We didn't know if it was even a possibility to have those teeth come down and be in place, but Dr. Koch was able to do it (albeit with the help of an oral surgeon who was able to place a hook on one of the teeth so Dr. Koch could slowly draw it down). I wasn't able to afford IV anesthesia (blame my insurance not the doctor) so I had to opt for Nitrous. The pain had gotten so bad that I unfortunately needed to get the surgery done the day before my birthday. BUT, oh my gosh. The surgery experience was fantastic. I remember hearing him say "first ones out," but I didn't feel a thing! My recovery was so smooth the next two days, no swelling, no pain, no blood. He's not a magician, he's an expert. He knows what he's doing. My surgery only took 30 minutes, and that's not because he rushed, it's because he is literally THAT good. During the process he checked with me frequently to make sure I wasn't experiencing any pain or other discomfort. I am a retired Registered Nurse and I was very impressed with my post-op care to make sure there weren't any problems developing. Dr. Gretchen Palmer was the other Doctor who was involved. She is off Winton Road in Rochester, NY. Her involvement was to make the post-op interim denture while the implants healed and the final implant retained dentures. Between the two of them, this was an excellent experience. The final outcome is that my lower teeth feel like my own and I forget that they are in my mouth. The staff at both offices was professional, personable and very helpful and empathized with me. Both Doctors called me to see how I was doing. Oh by the way we have never used the insurance because they h never taken it so we have always paid out of pocket!! Turned our son away because it is the new policy. No notification, our other son was there two weeks ago! I am sure they would be charging us if we just decided not to go, change our policy maybe about ever using them again!
