We had a major electrical update that was an initial hindrance to getting the job underway and Randolfo's handling of this was professional and kept us moving ahead. I had several ideas that Randolfo didn't think would work well and I appreciated his input and took his advice. A job well done! Thank you Randolfo and Paul and your team! Gail H.

We were trying to paint thinking our walls were drywall, then we realized they were plaster and that we were in over our heads. BRAUSA came in and fixed everything up beautifully, patching the plaster and making our walls smooth again. The house looks brand new with the trim work and caulking too. They got the job done (about 1000 sq foot) in less than a week which was so helpful. They also updated our electrical outlets and light switches, coincidentally fixing a doorbell that apparently hadn't worked for decades. Seriously AMAZING! I will definitely be using them again for future painting projects.

I hired them to renovate my bathroom after Luis told me they had a licensed plumber and an amazing…read moretile guy. Well, the plumber and tile guy were one and the same and the day they were starting the tile, they opened up a brand new tile cutter out of the box and started reading the instructions. They used a piece of cardboard as a spacer, so as soon as it got wet, the spacing started to get funky. I also laid out a mock-up on my kitchen table of how each row of tile was to line up that they completely disregarded after the first wall was done. I came home for lunch one day and they had installed the bullnose upside down! They also used the wrong blade for the tile cutter because all the cut edges are raggedy. I'm going to have to pay someone to redo most of it one day, which will involve me replacing the expensive Italian tiles. Aside from the horrible tile work, the window casing looks like it was put together with scraps of trim and they painted everything with a roller and didn't full nail holes before doing so. They also damaged the new tub when installing the drain and damaged some tiles installing some fixtures. The drain line to the sink was installed too high, so until we can get a plumber to come in and repair it, we had to bend the metal and tape it all together temporarily just to get the drain to open and close all the way. Finally, we keep finding set screws on the floor and fixtures keep coming apart (faucet handles will come off in your hand, towel bars come loose from the wall, etc). I never pick the cheapest contractor but Luis and Antonio assured me I'd be pleased with the final product. It looks like I did it myself and I am not handy!

Byggmeister was very good at protecting all interiors and keeping everything clean/not dusty in what can be very messy work. Responsive team that is extremely knowledgeable about building science. They also removed radiators (I've gone to all heat pumps for heating and cooling) and repaired my wood floors where radiators were removed so I have more space. I can't say enough about the quality of their carpentry, innovativeness in taking wood from closet to repair holes in wood flooring so matches incredibly well, and ease of dealing with Byggmeister employees. I'd highly recommend Byggmeister if you looking to remodel - have a historic renovation, to finish attic or basement- convert home to two units etc- especially because they are SO knowledgeable about incorporating energy upgrades in older homes as part of renovation. This is unique to all design build contractors that I have experience with.

It's beautiful now, and very solid and well-insulated (the opposite of its former state). They also replaced two basement windows, and our carpenter ant infested bulkhead door. Paul's crew were all very nice, interesting, hard-working, and talented people. Great communication throughout the work. Another reason I like them is that they are extremely concerned with the quality of their work - as opposed to those who are simply collecting a paycheck. They said that they will contact us to follow up after a year, and again in 2 years. Finally, they are very much aware of the energy efficiency of the structures they are building, and even brought an air-sealing specialist over one morning to ensure that there were no air leaks into the new crawlspace (what other firm would bother to do that, at least for a crawlspace?). If you go with a dirt-cheap contractor, you may pay less up front, but more over time through your utility bills.
