I have been coming here for years and recently had a very bad experience with the time I needed them the most. It was a very unprofessional experience and didn't seem like the people working here wanted to help me out at all. I came for a consultation and was told blatantly "I don't like doing this surgery" and that "there's no promises it'll turn out the way you want" from Dr. Tsang. I do appreciate her being honest with me, but she was not able to give me any referrals of other doctors that could do this procedure for me. Never got back to me to tell me no and was super unprofessional saying "I hope you and your mom aren't upset with me". This situation was handled very poorly, and I would not recommend going into this establishment if you want precise care and information. read more

I had a horrible experience after coming here for years. I brought my daughter here for her female health care as well. We were referred to Dr. Tsang for a procedure. We scheduled the appointment and at the appointment (that we were told to schedule because this was her specialty) she didn't want or like to do it. Ok that's fair... but why did they collect a copay and see us to tell us no? Seems like a terrible waste of time and money. We requested a list of referrals and she decided the day she promised us a list... she didn't have one. If you are looking for thorough care and comfort from a physician, stay away from this office and especially Dr. Tsang. She is extremely incompetent and dishonest. The reviews are pretty accurate. They have a tendency to cancel and reschedule appointments last minute. Today, again I'm heading to my appointment when I get a call from Karen telling me to call her regarding my appointment in 10 minutes. No other information given, and anyone who has ever called their office knows what that is like "hi, I have 2 calls ahead hold please". Takes at least 15 minutes to get someone on the phone there. That alone is a big red flag that they are understaffed. The least Karen could've done was tell me not to drive there, as I showed up and was told they again had to cancel my appointment. Thanks for that Karen. As someone who owns and operates over 30 medical practices nationwide, I can tell you this place is an absolute disaster. I've been a patient at Camelback Women's Health for many years now. I recently experienced a health issue and my experience with them reminded me as to why I have been seeing them for so long. The receptionist when I called (I believe her name was Kara) was so incredibly helpful. She was very kind, kept me abreast of what she was confirming, and ultimately worked me in to be seen the same day for an issue I was experiencing. She even called me back to confirm that she double checked with the healthcare providers and they agreed that I needed to be seen, vs leaving a specimen only. For my appointment, I saw Jen Billingsley who noted that it had been a year since my annual appointment, so asked if I wanted to get everything done in one go vs coming back for a separate appointment. She gave me a diagnosis right away, performed my annual, refilled my prescription, answered questions for me clearly, and sent me on my way. The entire experience was smooth, professional and I was grateful to everyone involved. Riddle me this... we got an insurance plan that was supposed to cover 100% of pregnancy visits up until labor. We have received non stop bills for every visit. We call United Healthcare today and they say everything should be covered for your visits including ultrasounds in your plan they are just coding wrong so we aren't covering everything, if they change the codes we will cover it all. United and I try calling @camelbackwomenshealth and they say they aren't changing anything and I will just need to pay it. Who's in the wrong here?! Update: a "practice manager" called me today and was cutting me off every sentence before I could finish and was completely insensitive and rude. Don't say you're going to have someone call if you are not going to hear your patient at all. Completely unprofessional. It's taken me 5 years (3 healthy babies, 2 D&C procedures, and countless phone calls/appointments) to come up with the right words to describe Dr. Bernhard. She is incredible. The experience I've had over the last 5 years is unlike anything else you'll find today, and it's because of Dr. B. She takes the time to get to know you, asks about your life, your kids, how you're feeling (emotionally and physically). She values your opinion and also points you in the right direction. She truly cares about her patients and makes sure to do everything possible to make you feel comfortable, safe, and healthy. She has delivered all 3 of my boys - on holiday weekends, in the middle of the night, and when she is not "on call." Each delivery went perfectly. She goes above and beyond for her patients and I will be forever grateful for my 3 wonderful babies and the 27 months I felt secure and happy in my pregnancy journey. Other notes: the office is beautiful and in a great location, the receptionists are very sweet and will work with you to find an appointment that works with your schedule (however, wait times are veryyyyy long), and all the nurse practitioners are so nice (and will also rave about Dr. B)! read more

This office was recommended to me, since moving back to Phoenix. I have been seen by Dr. Olivia Blackstone once, canceled on by the office 3 consecutive times which were follow up appointments since starting hormone treatment, had messages ignored about important healthcare questions in the patient portal and been treated with such disregard I had to look for another doctor. The receptionist was the only one who tried to help and when she referred me to the office manager to try and "make the situation right" - the office manager never called back. I made an appointment for a female gynecologist 3 months ago. Today i get a call 1 1/2 hours before my appointment letting me know it's been cancelled and i will need to reschedule for November. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I asked the receptionist to please schedule me the next available Friday and made it clear i could only make it to a Friday appointment. She tells me the new date and after we hang up i look at my calendar and she rescheduled it for a Tuesday! I had to call back and cancel it. This place does not care about their patients. I have been a patient of Dr. Bernhard's since 2018, when she was with another practice. She saw me through a high-risk pregnancy and I delivered a healthy baby, something I wasn't sure was possible before it actually happened. She has always been wonderful. After she transferred to this practice, I saw her once in 2023. That visit went just as well as all of my previous ones had. For reference here, I saw her at 3:40 in the afternoon on a Thursday - a great time for my schedule. I recently (2025) got an email that I was due for a follow-up well woman exam. I tried to schedule on their website, which they claim can be done, but you're actually REQUESTING an appointment, not booking it. So, I called the practice so that I could actually book an appointment at a time that worked for me. To start with, I literally waited on hold for 37 MINUTES before someone finally answered the call. (This was during regular business hours.) Then I was told that I couldn't have an afternoon appointment because they are reserved for pregnant patients. Well, I work in healthcare also, and mornings are my busiest time. It's a lot easier for me to leave work early than to arrive late. Also, my office is 40 miles from this practice, so even if I had the 10:40 appointment I was offered, I probably wouldn't get to work until noon (at the earliest). I was then offered an appointment with another provider. Well, no. This is my doctor, she has been my doctor for years, and she's the person I want to see - and if I can't see her, I'm definitely not coming to your God-awful practice to see someone else. Eventually, I was given an afternoon appointment with the caveat that "it could be canceled." I have always loved Dr. Bernhard, and the last practice she was with was really great. I have been seeing dr Bernhardt for 7 years now. Finally delivered my second baby and actually she couldn't make it to my delivery even while inducing me she promised to be there. She told me she forgot she had a neighbor anniversary. Then I found out she was not planning to be at my delivery at all. Fast forward a few weeks post birth I got a crazy infection and had some stitches were hurting( poorly done by another dr at this practice)that I couldn't even sit or walk, just scream in pain. Barely got in to be seen, they wanted me instead to just waited it out. Haven't been able to schedule my 1 year postpartum exam and finally got scheduled when my baby is 17 months! Guess what!? They canceled on me because there is more important something to do that day. So now I'm looking into January 2025 when my baby will be 20 months to be seen postpartum... it's such a shame. I referred to her insane amount of people, was praising her everywhere in social media and now I need to find another dr. This establishment is a joke since they merged practices. She used to spend a good time talking to you and making sure it's ok. Since they merged she is rushed and detached. Once you are no longer pregnant no one cares for you at this practice. read more

I have waited a year to write this as I was so traumatized by what happened. January last year I went in bc I was having pain in my ovary area. The scan showed multiple cysts, one looking like it may be solid. They immediately told me it may be cancer and they needed to remove my ovary and cysts the following week. I was a wreck. I cried and cried. I didn't know what to do. I decided to get another opinion and was able to get in with another doctor the following week. Mind you they made me believe I may have cancer. The next doctor seemed unconcerned and told me to get a scan three months later. I then got a third opinion bc the opinions were so different, so a few weeks later I got in with a third doctor who also said it's fine let's do a scan in three months. Well, fast forward three months I only have one cyst left, and the one that appeared solid is gone. No one thinks it's cancer, and other than Camelbacks woman's health, no one ever thought it was cancer. I am monitoring it now to see if it will go away on its own. It has been a year and still no issue. If I ever do have to remove it they will only remove the cyst and leave the ovary. I honestly think this was a money grab and they were preying on my fears. The doctor I met with was very nice, but their system is the more surgeries they do, the more money they make. They told me at the time losing an ovary at 40 was no big deal, but the other docs I have spoken with informed me some people go into early menopause with one ovary and your ovaries keep your bone strength after menopause by producing testosterone so as long as you are able you want to keep them. There are much better practices out there and I would find a better one if you need anyting other than a general pap. read more

I went back to CWH a year after my last review and changed from 1 star to 4 stars. 4 stars for the facility as they have some not so good folks working there in my opinion. This time I saw a different provider. Ms Audrey deserves 5 stats as she is a great WHNP. Extremely knowledgeable and attentive and paid attention to my health history and was SO personable. She provided great care, I didn't feel like just another patient in the facility she treated me like an actual human being and addressed all my needs and concerns and ordered all necessary tests, gave great médical advice and feedback and made appropriate recommendations. I saw Dr Nelson for a surgical consult to discuss a hysterectomy. He was kind enough, but extremely negligent in his care. He dismissed my concerns out of hand, did not ask any questions as to why I was seeking such a dramatic treatment option, and laughed at the idea that my symptoms are severe enough that I would choose menopause instead, all without any discussion of what my symptoms actually are. He prescribed me a medication that is contraindicated for my medical history due to risk of blood clots, hyper-ovulation, birth defects, and miscarriage (all of which I found in a simple google search). When I asked him about possible interactions with my other prescriptions and conditions, he told me he HAD NOT READ MY MEDICAL HISTORY. This was after I had arrived half an hour early, per the office's request, to complete this history, and waited an hour from my appointment time to speak with him. In those 90 minutes he didn't take the time to even look at my risks and diagnoses, but felt confident enough to prescribe a medication with significant side effects. Conveniently, my visit notes do not have any documentation of this discussion, or any discussion for that matter. Which is likely a violation of medical practice ethics and licensure requirements. Frankly this irresponsibility borders on malpractice. I will be filing a complaint with his licensing board as well. read more

7 weeks postpartum with a set of boy/girl twins. This was my first pregnancy and to say I had no clue what to expect is an understatement, let alone tackling a twin pregnancy. I was recommended camelback women's health and Dr. Schwartz by a friend and I'm so glad that they did. The entire team took amazing care of me. Dr. Schwartz is extremely knowledgeable and pays attention to the small details to ensure you and your baby (babies) are healthy and on the correct track. She is honest and upfront about expectations you can have from her and I greatly appreciated that. I ended up having a c section due to one baby being breech but Dr. Schwartz made me feel comfortable through out the entire process and my incision looks fantastic. She really took her time go through and repairing each layer. Not sure what the future holds but if it's more babies then I will definitely be returning to see Dr. Schwartz. All the nurses, nurse practitioners and office staff have been extremely helpful and welcoming. I'd like to give a big shout out to Becky the ultrasound tech. Becky is so sweet and makes you feel incredibly comfortable. She is patient and knowledgeable and takes an interest in your pregnancy. All in all I cannot say enough great things for the doctors and staff at camelback women's health! read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I scheduled a routine pap to get an IUD. The receptionist told me 9,000 times to get there at 3:30 NOT 4:00 pm to ensure I can be SEEN at 4:00 pm. I get there at exactly that time. FOUR people who hadn't gotten there before me were called back and at this point I have been waiting an hour (4:30). They finally call me back an hour and twenty minutes after I arrive. I get into the room only for the assistant to tell me that two other people still have to go before me, so i would be waiting for awhile. I have already been waiting AN HOUR AND TWENTY minutes, so I have to wait TWO hours to get a pap and then have to go through the process myself? I wouldn't have even wasted my time if I knew they couldn't handle getting a clients appointment handled in a REASONABLE manner. The staff kept apologizing, but what does that do for me? Clients who got there after me were they for a total of an hour? Not sure if this is just how they treat new patients, but this is quiet possibly the worst waiting experience ever. I know a lot of friends that have used them during their pregnancies and also use them for their regular check ups. Yesterday I went in to get my blood drawn not only do they draw your blood in the office but I had the opportunity to have one of the best employees I believe they have her name was Kaytee and she drew my blood so fast and didn't poke me multiple times. She listened to my concerns and really cared about my comfort. Her personality shined through and I will be requesting her any time I need blood work done now. This place was a true let down. Me and my wife are going through our first pregnancy and we read some good reviews about this place and were very hopeful about it. However, upon the first visit, our hopes were shot down - to say the least. They told us they couldn't do her blood work due to it being too late (430PM) but that was when they scheduled us for??? So we gave them the benefit of the doubt and made another appointment for blood work. They scheduled it for 4PM to ENSURE that we got the blood work done. We show up to the appt 30 mins early, have to wait in the lobby for 1 hour then we get back to the room and they tell us that it's too late to do blood work... unbelievable. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy PLEASE STAY AWAY. The only reason I'm giving them 1 star is because there is nice looking scenery out of the window of the room we had to wait in for 30 minutes before being seen. read more

Everything about my experience here made me feel more like a number rather than a person. Everyone at the front desk and the doctors were nice but the doctor (Dr. Steinkamp) spoke so fast and rushed the appointment I could barely keep up with what she was saying and I didn't feel heard or listened to. I came in for extremely painful and unbearable periods and pelvic pain and she basically just said I need to go on birth control, even though I told her birth control is a last resort for me because of hormone issues this was her first and pretty much only solution for me. I waited a month for this appointment in hopes of getting some answers to why I go through what I do every month. She concluded I that I'm just unlucky with having painful periods I had to ask about endometriosis and cysts rather than her suggesting these as possibilities and she dismissed my endometriosis concerns because i'm not in pain 24-7 which seems odd and she did order a pelvic ultrasound to check for cysts but only because I asked. So I went to pick up the script for birth control she recommended even though I wasn't 100% sure I was going to take it because of my hormone issues and the script was never even sent in. Also when they were scheduling me for my pelvic ultrasound and pap smear for my next visit I asked if I could do them the same day because I live far (if the answer was no it would've been fine with me I just figured I would ask) she said no problem and scheduled me for my ultrasound first and then pap second on the same day. After calling a different obgyn I found out that you can't do these appointments the same day because the lube from the ultrasound can affect your pap smear causing you to possibly have to come in for another one because you could get inconclusive results. I didn't feel good about going back there after all of this so I canceled my appointment for the pap and ultrasound and made it somewhere else. Im giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 because everyone was very nice but if you want to feel heard, not rushed, and have someone truly care about helping you I would recommend going somewhere else. read more

I had a miscarriage and ERIN O'SULLIVAN, MD did my D and C. I have never been so humiliated and uncomfortable in my life. What should have just been a hard day turned into a nightmare due to her insensitive comments and shaming. Everyone else at the Banner Surgery center was so kind and comforting and I was in fine spirits, within 5min of ERIN O'SULLIVAN, MD arriving and speaking with her I was having an anxiety attack and unable to stop crying as they wheeled my bed back for surgery. When Banner called me for a follow up to see how I was doing I told them they had all been lovely other than my interaction with ERIN O'SULLIVAN, MD and in so many words she let me know that this is common and that I should complete a survey and make sure someone is aware of what happened. I am now at my follow up with Steven Nelson, MD and was going to just speak to him about my experience but my appointment with him was at 10am and it's now 11:28am and I still haven't been seen so it gave me plenty of time to write this review. I have been going to this practice for a little over a year and I cannot say enough nice things about the staff and care I have received. I absolutely love Dr. Schwartz. She took care of me during my first pregnancy and helped bring my daughter into this world as a beautiful and perfect full term baby. My pregnancy was complicated and she made sure every precaution was taken. She always fit me in for appts and her MA (Kristin) was great and always responded to me within hours (during business hours). She practices evidence based medicine and is very knowledgeable. Additionally every other provider I saw was also wonderful- Dr Nelson, NP Meghan, NP jodi, NP Reema. The medical staff was always friendly and made me feel taken care of. I don't know where to start, Dr Nelson is the best. As a female it is a little weird or sometimes uncomfortable to be seen by a male but Dr Nelson never made me feel uncomfortable. He answered all my questions and provided the best information or advice. I had a pretty fast delivery and couldn't have been more happy. The office staff are pretty nice but if you owe money they kind of call too much but again it's there job so I understand. I also had passed out here during an appointment, pretty embarrassing but the staff and nurses did everything right and got a heart beat monitor on my baby right away to also make sure he was okay. I am more disappointed every time I come here , I am now looking to see what my other options are ... first experience was after an early miscarriage , had endless trouble getting through the phone lines , one bw was good I stopped going . After I got preg again I went back because I loved the np I saw , had a great experience with her but then when things went downhill for my preg they had the NP ASSISTANT CALL ME TO TELL ME I WAS HAVING ANOTHER MISSCARRIAGE ! She was borderline heartless about it while I'm sobbing on the phone and did not sound like she cared one bit . I demanded to talk to the np who was kind and calmed me down and said she would file the complaint , once all clear . I stopped going again . Fast forward and I'm 8 weeks with history of 2 miscarriages and they tell me they can see me for my first visit in a month .... I asked the assistant if they really don't need bw or anything before that since prev I was on progesterone due to low numbers . I go in today finally at week twelve and the np tells me I should have bipassed reception and used the portal to schedule because I should have come sooner ..... like what ?! Then my ultrasound felt rushed and cold by the dr I've never met and she cut my husband off when he was asking about a theory . He had to ask her to wait so he could get a video so he didn't miss it . Luckily everything looked good , then to top it all off I go to schedule and the receptionist was INSANELY RUDE . No eye contact , ignored our questions , no smile just cold scheduling like I had ruined her day by coming to the window . I'm looking elsewhere and really hope I find another place that can help me through my pregnancy because I feel like just a number to them and they could not care less about me having a positive experience . I tried so hard to give them so many chances but it seems that MANY of the staff there are jaded and hate their job .
