I would definitely recommend her if you are looking for a new stylist. The color also turned out really natural looking.

Here was my mistake, I took her to a home stylist (that I had been to a few times before for layers added to my hair), I went in assuming she knew what she was doing....don't ever assume! After telling her what she was wanting and showing her an inspo pic, she ended up with an extremely uneven cut and awful yellow chunky highlights on the top few layers of hair. $200 later and my daughter was extremely unhappy. Not only did her color look ridiculous but she was left with uneven hair and length taken off in just parts. She specifically said she did not want length taken off except for the reasonable amount when trimming ends. She was also given layers and did not ask for those either. I was there to listen and witness what my daughter asked for. I am so thankful to have come across Kayla, she turned a mess into something my daughter is really happy with. Although she's missing some length and now has layers, Kayla turned that chop shop mess into something my daughter was happy with. Let's talk about color...I genuinely don't know how the stylist thought what she did was remotely close to the inspo pic. Not to mention she applied lightener so unevenly, which you can see in the photos. Kayla was able to correct the mess and created soft dimension throughout her hair, not just the top. I reached out to Kayla on messenger around 9am the morning after her hair was messed up. She responded immediately and asked if we were able to come in at 11:30 that day. By the way, Kayla was off that day but she didn't hesitate to offer to come in and correct this mess for my daughter. Kayla's knowledge for color was very impressive and she explains things to you up front. Our experience with Kayla in a nutshell...she was a hair savior with wonderful friendly communication with above and beyond service. She mentioned she trains all her stylists, so who ever you end up booking with I'm thinking you're in very good hands. It was a pretty extensive day at the salon, but I must say it didn't feel like we spent as much time there as we did. It was a pleasant experience and we walked out with my daughter having a huge smile on her face vs the tears she had the day before. Chloe styled her hair once Kayla was done doing her magic. That girl can create a beautiful soft curl! Unfortunately I wasted $200 to have my kids hair royally screwed up. But the positive outcome of all this was we found our hair girl and we all know how big of a deal that is! Also to add, Kayla reached out to me later that evening to check in and see if my daughter was still happy. I have also reached out to Kayla a couple times with some questions regarding what products to use. She has responded right away and has no problem answering any questions you may have. Honestly I feel like I'm texting with a friend, that's how friendly and comfortable she is. We appreciate her so much and won't hesitate to suggest Kayla and her salon! The pictures I've included are of the inspo pic that was shown to previous stylist, then what she did. The last pictures are of Kayla's correction.

The front desk girl was very welcoming and offered me water right away. The salon is very clean, and the decor has a great vibe. Coming from another salon (the one with an ampersand in the name), I definitely felt more like a valued client here. Many little details were considered here, like the hairdryers attached to the ceiling and the washing bowls move automatically (so you don't have to keep readjusting to line up your neck correctly). I will definitely be back, and in the meantime I will bring my daughter. I would definitely recommend this salon if you're looking for a salon that is modern but also doesn't act like they're too bougie for the average person.

I had a much needed haircut a few weeks ago, when salons were allowed to open again during the pandemic. I actually waited two weeks before reaching out to her because I knew here calendar would fill fast. My hair was shaggy and dry and way too long for my taste and I felt gross. I got in to see Jody within a week and was a bit nervous about the virus. There was no need however, because Jody wore a full on face shield the entire time. I didn't wear a mask because she was fully covered. I felt very good about the level of care she went to for her clients. I left with a pile of hair gone and it felt so, so good. Then she took another client during my appointment. Everyone is right about the attitude and lack of friendliness. As cold and unwelcoming as possible. She wouldn't cut my hair despite the fact I had an appointment and said it looked fine as it was. Um, no. It was uneven, straggly and my bangs were way too long. She said she hates bangs -- what kind of hairdresser won't work with bangs when the client obviously looks better with them? She said that because I was considering extensions that it would be best to wait until I got them to cut my hair but I didn't say I 100% was get extensions, I wanted more information from the consult but absolutely wanted and needed a haircut regardless. And worse yet, she only puts them in and makes clients go to the store to buy them and remove them on their own. For $250 that's a lot of diy. And she'll only put in tape extensions so if you're interested in other types go elsewhere. I did a lot of research and spoke to people who had them and decided against it. Part of their hair fell out when the tape extensions were removed -- both professionally and at home using the recommendation product. The salon is tiny and no frills. She might give good haircuts but I wouldn't know. The next day I had my haircut properly and it looks a million times better with a proper trim.
