Their pasties, their specialty, I'm not really a fan of. They're enormously overstuffed, but the crust is tasteless and the filling is mostly potato with less than 20% actual meat. However, filling was balanced in flavor. Guess I just prefer the pastries, because I also preferred their Apple Turnover to the pasties.

According to our waitress Pengenna are the only vendor in Tintagel who make their own pasties - according to her the other places just buy them frozen which perhaps explains why they are soooo dreadful. If you don't believe me try one next time you are at Kings Cross station in London - from a little stall you can buy a pasty much much better than our first two in Cornwall Anyway - our pasties were very good, probably 50% bigger than down the road and not much more than 1/2 the price!!!! No comparison!

The displays are really well done. The construction is amazing. I thought it was a dump at first, but when you think about what the average Joe was living in back then in this area, it's really quite a mansion. The use of space is really creative. The energy here, too, is really interesting. I found it really intriguing and could have stayed a lot longer. Yes, it's small, but that's how people lived back then. The fee is 4 GBP and it's cared for by the National Trust. The staff seems to really like the place and it shows. The gardens are well done.

The name of this attraction is a bit deceiving. This building was built as a Cornish longhouse…read morearound 1380 and used as a Post Office only in Victorian times. It only takes around 15 minutes to see the house and gardens since it is so small. The clearances under door jams and beams is only 6 feet so watch your head if you are tall. Admission is free if you are National Trust members.

The best bit for me was a guided tour of one of the mines, in some places you are almost 100 feet underground. The tour is, obviously, optional so don't panic if thats not your thing.
