She spent a lot of time during the consultation and really listened to what I wanted. I'd had very long hair for over 10 years, and she suggested going to a medium length. It was a big change, but I felt like I could trust her, and I'm so happy I did. She also recommended partial highlights instead of a full balayage, and I'm so glad she did. It gave me the look I wanted, took less time, and turned out beautiful. (Before & after photos attached!) The salon itself is modern, upscale, and in a great spot at Kierland Commons. Overall, such a great experience, and already booked my next appointment

DO NOT GO HERE. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID…read more I don't normally leave reviews but I felt like I had to for this one. I came in to get highlights in my hair, expecting one of the professionals to help me out. After I get there, some random dude comes out who barely speaks English. Barely asks me questions about what I want, and barely talks about what he is going to do starts to do the cap thing on my head. He was extremely rough using the tool, stabbing my head very hard. After he finishes he finishes dying my hair, charges me $300 then when I ask how to maintain it he responds "I trust you will make the right decisions"... like no I know nothing about this, this was my first time. Then a couple hours later, when it drys, I look at it and it looks TERRIBLE. The sides of my head looked like I had cheetah print and the top was VERY orange. After I realize. I go back in a couple days later. After having to take time off of work because of how bad it looked and how anxious it made me. They agreed that it looked terrible and they told me that they would fix it free of charge.... They schedule me for the next day and I come in, then as they start they say "btw we are going to charge you $150 for this". They said this AFTER they started and told me they'd fix it for free. Then I asked why it wasn't free anymore and they ignored the question and walked away. When I went to the register they gave me a product to buy and told me I had to pay and when I asked why it wasn't free anymore again, they said because a different person fixed it. Which made no sense because they scheduled me with her and said it would be free to fix. Again, normally I don't leave reviews. Look at my profile for proof. This was such an incredibly terrible experience, save your money and your mental health and go somewhere else.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and attentive staff. The salon has such a boujee, luxurious vibe without feeling intimidating or unwelcoming. She truly listens to what you and is passionate about making sure you leave loving your look. If you're looking for someone who actually cares about your hair and delivers great results. On arrival, my hairstylist was running late, which was fine because I knew I wanted to be here because of the recommendation. She greeted me happily. The front hostess was also very friendly. Everything fell apart once I was in the chair. It began by her picking at my hair and basically telling me it looked terrible. On several occasions the words "so it at least looks pretty" came up. As if my hair looks terrible. She then brought over her manager because they were unsure of what to do with my hair and were not "comfortable" bleaching my hair in fear of "breakage". They both picked at my hair as if it was diseased. And I will assure you, it is not. I take pride in myself and hair. They then took pictures of my "terrible" hair and then sent them to the owner asking her "opinion". They then came back and told me about something I would have to sign in case they had to CUT MY HAIR OFF after. My hair is no where near that. Sure it has had some heat on it, and had some color, but no where near that. At my age I am well aware of what my hair can take. The manager kept picking up my hair and dropping it and telling the hairstylist "I wouldn't do it if I were you," with this look of disgust. I have never been more humiliated at a salon. I said then what can you do for me. They told me there was nothing they could do for me. On their social media and individual pages they all claim what experts they are. They share pictures of women with perfect hair the before and after. But what about women who come in wanting a change and needing a change that don't have a "blank canvas" as the hairstylist mentioned she wanted? After the disgusting looks at my hair and sitting there for 45 min I finally told them thank you for their time and walked out. If you are looking for a salon to help you with your hair, THIS IS NOT IT. They are not confident in skill and make you sign a waiver. Not to mention, I was ready to shell out the 325.00 they quoted me to even do my hair and STILL they were going to have me sign a waiver. I have NEVER in all my years been told it is impossible to do my hair, and for a salon that charges so much, and has such a great reputation I was beyond disappointed. Do not come here if you have used heat on your hair, have any fly aways that may look like "damage". Unless you want to be made to feel like I do. Trash.

Lisa, Lisa, Lisa!…read more Y'all, if you're looking for an amazing stylist, look no further. I'm someone who has done a lot to my hair over the years. I previously owned a modeling agency, and we were constantly changing hair styles and working with some of the best stylists in the world. After moving to the Sedona area, I had three disappointing experiences in a row--honestly, some of the worst hair I've ever had. I finally decided to make the trip to Scottsdale, where I knew I could find someone who truly cared about their craft. After doing some research, I chose this salon and booked with Lisa. In just one appointment, she completely understood what I wanted and delivered it flawlessly. With over 20 years of experience, she made what seemed impossible look effortless. She not only got me back to where I wanted to be--she exceeded my expectations. What I appreciated most was that she listened. Really listened. Then she combined that understanding with incredible skill and precision. On top of that, she's an absolute delight to spend time with. If you've been struggling to find a stylist you trust, I know how stressful that can be. Great hair makes such a difference, and we all deserve exceptional service and results. Run, don't walk, and book with Lisa. You'll be so glad you did! xoxo

Think twice before you go to this place! I honestly have…read morenever had an experience like this with a haircut, and I'm still incredibly frustrated and upset about it. I showed exactly what I wanted simple face framing and long layers but my hair was cut so unevenly that the layers didn't blend at all. There were random short pieces, completely different lengths, and the back was uneven and had no shape. It genuinely looked like a 5 year old had cut my hair, not a certified professional. Almost everyone who has seen my hair since has asked me the same thing: how could this possibly happen at a professional salon? Yes, I received a full refund, and I appreciate that. But I then had to go somewhere else to try to fix the damage. The second stylist had to take off even more hair, so I lost both the length AND the density of my hair just to make it look somewhat normal again. And even now, there is only so much that can be fixed. I have to wait for it to grow out. What frustrated me even more was how the situation was handled afterward. I asked the manager for their number because I genuinely wanted someone to explain to me HOW this happened. She never responded. I got my money back, but I felt absolutely no real empathy or understanding of what I was dealing with just scripted comments like I would be sad like you too and "Everybody loves this hairstylist. That completely misses the point. This is MY hair. I can't undo what was done. Giving me my money back doesn't give me back the length and density I lost or change how awful I feel every time I look at my hair. I wasn't looking for drama or anything extra from them. I just wanted someone to actually acknowledge how badly this went, take it seriously, and explain how something like this could happen with a professional stylist. I never got that.

I live like five minutes down the street, so it's very convenient for me, but not convenient when I have to go back a second time every single time lately in order for the stylist to get the look right. I work in the medical field, so obviously, I know nothing about hair! They ended up charging me $510 the past four weeks to get my 14 year old daughter's hair done correctly when they should've charged me 250 or $300 to get it right the first time! She sat in that chair for three something hours and then had to come back and sit in the chair for another three something hours, which was a total and complete pain in the ass for both her and I! I also had a horrible experience with that place recently... My stylist is the sweetest person ever, but she doesn't have a clue what she's doing! My hair looks like fucking shit, I had to bust my way through two managers only to be told to leave because "I was never going to be happy". . My hair looks like shit right now, so now I need to go somewhere else and pay another $3-$500 to get it fixed. I will never be taking my business to Roway Hair ever again!
