Found out the hard way, they did not do or prescribe what I wanted period and staff should be aware of this or ask before making an appointment. $111.98 down the drain! and pushy to get me to make another appointment to give me part of what I needed. It seems like they want you to keep coming back to get what should have been down the first time. I should have know better. There does not seem like there are any doctors out there anymore. Most are scared to give certain prescriptions but that is why they are there. Not at all like who I went to who retired and the one before him and before him etc. They were real doctors unlike what you have now. I…read morewent to see her during a very distressing time in my life a little over a year ago, and when I told her my situation she literally said to me, "I have nothing for you." For whatever reason, probably because I was so distressed, I saw her two more times even though she repeated those cold words. The last time I saw her I had had bloodwork done and my chloesterol levels were alarmingly high and had gone up a shocking amount in very little time. She didn't even have the bloodwork results for the appointment, which was only intended to check labs. I had to call the results up on my phone. And when the appointment was "over" she was still talking to me but walking down the hallway. I was like, "Are we done?" Then I got a notice from LabCorps that my doctor had scheduled new bloodwork for me and I called the office to ask when I should recheck. Never got a call back. They also billed me in full, without running the visit through my insurance. I was to pay $348 for that stellar experience. They finally did run it through my insurance and the bill was reduced and I paid it and decided I will never go back there again. I have since seen a new PCP who is very impressive and my bloodwork returned with everything in the normal range, thank goodness!

And the last straw for me was when the current non-concierge practice actually WANTED ME TO WAIT IN PAIN AND SEVERE DISCOMFORT FOR SEVERAL DAYS, instead of just prescribing antibiotics for a urinary infection. They wanted me to wait come in for urinalysis and wait for 3 days for the results before they would provide me relief. In the past they have prescribed antibiotics for immediate relief before without a fuss. But the new practice has no qualms about having women patients suffer for a few days.

I have been a patient with Dr. Menon for almost 25 years. In the beginning, she was an amazing…read moredoctor who genuinely cared about my well being and did a lot of due diligence for me to get to the bottom of some of my issues. I've been a constant patient with at least 2 - 3 appointments a year. The last 6 years, i've noticed that I've seen her less and her nurse practitioner more and more. It got to the point where i had gone YEARS without seeing her. Fast forward to the past month. As i've done for the last 20 years, i made a request for my normal refills. This time, I'm denied because "I'm not a member" I'm down to a week's worth of meds and she denies me. I call her office and found out she had transitioned to concierge medicine and they claim to have given me notice, and they may have, in the form for automated voice mails which i remember getting, and pamphlets, none that explicitly says that i will lose immediate access if i don't sign up. What does signing up entail, 2K/year plus whatever services she charges insurance. So pretty much, I have to pay 2K/year to keep my doctor as well as paying for her services. Not to mention that i'm about out of meds that they refuse to do anything about without me signing up. No temporary refill so i can find a new doctor. Their advice, go to an urgent care center. This is after 20+ years. This left me scrambling to find a new doctor. I had an appointment with her 3 1/2 months before in December and she made no mention of this to me in person. No one at the office said anything except the normal "see you next time". Little did i know at the time, there would be no "next time" I was a little surprised to actually see her, and not her nurse practitioner and I was also a little surprised that I noticed interactions that were reminiscent of how she was before. I guess she was practicing for her new practice. My wife warned me of this. They treated her badly, and she left them for another doctor a year earlier. What happened here? Well, we made an emergency appointment because my wife had a spot in her eye and she was a little concerned. She came in 5 minutes late. They make her pay and then refuse to see her because she was late. We had to go to the ER instead, and discovered she had an ocular stroke. This could have been found out earlier had we been seen, but we were forced to find other services after paying because they claimed we were too late. Prior to this, service was lacking as they constantly said the same thing to her without addressing her concerns. She told them she was in pain, and they did nothing. It was her going to another doctor where she actually got a diagnosis of her pain in about 2 weeks, but in the years she's gone to Dr. Menon, no one bothered.

I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting room before being called back & she's very thorough in her exam (she doesn't try to rush you in & out like some medical cattle call). I was so pleasantly surprised by the fact that SHE actually returned my phone call, not a nurse or assistant - Dr. DiFresco herself (and she got back to me in 10 minutes!). No other physician has ever called me back themselves, let alone within minutes of calling. She's originally from the same neighborhood in Brooklyn that I'm from, so between her sweet, calming nature & her Brooklyn accent, I felt like I was right back home with my mom taking care of me again. I can't say enough positive things about Dr. DiFresco & I'm so grateful that I found her (for those interested, this is an all female practice).
