Finally got my eyes checked last week with Dr. Allyson Tang! The experience at this clinic is…read moreincredible - Dr. Tang is professional, very thorough with the eye examination, great at explaining, truly cares about her patients and wants the best for them. She is very patient and has a cheerful personality which puts a BIG smile on my face during my visit :) I felt very at ease in her hands. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable - overall, a very pleasant experience, thank you :) During the comprehensive eye examination, I got my pupils dilated. Be sure to bring a pair of sunglasses with you if you're driving - you will be sensitive to lights! Or you can purchase a fashionable pair in their dispensary. The clinic carries a great selection of brand name eyewear and sunglasses! We also did something called Optomap wide-field retinal scan, which carefully and thoroughly checks the inside of the eye for any hidden eye diseases, monitors suspicious areas and changes from year to year, and confirms that everything is healthy! During the visit, I also learned that Dr. Tang specializes in contact lens wear, LASIK consultation, and Ortho-K (AOK) overnight corrective contact lens for myopia control in children. You can also make an appointment online anytime using their real-time schedule - very convenient and easy to use. Thank you Dr. Tang for making sure my eyes are healthy and for giving me advise on how to maintain/improve my current eye health and vision with your expertise. Highly recommend Dr. Allyson Tang as your family optometrist!

Full disclosure, I was not a paying customer during my visit to Dr. Allyson Tangs location,…read morehowever, I did go in with some questions regarding a recently purchased pair of glasses from another store and my experience was so exceptional I can safely say that when it comes time to change over to my next pair of glasses I'm coming back here. I went to a trendy DT Toronto spot for my glasses and while the styles were great and the service was thorough, there was a disconnect with me having to go somewhere else to get my eyes tested before choosing my frames and lenses - a Wal-mart no less. I walked in and wanted to ask about the headaches I'd been having since getting my new glasses and Dr. Allyson took my glasses and ran them under a special machine to examine exactly what my prescription was and what they were comprised of. Thankfully everything checked out and Dr. A explained that because this was a slightly stronger prescription than I was used to that headaches were normal and to be expected. While I was happy with the individual service I received from both the Wal-mart optometrist and the store I purchased my glasses at, I think in future I would prefer to visit Dr. Allyson so I know that every part of my experience is in-house at one location. Check her out!

When I got to suite 503, the sign said they are closed and directed me to the main suite 400. The sign outside suite 400 said unit 503 is closed. Seriously? Thanks for letting me know, but it's useless since we all see the sign in the elevator which misdirects us before we make our way to suite 400. The receptionists were too busy discussing their personal lives and where to go for coffee to acknowledge me for a long time. Once I was directed to the waiting room, I was called in for a test and was out very quickly. The second visit required a very long wait! Every patient who came in after I did was called in before me. Some people came in 40 minutes after me and did not have to wait at all. Soon after questioning this, my turn came. Dr Gary Yau was knowledgeable and professional. My torn retina was repaired in less than 10 minutes. My third and final visit for a 2-minute follow-up with Dr Yau took about an hour including wait time. I knew he was only going to examine my right eye so I asked if the assistant could skip the pupil dilating drop in my left eye. She reluctantly agreed. As expected my left eye wasn't looked at by the eye surgeon. I wish I had made that request on my second appointment because it took hours for the blurriness to go away in the eye the doctor never looked at. Be prepared for several phone calls confirming your appointment. Even when I responded to the automated call, I received one or two more calls for each appointment. The cost to park is $7 whether you're there for 30 minutes or several hours. The email sent from North Toronto Eye Care says the maximum parking charge is $5. I suppose it hasn't been updated in a while. Traffic along Finch Ave is terrible because of construction on the Finch LRT. I know this isn't the eye clinic's fault but leave plenty of time to navigate around Finch.

Was referred by Dr Hess to the dry eye clinic. What a joke! They are all about money and nothing else. Make sure if you go to this clinic you get your credit card ready before you register. They will try to sell you and provide you with all kinds of different treatments and products with a hefty price. They run their office like a factory assembly. Be prepared to wait for hours. Lucky if you find a seat. Honestly, I never been treated like this in all my life. I heard a lot of patients complaining especially seniors. After all this hassle, my eye problem was never resolved.

She also gave me some advice on how teary my eyes get on the regular and gave me a sample of eye drops to help with that. It's also very convenient that once you get your prescription, you can pick out some frames and get glasses made right next door at Economy Optical. It's a nice family business and you can tell they care about the work they do. I picked up a pair of glasses for $168, and they were also very kind to do some additional adjustments for me. Will definitely be coming back when I need eye care!

Unprofessional place--avoid at all costs!!!…read more I had an eye exam here, and they made a glaring error: my right eye axis was off by 20 degrees. Small differences can happen, but 20 degrees is unacceptable for a place that claims to be professional. Even then, I wasn't angry. The real nightmare started when I checked my glasses. I bought a handcrafted frame from Japan for more than $800 after tax--fragile, unique, and something I truly cherish. On the day they tried to "fix" their axis mistake, instead of handling it properly, they decided to bend my frame without my consent. Now it's distorted, misshapen, and looks awful. They brushed it off as a "small adjustment." How ridiculous! Who bends a fragile Japanese frame to fix an optical prescription error?! I'm devastated and deeply disappointed by the way they treat their customers. And yes--it was Dr. Rebecca, the same name that appears in many other one-star reviews. Also, after few rounds of communication, the clinic refused to admit their mistake, still saying their intention was good, and the issue was small. The most irresponsible clinic I've ever encountered. A complete joke.
