouth after a cold, they are annoying but go away in a day or two Gall stones/appendicitis/variety of digestive disorders and cancers - ultrasounds, endoscopy, colonoscopy, various medications - likely all caused by the endometriosis they never suggested HPV/various STDs - again, endometriosis AIDS - I was newly pregnant and had abdominal pain and bleeding, they didn't believe me because the home pregnancy test they gave me was negative, so they told me to go have a talk with my husband. They tested my blood for HIV, but not for pregnancy. That HIV test was negative, the pregnancy test I took at home the next morning was positive, and by the time my baby was born I finally found a new doctor. read more

So I'm finally done with this practice, after being a patient for nearly a decade. Never mind their rundown offices and their website straight out of the 90s, which up to now I've tried to overlook. I have been in good health and have a high-deductible health plan, so I haven't gone to the doctor in a while. About a year and a half ago, I had the cold that wouldn't go away (which ultimately was diagnosed bronchitis and a touch of pneumonia), and when I tried to get in the same day I was having a non-stop coughing fit, I couldn't. Instead I went to one of the local urgent care clinics, and had a great experience. Afterwards, Dr. Povar called me up and chewed me out for going elsewhere, saying I should have waited until they could see me. (This is actually the first time I've had any contact with Dr. Povar the entire time -- although she is my primary care physician, all my appointments have been assigned to the revolving door of nurse practitioners at the practice.) Sorry, when I'm sick, and I can go somewhere a few blocks away and get in to see an actual doctor within an hour (after waiting in a pleasant, modernized waiting room with computerized check-in and then quickly assigned to an exam room so I can lay down and cough in peace), then I'm not going to wait for several days to then sit in a packed and dilapidated waiting room, fill out a bunch of forms by hand, and then have someone who's not even a doctor give me the same diagnosis and care. Today, after waiting for over a week to see if a fairly serious issue would go away, I tried to get an appointment in the next few days. However, when they looked me up, they said that since I haven't been seen in the last three years, I would be considered a new patient, and would have to wait over a month to get in. Let me see if I have this straight: the only time I needed you in the last three years, you wouldn't see me right away, so now you won't see me right away because I haven't seen you in the last three years. Umm, no. I'm done. I found another practice close to my home which gets good reviews, and made a new patient appointment in a week. Their website is modern and you can set up appointments online, so I'm already ahead of the game. read more

Dr. Kevess-Cohen was ok but her intern was pretty unknowledgeable, which was unsettling since the doctor really didn't make an effort to ever really meet me. The 1 star here was generous here and due to the incredible rudeness of the front office and that horrible woman in charge of records. they're pretty much all FACPs, even the nurse practitioner (google it if you don't know what that means). if they take your insurance, call and set up an appointment right away, no matter how long you have to wait. they're great and will work you in any time once you've had that first visit. i've had many many terrible experiences with docs until landing here. read more

Dr. Cohen spent more time with me on my first visit than my last doctor had, collectively, the entire time I saw him. Nobody on staff has ever said a rude word to me and the waiting time is not short, but far better than with most other doctors I see. I have seen both Dr. Povar and Dr. Cohen and they are excellent diagnosticians and refer me to good specialists, when needed. read more

I've been a patient with Cameron Medical for years and am unfortunately leaving because it have new insurance but wanted to leave a review before I go. I won't say anything specific about the doctors because the person I was seeing has left the practice but this place is terrifically well run, and that's pretty rare in the industry. They return your calls, are very professional, seem to maintain confidentiality well, and are over-all very easy to use as a practice. As someone who unfortunately sees a lot of doctors I very much recommend this practice! read more

I really like Dr. Kevess- Cohen. But the front desk person should take some anger management class. I was waiting on the phone 20 minutes to try to make my yearly physical appointment and she kept telling me every 5 minutes " I be with you in a minute, I have not forget about you" while I thought she did. Finally, when she took my call and she asked me "how can I help you" ? I already knew she is not happy. Quickly I explained why I called. She informed me the next available appointment is for Dr. Kevess -Cohen is in end of November . I asked her: November? She said yes she is booked. I try to explain it to her that I cannot wait until November and I really need a physical in this month, August. Then she rudely, like a mad woman, with an attitude informed me" I said she is booked in August, September, October. Do you want November or not"? I told her I will call back. To give any DC area person an idea of how great Cameron Medical Group is- I just moved to Arlington, and I continue to drive to Silver Spring just to see Dr. Povar. She really is worth it. I was a little hesitant about going to Cameron Medical because the wait for an appointment was so long, but a coworker recommended them, so I went for it. This is a wonderful practice for women of all ages. Everyone from the office staff and techs to the nurse practitioners to the doctors are friendly, professional, and give excellent care. Typically, you will be seen within minutes of your appointment, and they schedule them far enough apart that you do not feel rushed. Among other things, I love that Dr. Povar herself will return phone calls in a timely manner so that questions can be answered. This has happened twice- once when I passed out over a weekend, and once when I had to have emergency surgery after hours. read more

The customer service here is truly atrocious. The receptionists do not follow through with messages, are rude, condescending and make for an extremely unpleasant experience. On the other hand, the nurse practitioners I have seen have been thorough, pleasant and conscientious. Competent, friendly, thorough, reasonably efficient. This is how I think of Cameron Medical Group, where I've been a patient for about 14 years. The front desk staff are busy but always courteous, the phlebotomists are experts at dealing with me, even though I'm very hard to "stick." Most importantly, Dr. Ruth Kevess Cohen and Joanne King pay close attention to my history and symptoms; they always take the time to address them in helpful ways. They're warm and engaged, and have helped me through my rare chronic disease as well as garden-variety issues. They also coordinate well with the specialists I need to see regularly. The reason I came to them years ago was that a friend who had been suffering with an acute problem which no other doctor had been able to diagnose or mitigate found the answer, and relief, at Cameron Medical Group. I've been a patient here for several years and it's always been a mixed experience. I saw one of the practice's doctors for a few years, but it always seemed like she couldn't pick me out of a line-up and was seeing me for the first time. After a cancer diagnosis and related surgeries last fall, I tried switching doctors because I figured recognizing me would be a plus. For my next physical, during the COVID pandemic, I received multiple voice and text messages suggesting that I needed to come into the office ("Bring your ID, Ins. Copay and Referral if needed" and giving the practice's address), which surprised me, but I headed in at the appointed time. The office was dark through the glass door (no surprise or complaint there), but then a defensive and angry receptionist emerged to yell at me through the glass door. At the same time, a peevish doctor called to ask why I was late for our Zoom appointment (invite sent the day before). As I couldn't manage two angry conversations at the same time, I hung up on the call, backed away from the office, and fled down the elevator. Thanks, but with my medical issues, I'll find a practice that recognizes and cares about me. read more

This practice, especially Dr. Povar is hands down THE BEST! Dr. Povar has been my PCP for 9 years, and I couldn't ask for a more caring, knowledgeable, smart, kind, compassionate and awesome doctor. She really cares about her patients, and she actually calls you back each time you call her. read more

Two challenges with this office: 1) If you want to see your doctor this month, forget about it. She's always booked up, and the earliest appointments available are with the physician's assistant, and still not till three weeks away. 2) Trying to call the office over the phone is more than challenging because they answer the call and ask to put you on hold before anything else. I literally had to call three times just to cancel an appointment. I was simply left on hold too long while at work when I tried calling the first two times, and was forced to hang up. At this point, I've begun searching for another primary care physician (PCP) and I'm even considering making Patient First my PCP just because they're always available with little to no wait time. I wish I had gotten the "my faithful doctor" feel from this office, but it just never happened. read more
