Calloways is the best gardening center. We chose to have Calloways design and install landscaping in our yard. They did a spectacular job. Kara Knight was our project manager. She was responsive, professionals and really listened to what we needed and wanted. In the middle of the project we decided to make a last minute change. She found the bushes we wanted at a store 30 minutes away...Kara went to the store, got the plants and brought them back so we didn't have to wait another day to have the plants delivered. Great service with knowledgeable people. I went in there, looking for a tree with Little knowledge about what I needed to do or the type of tree that would be best. The person that helped me (I think his name was Wyatt) was really helpful. Everyone seemed to be very service oriented as I saw a couple of people before Wyatt came to help me that I had asked a few questions and they were very helpful and seemed to have all the right answers. I got personal service deciding what would be a low cost but pretty filing of two patio pots for the holidays.

I liked their selection and was checked on a couple times to make sure I didn't need any help. Some of their plants were fairly and competitively priced and some I could get anywhere from $10-$20 cheaper at another place I go to. My succulents look wonderful, I LOOOOVE their massive potting area- so many options. I'm on a huge terra cotta kick and I came home with 3 great new pots. All in all I'll really like having them around the corner. Probably too much. read more

I love this place for its hard to find items, and exceptional variety, but often I find myself confused by how they price. I went to buy basil today and unfortunately didn't have a great experience. The basil was placed on a table where the sign says 6.99, and no other signs were on the tables in the area. When it rang up 12.99 I showed her the sign but she insisted it was 12.99. Honestly, I feel like it should have been honored at the 6.99 since that was a bit misleading and no other signs were around, but oh well. That would be exceptional customer service to me. If it were a difference of a couple of dollars that would be one thing, but this was almost doubled. So, I went home basil-less. read more

I can always expect a great selection of "lil buddies" at this location! The help is never a disappointment as well. Everyone is very knowledgeable and helpful if they don't know something about a subject they don't make up information. They quickly ask someone else so you don't go away with the Duh look on your face or feeling like you hate you asked the question in the first place. Today I used a 30% off coupon on 1 regular priced item and I wish I could've applied it to everything I saw. There were so many great options that seemed to be "fresh off the truck"! This location is right on the corner so no dipping throughout other store fronts and sharing parking lots...I've even called before and asked for things and seen if they could possibly special order. What a great nursery. Wife and I like hitting the various ones around the DFW complex as we travel about, as each one seems to have different items, this visit was no different. We grabbed some flowers from Australia from this location that we've not seen at any of the others. Ptilotus Joey, a perennial in warmer climates, great plant with light purple cone like flowers. Also got some black vein Alocasias for $5 each!!! in 3 gallon pots!! They were having a get ride of them sale evidently, they had a few trays and shelves with some $5 plants that needed homes real fast. Our greenhouse is one that gets these "rescue" plants had gets them going again. Was a great deal. Also got a Royal Hawaiian for $5 as well. great deals today. The gentleman at the counter cashing us out was so patient and helpful, telling us of the sales and helping us get the best deals. So friendly, younger gentleman with a beard, he was a great help. This location also had some great looking trees, wicked pricy tho. There was a Chocolate Mimosa tree with soft brown leaves, was almost $200 for a sprig of tree, tree trunk wasn't even 1/2 inch thick an base to top was only about 5 feet with only 3 branches and very few leaves. The best selection in the area for healthy, bright and color plants. They also have a massive selection of planters which are high quality, and really affordable given they aren't cheap plastic garbage like you find at some of the big box stores. They take pride in everything they sell and it shows because unlike some plant stores in the area, you aren't goign to find dead plants hanging on by a thread. Yes, you can roll down to Home Depot and get plants cheaper. That's the whole point of big box stores selling in bulk. But you aren't going to find the variety of colors and the healthiness of the plants that you will here. To me, it's worth the cost to have a beautiful outdoor area. They have the most unique plants ever, on top of rows upon rows upon rows of accents and shrubs and flowers some of which I've never even seen before. Staff is always inviting. Best quality flowers in the area. Don't let a long line fool you either - they are efficient as ever and you'll get through that sucker fast. Theres a reason this place is packed on weekends. Lately I've been having bad luck with service and quality from a few places, I don't like writing bad reviews and I dislike complaining. However, it is important to share the experiences no matter how bad they are bc someone can always use this experience to help them make better choices. If you are looking to spruce up your garden, or in the process of creating an outdoor sanctuary, I highly recommend you purchase plants/trees and or flowers that are in stock and that you can actually take home with you. We spend over $1,500.00 on trees and plants from this location and we regretfully regret that we did. It took one month from the date we place our order to have our stuff delivered. We had no communication what so ever from them regarding the status of our purchases and on top of that we had to chase them down. The process they take is old school and they do not have an up to date system to place order or track product??? I know right this is 2018 and they are still doing things 1990's style. We finally mentioned that we wanted to speak with a Regional Manager bc of the service and lack of info that they were not able to provide to us, and finally this past Sunday we got our plants and trees in. The worst part of that the quality of the plants were very poor dried up and some dead. The delivery guy admitted to watering the cactus plants because he had no idea that they were being delivered that same day, and when we removed the Agave from their plastic containers, they were soaked and smelled rotten from the roots. That tells me that they don't keep a log of care for the plants and obviously they don't give them the care that they need. Overall it was a horrible experience and a waste of time with them from the beginning from the initial meeting with the "plant expert" to the process and delivery. read more

Always a great selection of plants here. We found a set of really nice lavenders that my wife and I planted in our front yard. The soil and other ancillary items needed for gardening are a little pricey here though. I suggest getting your plants here and shopping for soil, mulch, tools, etc. elsewhere. read more

I always receive excellent service at this location. I really appreciate the manager spending so much time explaining about the plants I purchased and the best way to fertilize and water them. They always stand behind their products. They will exchange plants, if you are not completely satisfied. It might be a bit smaller than some of the other locations, but I continue to go back for the service. I go here for houseplants and I'm always impressed by the quality and prices. I am reading complaints from others about high prices here, but their prices on houseplants are generally very good. They are consistently cheaper than other nurseries around here with healthier plants. I also like they they regularly get new and different plants in stock, and have a great variety. read more

It's a cute place! If you're into gardening. It was my first time here looking for lavender. There was only one type, so I had to get it. I walked throughout their whole store and no employee greeted or asked if I need help. But whatever found something I liked, paid and left. Purchased a promoted "fresh" Christmas tree 9 days ago for $130. It's by far the most I have ever paid for a tree but there is a shortage this year (like everything else) and we love to celebrate Christmas with a live tree. Today I removed it and cut it to pieces for trash pick-up. It wasn't anywhere near fresh. Hasn't taken a drop of water in 9 days and is now a dangerous fire hazard. Never had this situation in the 35 years my family has been celebrating Christmas with live trees. I will never shop here again. read more

Calloway's does have a nice selection. It's near my house and I enjoy looking around. Most of the employees I've encountered are average at best and not very knowledgeable when asked questions. There are exceptions and a few are outstanding. I always look for the ones I know will be helpful. Some need further training in speaking with customers on the telephone. read more

Went into the store on a Sunday when it was fairly slow. After walking around for 20 minutes i was never asked if I needed help. Another customer walked in about 15 mins after me and he was immediately asked if he needed help. Most of the Calloways are a bit more pricey than the local big box stores. But you get plant material that is recommended for your area, not bought by the train load for an entire planet. The staff here is VRY friendly and knowledgeable! The business is neat, clean and well stocked. I enjoy just walking around and always find something unique to purchase. Sign up for their email list. There is no where else I would buy beautiful bedding plants, hanging baskets, pottery and more. I just purchased the most AMAZING Christmas tree and when the two gentlemen came to deliver and set it up, they made a fresh cut on the bottom, placed it in a container that would hold water and balanced it to make sure it was straight before bringing it into the house. They always go the extra mile whether in their deliveries or answering my questions while I'm shopping. The two managers Paul and Ryan are always available to share their knowledge and want to insure that you are happy with your purchases. I started visiting Calloway's last year when I moved to Little Elm and have been pleased every time. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and patient regardless of how busy they are. My presence has always been acknowledged with a greeting and offer to help if I need. The staff takes the time to thoroughly answer my questions and have even provided a demonstration when needed. You can buy plants everywhere including grocery stores, but you can't always buy healthy plants that have been cared for while waiting for you to select them. Along with the fantastic service and great plants is prices comparable to big box stores which is what surprised me. For example I left Calloway's after buying a couple house plants and a flower pot and drove over to the Big Blue hardware and garden center to look at their flower pots which were essentially the same price and there were about 1,000 fewer choices (1,000 is not an exaggeration btw). And Big Blue staff just walked past and never said hi and I know from experience they wouldn't be able to answer my questions. I am a solid Calloway's customer now after that comparison. read more
