He treated me with respect and actually seemed interested in solving the problem instead of making customers feel like a burden. The DMV needs more employees like him. Unfortunately, two of the women at the front counter acted like helping customers was personally offensive to them. I was snapped at just for approaching the counter and immediately met with hostility for no reason. If you hate dealing with the public that much, customer service probably isn't the right job. Being stressed is one thing; being rude and dismissive to people asking for help is another. Their behavior was honestly horrifying from my point of view, as someone who has also worked customer service her entire adult life. In his appraisal report to my broker, he wrote that my home was located "three miles east of downtown (SD)", despite the fact that my home is one mile from the ocean. The comps that he used were not remotely comparable to my home. I drove to the comps myself to see them with my own eyes and examined the available literature on zillow.com and trulia.com. When my broker rebutted his appraisal, per my broker, he claimed that his comps were "superior" to my home and that "the comps are the comps". While in my home, he commented that he has been trying to convince his mother, who lives in Pismo Beach, to move to Imperial Beach. He commented that his mother could buy a "nice" condo on IB for 400K, despite current listings that show that you can't buy a "nice" closet on IB for 400K. Please do not waste your time with John Droege or his services. He will not take the time needed to give you an accurate and fair appraisal. BTW: I'm a licensed Ph.D., a California State Supervisor, and a professor at a local University. You can choose to believe me-- or take your chances with John Droege.

Hopefully, they will come back soon. Yes, there are a lot of people experiencing homelessness who occupy most of the tables in this library. Luckily, the kids area is separate and most adults know that it's weird to be alone in the kids section, without kids with you. I really appreciated all the events this library used to hold, pre-COVID, so I hope that programming can come back when everything is safe again. The staff are very dedicated to this little branch. And the new branch manager is very involved with the community. Yay! Metered parking spots available. No parking lot dedicated to this library. It is right next to Sprouts.

It was such a relief to feel the cool air as I walked in yesterday as the temperature outside were zapping my energy. To add to my "feel-good" experience, the librarian (Martin) was most helpful in locating some specific titles - and even calling another 2 local libraries to make sure the librarians took them off the shelf and put them on hold, so I could easily pick them up without waiting. Sometimes, "it's the little things in life that make a big difference!"

It is amazing how the Port handles all of the commercial water traffic in San Diego Harbor and at its marine terminals. The Port also maintains over 20 waterfront parks that are a pleasure to visit. My interactions with Port personnel has always been very nice. We love the Maritime Month celebrations in May and the opportunities for "behind the scenes" tours with Port guides. This year, we took a bus tour of the National City Marine Terminal and the Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal -- the two main commercial operations. Our guide was one of the Port's wharfingers, one of the people responsible for day-to-day activities at the terminals. Very informative and enjoyable.

I was a walk-in and did not have an appointment, but I only had to wait for about 40 minutes for an agent to call me to the window, after I checked in. At the window, the agent told me that the reason why I received the notice was that my payment had not been posted prior to the notice being sent out. He could see in the system that in fact I did pay the taxes etc. What I don't understand is that I made the payment a month prior to the date on the notice. You would think somebody would have noticed. An electronically sent payment should be automatic. In the end, they gave me a receipt for the payment that I made earlier, but did not apologize for my inconvenience.

Roots protruding from the ground provided natural seating ... and a playground for children. In order to save the tree, City of San Diego fenced it off in the late '80s, prohibiting public access. Today, however, you can enjoy the tree's canopy from a viewing platform installed three years ago. When I bring guests to Balboa Park, I always include this tree on my "must see" list -- a living link to pre-World War I San Diego.
