I went to look at a 2025 Mazda CX-50 with about 25k miles listed around $25,999. The CARFAX was listed as clean, but the vehicle itself had very obvious visible collision damage. Several panels and a door were misaligned, loose, and looked like the vehicle had been sideswiped. When I pointed this out, I was repeatedly told it was "dust," "dirt," or "wax" despite the damage being clearly visible. It took a lot of back-and-forth just to get anyone to acknowledge the condition of the car. Things got even worse once financing was discussed. I offered roughly a 20% down payment and was trading in a vehicle with positive equity. I also have essentially no other debt, a stable career history, and strong credit. Despite that, the terms presented to me were about $12,000-$13,000 down with roughly 11% APR on a $25k vehicle. I was told several banks had "flat out declined" me, including Bank of America. The salesperson repeated that wording multiple times: "flat out declined." That immediately raised red flags for me because I've had a long-standing relationship with Bank of America for years and have multiple accounts with them. Then the story suddenly changed. I was told that if I purchased their extended warranty, the deal would magically improve to something closer to about $2,000 down and around 6% APR. In other words, if I bought their warranty product, my rate would drop dramatically and the down payment requirement would suddenly disappear. When I asked them to put those financing terms in writing, I received a lot of pushback and they were very reluctant to provide anything documenting the offer. At one point, after hours of going back and forth, I was even told that if I had the money available I should just pay for the vehicle in full right then and there. I spent over eight hours at the dealership dealing with delays, pushback, and waiting while trying to get clear answers. After leaving the dealership, I contacted Bank of America directly and was told something completely different. They informed me that I was not declined and indicated they could finance the vehicle and provide a lending ledger if necessary. That directly contradicts what EchoPark told me in the showroom. I am still waiting for confirmation of which lenders my credit was submitted to and the results of those applications. Despite multiple calls, texts, and emails, the dealership has been very slow to provide that information. Given the resistance to putting financing terms in writing and the difficulty obtaining my credit application results, it raises serious concerns that the bank's actual approval rate (often called the "buy rate") may have been marked up by the dealership for additional profit. Between the visible damage being dismissed, the financing terms changing dramatically depending on whether I purchased a warranty, being told banks "flat out declined" me when the bank says otherwise, and the resistance to providing documentation, the entire situation felt extremely questionable. I ultimately walked away from the deal, and based on my experience I would strongly encourage anyone shopping here to request all financing terms and lender responses in writing and verify them directly when possible.

We told her we drove all the way out (about an hour) to see that particular vehicle that Jerry's AI self texted is ready to test drive when we arrived. So we asked about another Durango that was literally parked in the front row as you pull into the dealership. She preceded to say "where?" and I even pointed telling her it's the only silver Durango out front as you walk out the front entrance doors. She said she understands but that there are a couple of them. There wasn't. Only one out front. She gave us the pricing finally on it and it wasn't in our budget. Meanwhile, she leaves to go do something and so I just wanted to find out how long the other couple had been waiting. The female mentioned a tad over an hour. I told her yeah, we were told the keys can't be located for the vehicle we were coming to see and she said they were told the same and it was a totally different car. So I ask the girl if there was a manager on site and she said yes. I asked if she could let them know we wanted to speak to them. So then she comes back with the "manager". He asks what he can help us with. I lay out all what had happened and what we were there for. So he says give him a little bit and that he's going to try and look for our vehicle. He comes back and says he tried pulling it up in the system and it wasn't found. So who the h, e, double hockey sticks is lying here!? Her, the manager, both? Anyhow I told him put yourself in our shoes. I asked him how would you like going to look at a specific vehicle you had text communication about that was an hour away with your girlfriend, wife or even by yourself? He said "or my husband". I said "ok, your husband or whomever". He said "I'm kidding". I really didn't care regardless if he was with a man. My point was over looked! I said what I said for the principle of the situation with hopes of him being relatable and making the situation not only heard but taking it in to where they make changes so it's not happening to others moving forward. Screw Clay Cooley! If I could show "zero" stars on my review, I would. Don't be suckered into giving your hard earned financials to this joke of a dealership! Also, "Am I at a club?" The playlist was unprofessional. I can get with Hip Hop music because I'm a fan of it, no doubt but to have the version of Rhiannas, Bitch better have my money playing and just like that, WOW! I just kept hearing bitch, then a guy came on that version going deeper into the obscene language and lyrics and mind you, we were also with our 11 year old son. Awful. Play than in your car or listen to it on your own time. This dealership was crazy, mad, awful. Yes. I wrote this essay intentionally. I messaged the dealer last Friday through Cars.com to ask about availability. I got a reply on Monday - "It's available." I then got another email from the manager mentioning special pricing just for me on that vehicle and added incentives. I replied - great, so you have any special COVID protocols, etc. Finally today - Wednesday- I got a reply saying no protocols, but let me check if the car is available. Three hours later I get another email saying it is gone, but am I interested in anything else. I had read other reviews saying that this dealer had used the same tricks before - at least this time they told me ahead of time before I went out there. Funny, though, that Honda is still on Cars.com. The fact that they told me ahead of time is keeping their review afloat at two stars. Like they care. But as far as communication and reliability, not impressed.
