One star is generous. There simply isn't a no star option or else this place and its owner-operator would get it. My experience was absurd. I flew up from 3 states away and brought my lens in for cleaning and any repairs that might be discovered during the standard cleaning process. I was assured this could be done in 3-4 days based on the backlog. I brought my lens in on November 3, 2025 at 11:15am akdt. I told the guy I'd be back to pick it up on November 15 or 16. He said that would be no problem and more than enough time. I went to pick it up on November 17 at 4:20pm. I went in because my flight out is tomorrow at 1:50pm. I called at 12:56pm, but he didn't answer or return my call. His business listing shows open until 5pm, and indeed the neon open sign was lit up when I got there. I walked in, he acted like he didn't know who I was, I asked for the lens, had the pink receipt slip in hand, and reminded him what it was. With zero expression, remorse, authentic apology or anything of the sort, he simply said it wasn't done and that he didn't get to it. That happened despite his promise to have it done in 3-4 days, and to definitely have it done by the time I was going to pick it up, and certainly before the date and time I did come in to pick it up. His only words of substance were, "well, I didn't charge you." Yeah, and if he had, I wouldn't have paid. I did incur cost though: uber transport charges, time value of money loss, reasonable expectation of adequate performance, and loss of use and enjoyment during the time the lens was in his possession and not mine. To me, integrity means doing what you say you're going to do by when you say you're going to do it; it means being your word. This guy, and this business, demonstrated having no integrity. They did not do anything. There was no fulfillment, no promise kept, no performance of any kind, least of all any sort of reasonable action, not even a courtesy call to say they couldn't get to it in time, or to repromise a by when - a new date by when fulfillment could occur. There was no offer to fulfill or complete performance. There was zero caring, zero interest, and no concern for the impact that had on me, my business or my activity. This person, and this business, cannot be relied upon. As an award-winning professional photographer, a well connected professional photographer, and a member of the media and community in Alaska and several other states, I can't imagine any circumstance where I would knowingly or willingly choose to do business with this person or this business ever again. Moreover, I'm adding them to the commercial BANNED list for my media company. There will be no circumstance whatsoever, least of all any sort of emergent or time sensitive one, that will ever cause me or us to risk doing business with this unreliable operation ever again. read more

Took a lens in for repair and it took under a week to get it back. The cost was less than half of what the manufacturer quoted to just look at it. read more

He has fixed a few of my Nikon lenses his prices are very reasonable. Nikn wanted 550.00 to fix an issue that he was able to fix much cheaper. read more

AWESOME. My husband and I broke a filter and couldn't get it off the camera lens. We were leaving for Brooks Falls that afternoon, ran in, and were able to get the lens repaired so we could take pictures in Katmai National Park! read more

Very slow service. I dropped my camera off on Thursday mid day to have sensor cleaned. Was told I could pick it up on Monday. Which I thought that was an excessive amount of time to have it for a sensor cleaning. I stopped in on Monday midday to pick my camera up, but it wasn't done. Was told that he would have it done before the end of the day. Instead of driving from south side of town to midtown I decided to call. I was told that he was just getting started on my camera! Was told that he would definitely have it done by closing. When I said I would be there at closing I was told not to pick it up until tomorrow, Tuesday! Why does it take almost five days to clean a camera sensor? Why tell me that I can pick it up on Monday when he didn't even supposedly start working on it until Monday afternoon? I am not happy with the service. I would rather send my camera back to Nikon than take it back to this guy. He doesn't call when your equipment is ready to pick up. He doesn't work on it when he says he will. Why can Stewart's photo clean sensors in under an hour, but he takes 5 days to do the same job? read more
